I want to tell you I appreciate how you switched accents to say Avenged at the beginning of the video. That was super cool of you. It's a small thing, but many reactors butcher a lot of band names culturally and it makes such a huge difference when they take the time to pronounce it the way that fits the artist's culture. The man you heard on vocals in the chorus was Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan, the drummer they had paid tribute to in the So Far Away video, and live he sang that part while drumming. Avenged Sevenfold was the last album he completed, then the next album Nightmare only used his demos. Jimmy sang on just a handful of A7X songs, but he and M. Shadows complement each other well. Matt wrote the heavy riffs after the scream, although he didn't record them. Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance are the guitarists, and Johnny Christ is the bassist. The song was more specifically written about people who criticized the Iraq War and the troops and President Bush, for some extra context. Their friends who went overseas after 9/11 meant everything to them. The band members were Republican in 2007. Since then, they've become more moderate. Another song in the same vein as this that has more length and progression and more focus on the troops in a personal way is M.I.A., the last track on their 2005 album City of Evil. I don't know all the facts about the rest of the band, but I knew Jimmy a little going way back. Unfortunately lost touch with him over the last year and a half of his life. Jimmy may be quoted as saying something that led you to believe he was a Republican, but he wasn't. For sure he felt the troops should be supported no matter what your political affiliations are. Jimmy was a very independent thinker and genius musical artist that will forever be missed. As I said, I don't know all of the political beliefs of the rest of the band, but this old quote from Zacky when asked how does the phrase President Trump sound to you? May shed some light on that: "That's a very scary phrase. All I can hope is that Americans and people across the entire world do right by each other. That guy Trump can do what he pleases, but as long as the majority of people stick together and try and be good people to each other, then I think all of that will be irrelevant." Politics just don't seem like something Jimmy would be talking about in detail with people who aren't part of the crew and family. I really love his melodic sense, his raspy harsh vocals & his tonality! Matt uses his voice very much in a similar manner as a guitarist would, utilizing many counter melodies & layers to give a very interesting style..........what’s more is that they are able to reproduce these layers live since the whole band can sing well. You add the brilliant songwriting & Synister Gates amazing lead playing & you get this extremely musical amalgamation that is AX7! Great song, amazing band & very talented musicians. Matt is such a divisive feature of Avenged Sevenfold for a lot of people who dislike his nasality, but that tone is exactly what makes him iconic, imo. I don't think hating him makes any more sense than hating Axl Rose or Dave Mustaine, who completely changed the game when it came to rock and metal vocals. Mick Jagger meets Ziggy Stardust meets Steven Tyler meets Sid Vicious. Those quirky, raw vocal styles bring depth into the overall sound of a song. There's extra swagger and grit which really elevate the sound of the instruments as well. With A7X, it helps that the guitars have a symbiotic relationship where they're also functionally used as backing vocals. Nothing overtakes the song, and everything is highlighted in a specific way that people can instantly identify as being a trait of Avenged Sevenfold. M. Shadows is a unique part of how the entire band creates a song, and they wouldn't be the same without him. He's also able to channel the James Hetfield and Phil Anselmo manner of raw power, the controlled vibrato of Mike Patton, and that emotional croon of Chris Cornell. He's dynamic, if not the most universally pleasing singer. Well worth recognizing as a fantastic vocalist.

She was their tour manager and merch girl and paid for them to record their first album. Her twin sister Michelle married Synyster, so Matt and Syn are brothers by marriage.
I know it's 2 years later but this is actually a patriotic, pro-America song because A7X are a more conservative band. This particular song is about the band Green Day, who won a Grammy and got tons of mainstream media love heaped on them for their leftist album 'American Idiot' from 2005. Avenged played a few festivals with Green Day during this time, and the anti-America, anti-veterans message repulsed A7X. Green Day and lots of other rock bands suddenly started getting a lot more praise from the critics; they started becoming media darlings from out of nowhere around this time. It had nothing to do with their music. No, they still had the same uninspired, unoriginal songs as they always have, only now they were getting a lot more praise and plaudits for it because they were going on stage burning American flags and yelling deranged screeds against George W Bush. Avenged hated this. They wanted nothing to do with that movement. That's why this song is called 'Critical Acclaim'. The radical political bands still hadn't improved. They were just saying "Fuck America" and the media hailed them as being geniuses for it.

