      Haven't seen Men & Chicken yet. Haven't even heard of Office actually. Green Room & The Witch were pretty great, just y'know, not the kind of film I think I'll find myself revisiting in a couple of years. Hail Caesar was good too, had some problems I think, but still.

      The Critical Geek I was half kiddin and took the opportunity to name my favorites as 2016 is going by.
      I'm actually lookin forward to NiceGuys too, it's just that it'll prolly not get a (wide or any) release in my country and i'll have to wait for a bluray release.
      Appreciate the response and thoughts on each film.

    Too often Matt and Alonzo talk about how hard to follow something is, and then I see it and wonder what the hell they were talking about. I'm starting to suspect that movie going has become too MUCH of a job for them and they zone out during a lot of these

      nicodimus2222 That really has nothing to do with it. I'm talking about a general disinterest in paying close attention. Not a lack of ability to comprehend what's happening. Short version, I think they may be burnt out from watching so many films, and because of it, we're not getting as true a review as we used to, from them

    And strictly on the subject of What the Flick reviews themselves. Lately they all just seem so disinterested. Doesn't matter if it's a film they liked, were 'meh on or hated, the energy of the panel is just lousy. And the videos don't so much end as much as they....peter out. With dead expressions and barely audible remarks. It feels like you guys can't wait to be done, so you can go do something else. Think it might be time for some new blood

    • @ohthepeppers

    • @trav_9830
      @trav_9830 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +ohthepeppers Point is I DO like their videos. Or at least I always used to. Lately though it's taken a down turn, IMO. So because I've been such a fan of this channel, I'd rather say something, than just write them off and unsubscribe. They can either see some merit in what I'm saying or not, but I know at the very least, given what they do for a living, they can handle some criticism. Even if some of there fans can't

      well its a "critic film" so of course nerds would love it. they are pushing the film for marketing, the studio wants to make its money just recently a lot of these period piece films havent been really clicking with the mainstream audience. i personally only saw it cause of my aunt, i had no interest in it at all. the trailer didnt interest me, dont particularly like the actors or the time period. the movie going audience of this smart phone generation probably dont want to see "old" stuff lol

    A 13 year old at a porn party is not that hard to believe in 70's LA. Kim Fowley would be considered a habitual pedophile in todays standards but he even but an under age girl rock group and sold them to the world as under age sex kittens. An underaged groupie wrote a tell all book about being passed around between super famous rock legends when she was 13-14.

    • @Laughing_Chinaman
      @Laughing_Chinaman 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Chase Repass its a movie for adults if you still think the world is separated into good guys and bad guys and that only bad guys are allowed to be shot in movies then the problem is with you

    • @TimaeusCR
      @TimaeusCR 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +PitchBlackFox I am very aware that the movie is for adults as it was rated R. My point is an innocent person would get shot like an old lady in a string of comedic actions that were all funny and innocent people getting shot to me isn't my idea of funny. So I guess it's the changes in tone? Call it what you want they hit the nail on the head in the review.

  • @kh7688

    Absolutely loved this movie but I do agree to an extent that the 3rd act is chaotic. Ryan Gosling should have died at least 10 times in the last 10mins, which did bother me a little because, how he survived falling off the balcony in the first half is inexplicable. However to have him survive much worse later on did put me off. Also I didn't like Gosling's daughter preventing Crowe from killing Matt Bomer, didn't this bitch throw what she thought was hot coffee on someone? I'm sure she could understand that this guy had to die. Other than those two hiccups I felt this movie got so much right the main 3 characters are fantastic, it's shot well, often hilarious and the mystery is intriguing. Definitely one of the best movies of last year.

      Jesus Christ, "PC" has become the new "liberal" for whiny conservatives. Don't like something? It's "PC"! Waaaaaa!

      keefriff99 Not a conservative. Just a liberal who's seen waaaaay more of life than you.
      Over twice as much, if your name is as formulaic as it appears to be.

    took me two tries to get through this movie and I never laughed. I have a four laugh minimal for comedies.

    not only worst movie of the year one of the worst movie's i've seen in my life. last time i let someone force me to see crap i have no interest in. havent seen kiss kiss bang bang since it first came out so dont know if my opinion of that film would have changed but with this and iron man 3 i think shane black has lost his touch.

    This movie was so bad. It was slow. It should have been tightened up a lot. I had high hopes for this movie and am so disappointed.

      +Johnny Threefour Quit exaggerating. There aren't enough of this type of film for any sane person to legitimately claim to be "getting sick" of them.
