My grandmother used to have a TV set when I was growing up in the 90s. I think it was 32 inches and it was in color, but still one of those big wooden box TVs nonetheless. Way before I even knew what nostalgia was, I would sometimes stay up real late and watch black and white Disney cartoons on the old TV set. Thanks for the unlocked memory.
I was a TV tech for 40 yrs. You hit the nail on the head ! Things went down hill in the early 90's. When we started doing flat screens I told the boss it wasnt fun anymore & retired. You can still get most OEM parts for a 1970's Zenith more easy than a year old set.... BTW N.H. also. LFOD !

4:34 in the movie Pleasantville, Don Knotts plays the role of a TV repairman who comes into their home to repair one of those old TV sets.
7:12 just wait until household service robots become ubiquitous. They will have tons of personality.
Samsung TVs have always been unreliable for me. LG have been great, Panasonic have been great