Another beautiful sunset and setting! Laughing at the bargain with the mountain lion right off the bat. Did it complain? I love anything by A7X. I could probably add them to a list of my favorite metal bands we were talking about the other night. Two more I should have mentioned were Killswitch Engage and Lamb of God. You don't have to react to them or anything but check them out sometime! M. Shadows is very good at changing up his vocal style and pulling each one he does off flawlessly. I am glad Trump is going to be gone very soon, but I am not Democrat or Republican. There is nothing in The Constitution about a 2 party system. I don't like to be put in a box and only have 2 choices. That is right where they want you. They want us the people to have no power. We must take the power back! I do know what you mean about some people saying if you didn't support Trump then you are not a Patriot and hate your country. Ignore all that. That is only Trump and his brainwashed supporters saying that.
I think the most important thing for everyone to realize is that people have a reason for doing what they do. A lot of these young people enlist in the military because they believe they're fighting for freedom and the people they love. Whether it's what they're actually fighting for or not, it's a noble thing to love someone so much you'd be willing to kill or die for them. Not everyone in the armed forces is so honorable, but the ones who are, as human beings, deserve an incredible amount of respect. Politicians divide people, but people shouldn't divide each other, or blame each other for doing what they feel is right. Human beings usually feel they're in the right and doing things in their best interest aside from those who really hate seeing others living life peacefully, and I think all of us will benefit from being a positive force for those around us. Doing our best to build the ones around us up who need a little extra help, and showing people who put their own rights aside so others can thrive a little extra encouragement. We're all playing a game if we let ourselves hate others when we could inspire them to be a little less selfish. We could really have officials represent us who can change things and help us to live in peace if we just give each other a chance. It starts with taking a moment to understand the world around us.

After 2009 I don't really like A7X, but with Jimmy I liked the band. The song is basically just about supporting the troops no matter your political affiliations. So, what a band did so bad that you don’t like them (after Rev passed away). It’s not their fault. I discovered them from “Nightmare”. And honestly like it, of course I need to know them much better to be able to hear the difference between with or without Rev (like Pink Floyd with Sid or with GILMOUR, or Pink Floyd without Roger). I miss Jimmy.😢 I think he is one of the best drummers there ever was. Great musician overall. I didn't say I hate A7X after 2009, I just don't like them near as much as I did with Jimmy. And you mention Pink Floyd. I don't like Floyd as much without Roger. I always hated the feud between Roger and David that still goes on today. Wish they could get along. I STILL LIKED Pink Floyd when Roger left, but there is just so much missing without him. A7X doesn't feel the same to me without Jimmy and a lot like Floyd without Roger I feel the music and songwriting suffered. Jimmy was a big part of all that. Metallica I love up through the Master Of Puppets album. So no Black Album for me. Cliff was missed after MOP. I saw Metallica open twice for Ozzy just before Cliff died and still miss him as well. Not saying Metallica sucks after Master of Puppets, but just like the first 3 albums and tours best. It happens with bands sometimes that you enjoy certain eras of the bands more than others. And sometimes band members leaving the band or dying affects the overall quality of the band.✌😘
A7X definitely have written differently since Nightmare. I don't think necessarily for worse. Not Ready to Die was the first song they wrote after the dust settled and it's easily in my opinion one of their best songs, though I do think they became kind of split on the last two albums when it came to deciding what they wanted to do. I don't fault them, considering the effect death has on a lot of people creatively. It feels like they restrained themselves on Hail to the King and The Stage and wanted to make a statement more than to just make great songs. Hail to the King - Check out the bands that inspired us The Stage - Here are loose concepts about the problems humans go through and how we might fix them Everything before was about busting out great songs and exploring music for telling stories. There was a balance of saying something important with making absolute bangers. The sound dynamics were really fresh and the songs were full of energy. I think the band's next album might swing things since they have time to work on it and big factors that could influence it. If they have a great producer who can give their music the bite it deserves, they'll really return to form. Especially if they fully realize fun songs again. People love the fun songs that Jimmy brought to the table, and as much as others might consider them novelties or think A7X is corny, those are songs that really shaped Avenged Sevenfold and made people love them. Cheesy is amazing when you double down on it. Only good when you're hesitant.
I think Yuliya will ultimately like a fair amount of music from each album. There will be adjustments needed on the first two because they're so outrageously heavy, but the other 5 have everything that could appeal to her. All 7 are great albums, all things considered. Diamonds in the Rough, too.

