@kenmha no it doesnt sandy bridge has a new socket. propably the new socktet 1156 that will have 1155 pins. so it wont support the new CPU's there are a couple of 6 core CPU's the i7 980X the i7 970...
Something I absolutely hate about Gigabyte colour coding is that those white SATA connectors don't actually signify SATA 6Gb. The board only supports two SATA 3.0 interally from a single Marvell chip and ten SATA 2.0 (eight interal and two eSATA). I really don't know why they insist on colouring ports the way they do. This is taken directly from Gigabytes website and several others, btw.
A step up from mine, it's very nice and I would definitely buy if it wasn't twice the cost of my ud7 :< plus I think 3way sli is plenty for now. Still great vid as always
Just got a working PC with this beast and the silent loop included + i7 920 + GTX 285 + chieftec 700 W All that for a 50$ including 24 GB RAM and a case. Ill put this in a nice glass case, light it up and it is going to be a beauty on my wall! They do not make such awsome enthusiast tech these days.

Im not sure but i dont think it has 4 sata 6gbps ports, because on my x58a-ud7 2 of the white ones are sata 6 and the other 2 white ones are gigabytes own sata 3gbps with raid support.
why arent so awesome boards for amd chipsets -.-??? i want to buy a amd 6core processor because its much much cheaper than the intel but for amd arent so good boards. isnt there any possibility to put there an amd processor with an adapter or something??

What a price tag for that board! US $700.00. (More once our currency is devalued do to printing money.) Something THAT expensive should come with at least a 5 year or lifetime warranty. No exceptions.

this vip card is 4 registering and u get an 3 year warranty, when gigabyte brings out an other mainboard u can send ur working motherboard back and et the other( what ever u want) and u always pay the price between this 2 boards^^ n1 huh?=)

Apparently, this board is the one that powered the world record run on 3DMark Vantage on Extreme settings.

@Airwolf2030 I guess the chipset has limitations of how many sata III & usb 3.0 it can have.
It has 2 NF200 Chips, since you need 2 for 4way SLI.

@TheExcentrik well it would be nice but it just isnt possible due to crossfire being limited to 4 gpus ( 1 5970 has 2 gpus- 4x 5970 = 8 gpus).

I use ps/2 adapters for my mouse and keyboard to save USB ports :) I have alot plugged in.

my mobo ( Asus M4A89GTD PRO ) also charges my iPod when my pc is off
