@@maverickriderJB Thanks for asking this question.. Yes it in deed does seem that its simpler that way but using android auto has its own perks, especially if you are a motorcyclist. Also the main audience I intended are for motorcycles who are planning to buy an android auto head unit like chigee or aoicee just for android auto.. a 5$ app is cheaper an 200$ device which cannot be removed from your motorcycle. 1) you can directly access most of the functionalities of your phone without having to take it off your pocket/bagpack. It will make sense when your primary phone is a big brick like the s23 ultra 😅 2) somehow, when in android auto mode, the power usage by hotspot is much lesser.. I seen a 30 % drop in battery for 6 hours compared to 70% drop in hot spot method. 3) the layout is suited to access only driving necessary apps faster. Which means much less distractions from other apps. Now one might argue saying I can throw in the DND mode, HOWEVER, it also silences out the calls or other important notifications. One may choose to use any method which they feel comfortable. I would say, if yoh are using the set up, lock the launcher and head unit app in recent app settings to avoid accidental or systemic closure... this method helped me keep the process open and does not die if you clear apps.
I am glad that you found this tutorial helpful 😊
can i do the same while having navigation phone as a hotspot instead?
@@2kmonsty815 yes you can try reversing the option.. where on navigation phone you select the hotspot mode and on main phone you select connect to the navigation phone...you need tp ensure your main phone can connect to hot spot of navigation phone.. you can do this outside the apps ,just by creating hot spot and connecting first and then switching the options i suggested in both the apps..should work
Wow, clean procedure!
Is there anything similar that iPhone users can do?
Unfortunately no my friend.. I wish there was something for Carplay..
Hi, If i have to use a tablet instead of a phone as the head unit, what is the minimum ram&rom the tablet should have to work seamlessly?
Sure, I have a video dedicated to this.

Good effort in explaining this functionality. Correct me if wrong. The host phone and client phone can be connected using wifi hotspot and you can use google maps directly on it.
Also, any music app can be used by connecting to BT on the client phone.
Why take all this hastle to install apps, fo settings etc.
It will make sense when your primary phone is a big brick like the s23 ultra 😅
2) somehow, when in android auto mode, the power usage by hotspot is much lesser..
I prefer using this as it let's me access navigation, music, calls , sms and any other simple functions without having to take the phone out of my bagpack.
Hope this answers your question 😇
Works fine, thank you!

Your method works on my car android player. Thanks.
Glad it helped you 😇
I bought the HUR and installed in android player of car but i am not able to set up the android auto set up for the first time, can u do a video on that
but doesn't the Android player sold for cars come with Android auto in it? Can you tell me the make/model of the player..I can try to help you 🙂
My car player is aftermarket n it doesn't have android auto support but HUR helped me to get that facility. Moreover, the problem I was facing was just because of higher display pixel quality, reducing it has brought down the screen size n I got the chance to select the options. Initially I set to 350 and I could not see all the options but later I reduced it 150 n could see all the options during initial set up. Kindly add this thing in ur video n others may get help from this. Bdw ur video was of great help for me to set up for the first time.. thanks n keep up the good work😈

Still can’t seem to work out how to add extra apps from phone to android auto, as it just seems to select which ones it wants.?
@@authenticlifeministries-br6751 android auto has restriction on the kind of apps you can use.. however there are forks of apps such as youtube that are made for android auto.. install that apk on your phone and android auto should let you use it..

Now the question is, how do you control it through steering?
@akshaypai1602 Yeah, that's seems a major reason not to use it, but again, great info, bro 👍
@@rohitganvir9383 hey bro i stand corrected.. there are controllers to use it on steering... i was using a bluetooth joystick which was not detecting rightfully as a controller rather a mouse...
I hope this helps:

You can use this product or similar products. Just check all images, usually if there is a controller box involves dont buy it.. this specific one is without any controllerbox and plainly a bluetooth remote.. works even on motorcycle( but not in rain..Available on amazon. And link is not affiliate..
You need to pair it with main phone and not hud, thats all..
I use HUR from past 3 years its super good app and paisa vasool
Absolutely 💯💯
Very cool video, do you have a video where there is a setting - when we start the car - it automatically turns on the dashcam recording and also turns on the maps? Also, where can we remotely connect to our DVR and see what's going on in the parking lot? Thank you. you are the best!

Can I use hotspot from Navigation phone and connect my main phone to that hotspot?
I don't want to use hotspot on my main device as it will consume a lot a battery and will heat the device as well.
@@christin_sunny yes you can do that.. just swap the options in the wifi mode and it should work.
LMFAO this should be about a 5 minute process at MOST
Yes it is 😇 and that's how much time people will take after learning the initial setup... It's a little tricky and not all are tech savvy or understand setup in one go. So my aim is to help people who need help with set up a and understand what each options are... 😊👍

how to make calls (dialing numbers from navigation phone) , like android head units ?
A new video detailing the usage will be out this weekend 😇
Hi, it works with old auto media devices with android 6?
I havent tested it on Android 6, but you can try it and let us know if it works.. As per googles documentation for Android Auto, its android auto is supported from Android 6 and above 😊
Thanks buddy! Was able to follow your tutorial all the way to the end and get this running. But when I start navigation on Google maps in the 2 wheeler mode it refuses to show the map screen and an error message pops up asking me to restart the navigation in the "car mode"
Let me check this and comment back 😇
Apparently android auto is designed to work only on cars and not other modes.. to check this I tried the two wheeler mode in my in car android auto and it had the same error.. so i belive this is some restriction from google
Bro, thank you so much. It worked.
Glad it helped 😇

It works absolutely fine with google maps but waze opens and i can search and click on locations but does not show the route ,any idea how to fix this?
I am not sure about this.. il try to see if I can get to reproduce this with my setup.. until then try lowering the DPI in graphics settings to 200 or 150
Works like a charm. Only challenge I am facing is the inability of calls getting routed to my bluetooth intercom. Music plays fine, just calls don't get routed. I am at my wits end. Anything you can suggest to fix this?
Let me try this one and get back to you👍
@SouvikSays the way it works in this setup is , you need to connect your headset/bluetooth speakers to the main phone.. and then when you recieve a call or play music, it will route it through the main phone to your audio device.. however you will be able to diale and revieve on the HUD phone ... hope this helps
When I receive a call from my old phone, the audio comes from the main phone. Music works alright, it plays on the old phone.

Just uninstall all unwanted apps in the mobile using Android debloater and just install maps alone ..
No need for bluetooth and wifi ...just simple
Few reasons why prefer having this set up,
1) you can directly access most of the functionalities of your phone without having to take it off your pocket/bagpack. It will make sense when your primary phone is a big brick like the s23 ultra
2) When in android auto mode, the power usage by hotspot is much lesser..
Lastly,
I have not claimed this as the "only way" or "the efficient way"...Its simply a way to run android auto without having to invest in a separate device. One may choose to use any method which they feel comfortable.
:) Cheers!
Thank you so much for help.
