I grew up listening to this incredible band. I have all my posters of Led Zeppelin, some in better condition than others but I don't remember a day that I didn't spend hours listening while staring at those posters hoping for the day I would see them live. Sadly when I was a senior in highschool John Bonham passed away. A few years later I was able to see Jimmy and Robert. I have somany great memories of the hours my friends and I listened to this great music. I hope you listen to Presence as well. Enjoy !!!! 🎶🎼🎵
U most b same age as me. Never got to see them before john died. But seen robert plant with his band in Atlantic city. Was unbelievable he was about 60 and sounded amazing
One of the songs on this album that were recorded for earlier albums, in this case the title track of the previous album. I think John Paul Jones's importance for Zeppelin is sometimes overlooked much in the same way that George Harrison's importance to the success of The Beatles was. He is an excellent bass/keyboard/mandolin player as well as an incredible songwriter & arranger. Jimmy & Robert always said that every member of the group was an equal part & that's why when John Bonham died they felt they couldn't go on as it just wouldn't be Zeppelin without those 4 people.
John Paul Jones is in a band with the singer from Queens of the Stone Age (who also plays guitar), and the drummer from Nirvana, Dave Grohl. The band is called Them Crooked Vultures. Their song Nobody Loves Me And Neither Do I will crush you with it's bass lines. A killer track all around.
Saw them three times in the 70’s at the Fabulous Forum. I have seen about 100 Concerts in my 63 years but Hands down LED Zeppelin was the best!! 🎸🎼🎤🤙🏽👍🏽😎
I was 15 when this came out and what a time it was. By the way, your Mom and Dad are still just kids to me as I have a daughter born in 78, and she's still a kid to me. Thank you for posting. This song brings back the best memories
Right? It's deep until you realize pretty much every lyric in older rock 'n roll was sexual double entendre. Over time it became more overt because a tolerance was developing; have to keep upping the dose to shock and sell records. The original audience was a relatively sexually repressed bunch, too. Have we come full circle now, where the lyrics original subversive undertone is being understood literally?
I was born 1965 so I saw when this music was born! Lol love your Led Zeppelin reactions that's why I'm here keep going! And please do Zeppelin's album presance way underrated album! It has Achilles last stand which I know you will love it's my favorite Zeppelin song!
Roman is slightly wrong when he says that “the pocket” is the bass playing on the beat with the drums. The drummer sets the pocket…some better than others. You will have other musicians, especially bass players, talk about a drummer’s “great pocket” and what a joy it was to play with that drummer because of “his pocket”. Some drummers are referred to as “pocket drummers” or that they stayed in the pocket. It’s all about the drummer. Some drummers I’ve heard mention as outstanding pocket drummers are Russ Kunkel, Jeff Pecaro, Charlie Watts, Ringo Starr.
Hi Silas Almost at the end of what was side 2 LP of this double LP album and you have 2 amazing tracks coming up to end Side 2 Loved the reaction as always and can’t wait to see you hear Trampled Underfoot and Kashmir
Bonham was the one who died. The drummer. His son Jason has since played with Zep on occasions. As a band, they quit touring and making music when Jon Bonham died.
On the vinyl it goes for just a little longer with a different lovely little guitar riff at the very end. If there was only one band I was able to listen to...it would be Led Zeppelin. I was 13 when this album came out, I knew the others through my older sister, she is 8 years older than me and I really got into them when I was 15 and listening to them after a little 'puff' which was prolific at the time made it so much deeper and...spiritual for want of a better word.
Hi.. I'm from Belgium , roughly as old as your father/uncle.. and I discovered your channel today and already saw a dozen of your videos (already suscriber) ; I love your enthusiasm and glad you enjoy and dive deep into Led Zep discography ! You make a video each day so you can really appreciate album that was a whole to lsiten (not singles playlists as Spotify&co.) .. I really like your way to do it ! BUT I want to introduce into something that goes beyond music ... TOOL !!! Since you like LZ, I'm sure that you will also love TOOL's univers ; although they are all very talented musicians, they also bring philosophy concept + arithmetics + grooves + mysticism + sciences + visuals + ... etc !!! TOOL's fans are sometimes called devots because the spiritual energy emanating from each notes can lifts souls who sometimes lost their-self (their last album is so important for my soul, my conciousness and... Pfiouuu.... It's very difficult to explain how much this band counts for me ... since a while ... and more today now I had a heart attack last week which could have been fatal !). Listen to this band into the hospital room was so ... helpful / grantful / timeless / serenity / powerness / and the list goes on .... TOOL is very special ; you NEED to know them (could you invite your uncle/father on this one ?? intergenerational reactions could help you to understand some concepts ! Yeah.. there are many layers !) !! Let me introduce you from the beginning (for a perfect experience .. you will understand this "joke" later !) : First, see as we world discovered TOOL.. back in 1992 with "Sober" official video (made by the band itself !)