Honestly this might be the best movie I've seen so far this year. It's rare these days to get a movie that's not only original, but let alone as sharp, smart and overall as entertaining as this is.

Just seen it and really enjoyed it! Passed the six laugh test and holds up as a detective film as much as any other I've seen

Saw it today, it's excellent and entertaining. Crowe's performance was nothing new for him, he always played tough guys (Romper Stomper, Gladiator, 3:2o to Yuma etc) but matched with Ryan Goslings excellent performance as a lousy, drunk private I ,makes the pair extremely entertaining to watch. I have problems with it but I can't talk about them without spoiling something so let me just say they don't get in the way of enjoying the film. Simply put, if you like Lethal Weapon, you'll like the nice guys.

This movie is awesome! Hilarious, exciting, and filled with beautiful sassy women. And yes, that includes the remarkable actress playing the 13-year old daughter. In fact, she may be the best part of the film.

if this was the 90s it would have been a smash like lethal weapon- but in this day and age- all people will go to the cinemas for is batman vs gi Joe vs pokemon

Doesn't hold a candle to Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, but charming and entertaining nonetheless.

Am I the only one that prefers the guest spots with other critics and presenters? I just find it more refreshing to hear proper reviews and a decent insight rather than ramblings. I think the BBC should be open to giving regular new positions to people like Ben B Smith and King rather than hold on to the same old for decades.

i loved this film. it was very funny. The only thing I felt was badly done was his daughter. She seemed to do stuff far beyond her age

Stephen InGermany I get what you mean, but her acting older than her age is one of the main traits of her character.

Her character was like the parent to her father. Rough and knew what's going on while her father is like an innocent kid. That's why it's funny. She is more competent than her father is.

I'm in the middle of the movie right now. That might give you some indication of my movie watching experience. Basically, the party scenes leading to the end of the first act are bloated. Let's give Ryan a chance to be silly, let's put Russell in a big fight.

I completely agree, the film wasn't any good.. Funny in parts but nothing more then that.. It was just an empty movie..

I agree with the second opinion completely. And besides the daughter the female characters where awefully written and sexualized... Booooring!

I must have watched a different film. Managed 40 minutes and gave up. Its not terrible, but so far its basically the big lebowski, just without any of the humour or wit. Chrissakes, it even tries to use bowling for comic effect (but fails) "STFU donny......."

What the heck is James King talking about when he starts prattling about 'layers' in this film!? Layers? What!!?? It was absolute trash. I only managed an hour of it. It was unfunny, boring and gross punctuated with meaningless violence. I couldn't care less about any of the characters. Completely heavy handed. Enduring the party scene was quite nauseating to be honest. Thinking of having to sit through another hour of similar swill was just too much for me. I turned it off.

The film was tedious, formulaic and and forced.

    • @jomartyn8789
      @jomartyn8789 7 ปีที่แล้ว

Russell Barnard To me the funniest part was how it followed a normal action movie formula up to a point, then completely subverted a cliche for comedic effect.

Its compete garbage. I haven't been more let down by a movie in years. Someone even said its an indie movie by Ryan Gosling and Crowe and why can't' movie like this be successful when Angry Birds is making money.

This movie was so bad. It was slow. It should have been tightened up a lot.
I had high hopes for this movie and am so disappointed.