... it was not a common music and visuals at that time so they catch my eyes but they reached a next step with their following albums ..so next, please check out in order : "46 & Two" 's Welcome Shadow 's video version (it have lyrics ..and more ! Check this..) ..then "Schism" / "Parabola" / "Lateralus" official videos (where they reach a new level beyond !) Next, you could go deep into each first albums as you do for LZ... or go to "Reflection" / "Right In Two" ... but you need to listen -Fear Inoculum- whole album in audio only before seeing the "Pneuma - live version" from drummer's cameras (take this one for the very last video... you will be blowned away !!) Hope you will enjoy this journey !!
“Hi Roman!” Again, I like waking up to your reactions. This is one of Zeppelin’s dancing songs for me. Silas, have you considered playing guitar?? It’s obvious how much you like lead guitar.
Good idea! He had many years of piano and violin lessons, but never guitar. Side note: there is a banjo in the attic of his house. Seems like someone should dust it off:)
I used to have all the Zeppelin albums and listened to them constantly. Some of them I haven't heard in a long time though so these reactions are bringing back some memories. BTW could you kids please speak up or move the mics closer or something? Us older rockers are half deaf from listening to loud music all our lives. 🙂
This is out of left field - you would enjoy "Stay With Me" by The Faces. Rod Stewart fronted the band for a brief while. The band also includes Ronnie Wood, now one of the guitarists with the Rolling Stones. A rocking groove of a song...Keep up the good work!
If you like guitarists of that era, you should try a number of Deep Purple tracks, especially from Deep Purple in Rock, Machine Head and Burn. As with Led Zep, all members are highly talented.
Hi Silas luv your reactions. Jpj and jimmy page also produced everything. Robert and Jimmy wrote most of all the songs. John bonham greatest drum player of all time. And jpj key boards and bass. What a magical band.
Smack Smug Yappy's hands. Not his gig. Not a slap bass. JPJ used a pick much of the time. Like Chris Squire of Yes, for example, who used a "pick and thump" technique. JPJ was excoriated in the beginning for his pick use. Listen to "Zooma" for bass mastery. Let me wander in your garden and the seeds of love I'll sow . Come on, man...you know what that means
Welcome to Zep. New sub so I look forward to more reactions. Replying to M Atk. I do believe he is right. This song was not actually featured on the album titled "Houses of the Holy". Trivia stuff. It was actually on what in my opinion is the best album (a double). Physical Graffiti.
Watch the video on TH-cam “Led Zeppelin Trampled Under Foot live at Earl’s Court 1975”, it blows away the studio version, mainly because Page puts out one of his best solos.
Come on Silas, it was John Bonham who died. I thought you’d sussed that last time you had that discussion. Anyway other than that, great reaction, looking forward to Kashmir, In The Light and Ten Years Gone
Roman's a slacker! Tell him to get off his butt and do more reaction. Dudes, have not learned anything about Zeppelin yet? "Let me wonder in your garden, the seeds of love I sow." He talking about sex. LOL. With Zeppelin, when in doubt to what the lyrics mean, if you think sex, you will be right 90% of the time. "Garden" is a metaphor for a part of a woman's body. Does not something grow in a garden and inside a woman? "Seeds of Love I sow" I am sure you can figure out what that is. Todays youth. Later in the song Plant says, "can I make your Garden Grow?" Thats pregnancy. Your saying a lot when this is might the worst song on this album. Ironically, if I remember correctly, this and Kashmir got the most air play though. This clearly should have been on the previous album by the name and the music is more similar to that album. I have no idea why they held it off. Still, a very good song. Just not as good at it's big brothers on the album. The next two songs though are just amazing. Each has spent considerable time on my Best Zeppelin song list over the years. A hint to whats going on in the next song. The lyrics are comparing a woman's body to various car parts.
I'm generally a fan of Led Zep, but this particular song is a little 'lumpy 'and plodding for my liking. They did after all choose to omit it from the eponymous album itself. But on its own its okay, comparisons aside.
“Tea for one” “for your life” “I’m gonna crawl”. That’s my 3 favorite zeppelin songs.
This band is iconic, historic and badass
In the light

Incredible album. Other than the radio , this was my first introduction to Zeppelin. I've been a fan ever since. Greatest of All Time
Me too..1st intro in 1979. Never looked back.
Kids gettin' in to Zeppelin - warms the heart of this old Aussie. Btw, I was born in 1965 so tell your parents they're still just kids.

I love this song, it always makes me feel happy ✌️
Saw them live knebworth 1979 !!
No words to describe it !!!
They were incredible 💖💖
John Paul Jones is in a band with the singer from Queens of the Stone Age (who also plays guitar), and the drummer from Nirvana, Dave Grohl. The band is called Them Crooked Vultures. Their song Nobody Loves Me And Neither Do I will crush you with it's bass lines. A killer track all around.
TRUTH! And if you watch that live, you will be gobsmacked by the BEAST that JPJ is playing! It is not a normal bass at all.
Saw them three times in the 70’s at the Fabulous Forum. I have seen about 100 Concerts in my 63 years but Hands down LED Zeppelin was the best!! 🎸🎼🎤🤙🏽👍🏽😎
Your friend needs to hear JPJ playing the fretless bass along with Jimmy’s slide on “In My Time of Dying”.
I was 15 when this came out and what a time it was. By the way, your Mom and Dad are still just kids to me as I have a daughter born in 78, and she's still a kid to me. Thank you for posting. This song brings back the best memories
Your parents are young! LZ always plays in the "pocket." "Let me wander through your garden, and the seeds of love I'll sow." Hmm, think about it.
Right? It's deep until you realize pretty much every lyric in older rock 'n roll was sexual double entendre. Over time it became more overt because a tolerance was developing; have to keep upping the dose to shock and sell records. The original audience was a relatively sexually repressed bunch, too. @@commentatron Seems like it.
That has to be one of the greatest drum/bass parts ever. Combine it with that ingenious guitar riff and the great vocals and there you go.
I was born 1965 so I saw when this music was born! Lol love your Led Zeppelin reactions that's why I'm here keep going! And please do Zeppelin's album presance way underrated album! It has Achilles last stand which I know you will love it's my favorite Zeppelin song!
Kashmir has been my favorite song since your dad was born!!!!
Bass player is John Paul Jones! Drummer is Bohnam, guitarist is Jimmy Page and singer, harmonica player is Robert Plant, just for info.
I saw them in Wash DC in 1977. Great seats by Jimmy. The audio inly is online 5/30/77.
Tickets were somewhere around $10.
Top song! Top reaction! Thanks!
Masterpiece
This is cruising to the beach in the summer windows down stereo cranked vibe...
Real rock and roll. Still the best band ever.
John Paul Jones can play just about any instrument, he does some amazing pedal steel guitar work.
They are fabulous...always!
you will love their song----Rock and Roll
It poetic, not deep! He’s talking about making love! 😎 The GOATS!

He's like 16, lay off lol
Great review, thanks guys, great to watch you enjoy the Goats, (along with Pink Floyd lol).
I was 16 when this came out. We blasted the hell out of this. ❤😂..
Hi Silas

The recurring theme in Zeppelin songs is sex.

That bassline is one of my top 20 of all time
Mr John Paul Jones on bass
NEEDS MORE COWBELL!!!! Great Job Silas once again!!
1:53 "ooh that slap bass"
Thanks for the musical insight. Question. Why does the guy on our right look like he's trying to pass a loaf?
“Hi Roman!” Again, I like waking up to your reactions. This is one of Zeppelin’s dancing songs for me. Silas, have you considered playing guitar?? It’s obvious how much you like lead guitar.
Easier said than done

Great review fellas 👌👆
Love your friend... he's cool
I used to have all the Zeppelin albums and listened to them constantly. Some of them I haven't heard in a long time though so these reactions are bringing back some memories.
BTW could you kids please speak up or move the mics closer or something? Us older rockers are half deaf from listening to loud music all our lives. 🙂
It's John Bonham the god of thunder who died! That's why I Led Zeppelin broke up cuz I couldn't go on without the greatest drummer!
Not deep, its all about the kitty kat 🤣
We like when TH-camrs change up the intro every now and then, to keep it fresh, not repetitive.
Yah your friend... Keep him in your pocket! 😍
Is the dude on the left trying to grow a mustache? 🤔😜 The GOATS!
This song makes you want to move!
This is out of left field - you would enjoy "Stay With Me" by The Faces. Rod Stewart fronted the band for a brief while. The band also includes Ronnie Wood, now one of the guitarists with the Rolling Stones. A rocking groove of a song...Keep up the good work!
Its young Dad back!

The seeds of love Ill sow, is very sexual.
Hi Silas luv your reactions. Jpj and jimmy page also produced everything. Robert and Jimmy wrote most of all the songs. John bonham greatest drum player of all time. And jpj key boards and bass. What a magical band.
Close,Jimmy was the producer.JP&RP wrote a lot of the song,not all.JPJ was a supurb arranger,helped with STH(uncredited)
Smack Smug Yappy's hands. Not his gig.

Ovuosly Led Zep was a phenomenal band , but there's also many
talented bands , for instance Pink Floyd , Deep Prurlpe , check them
out . Thanks

The drummer is playing 3/4 while the guitarist is playing 4/4 (or visa vers) so they only sync up every 12 beats.
I was 13 and I thought this album rocked!!!
THIS SONG WAS RECORDED During led zeppelin3 why they didn't release it till this album is strange
Haha I was 20 when this album came out…
Some of their songs Bonzo is in the pocket with Page. The Immigrant Song and the Whanton Song are two examples.
I really like trampled under foot which is your next song. Of course the major hit Kashmir is nearing😊
Watch the video on TH-cam “Led Zeppelin Trampled Under Foot live at Earl’s Court 1975”, it blows away the studio version, mainly because Page puts out one of his best solos.
LZ are very often just double entendres and/or metaphors for sex and/sexual acts
Come on Silas, it was John Bonham who died. I thought you’d sussed that last time you had that discussion. Anyway other than that, great reaction, looking forward to Kashmir, In The Light and Ten Years Gone
Being Roman back more often
Keep
Anything you can do about the focus, I have to look away because the picture is giving me a headache!
Sexual metaphors??
Yes,....🤣
well, no kidding.
@@hifijohn I reported it.

JOHN BONHAM DIED IN 1980, THAT WAS THE END OF ZEPPELIN, REGARDS