Matt is such a divisive feature of Avenged Sevenfold for a lot of people who dislike his nasality, but that tone is exactly what makes him iconic, imo. I don't think hating him makes any more sense than hating Axl Rose or Dave Mustaine, who completely changed the game when it came to rock and metal vocals. Mick Jagger meets Ziggy Stardust meets Steven Tyler meets Sid Vicious. Those quirky, raw vocal styles bring depth into the overall sound of a song. There's extra swagger and grit which really elevate the sound of the instruments as well. With A7X, it helps that the guitars have a symbiotic relationship where they're also functionally used as backing vocals. Nothing overtakes the song, and everything is highlighted in a specific way that people can instantly identify as being a trait of Avenged Sevenfold. M. Shadows is a unique part of how the entire band creates a song, and they wouldn't be the same without him. He's also able to channel the James Hetfield and Phil Anselmo manner of raw power, the controlled vibrato of Mike Patton, and that emotional croon of Chris Cornell. He's dynamic, if not the most universally pleasing singer. Well worth recognizing as a fantastic vocalist.

I know it's 2 years later but this is actually a patriotic, pro-America song because A7X are a more conservative band. This particular song is about the band Green Day, who won a Grammy and got tons of mainstream media love heaped on them for their leftist album 'American Idiot' from 2005. Avenged played a few festivals with Green Day during this time, and the anti-America, anti-veterans message repulsed A7X.
Green Day and lots of other rock bands suddenly started getting a lot more praise from the critics; they started becoming media darlings from out of nowhere around this time. It had nothing to do with their music. No, they still had the same uninspired, unoriginal songs as they always have, only now they were getting a lot more praise and plaudits for it because they were going on stage burning American flags and yelling deranged screeds against George W Bush. Avenged hated this. They wanted nothing to do with that movement.
That's why this song is called 'Critical Acclaim'. The radical political bands still hadn't improved. They were just saying "Fuck America" and the media hailed them as being geniuses for it.

I love anything by A7X. I could probably add them to a list of my favorite metal bands we were talking about the other night. Two more I should have mentioned were Killswitch Engage and Lamb of God. You don't have to react to them or anything but check them out sometime!
M. Shadows is very good at changing up his vocal style and pulling each one he does off flawlessly. He honestly sounds just about like this live too. (I miss concerts really badly). Great reaction, keep going and thank you as always!!

When It comes to politics people usually love just yelling and going back and forth
I think the most important thing for everyone to realize is that people have a reason for doing what they do. A lot of these young people enlist in the military because they believe they're fighting for freedom and the people they love. Whether it's what they're actually fighting for or not, it's a noble thing to love someone so much you'd be willing to kill or die for them. Not everyone in the armed forces is so honorable, but the ones who are, as human beings, deserve an incredible amount of respect. Politicians divide people, but people shouldn't divide each other, or blame each other for doing what they feel is right. Human beings usually feel they're in the right and doing things in their best interest aside from those who really hate seeing others living life peacefully, and I think all of us will benefit from being a positive force for those around us. Doing our best to build the ones around us up who need a little extra help, and showing people who put their own rights aside so others can thrive a little extra encouragement. We're all playing a game if we let ourselves hate others when we could inspire them to be a little less selfish. We could really have officials represent us who can change things and help us to live in peace if we just give each other a chance.

So, what a band did so bad that you don’t like them (after Rev passed away). It’s not their fault. I discovered them from “Nightmare”. And honestly like it, of course I need to know them much better to be able to hear the difference between with or without Rev (like Pink Floyd with Sid or with GILMOUR, or Pink Floyd without Roger). But still, sometimes I think it’s just weird to say - I don’t like a band after “black album”. Oh🍞🔫
I miss Jimmy.😢 I think he is one of the best drummers there ever was. Great musician overall. I didn't say I hate A7X after 2009, I just don't like them near as much as I did with Jimmy. And you mention Pink Floyd. I don't like Floyd as much without Roger. I always hated the feud between Roger and David that still goes on today. Wish they could get along. I STILL LIKED Pink Floyd when Roger left, but there is just so much missing without him.
A7X doesn't feel the same to me without Jimmy and a lot like Floyd without Roger I feel the music and songwriting suffered. Jimmy was a big part of all that.
Metallica I love up through the Master Of Puppets album. So no Black Album for me. Cliff was missed after MOP. I saw Metallica open twice for Ozzy just before Cliff died and still miss him as well. Not saying Metallica sucks after Master of Puppets, but just like the first 3 albums and tours best.
It happens with bands sometimes that you enjoy certain eras of the bands more than others. And sometimes band members leaving the band or dying affects the overall quality of the band.✌😘
A7X definitely have written differently since Nightmare. I don't think necessarily for worse. Not Ready to Die was the first song they wrote after the dust settled and it's easily in my opinion one of their best songs, though I do think they became kind of split on the last two albums when it came to deciding what they wanted to do. I don't fault them, considering the effect death has on a lot of people creatively. It feels like they restrained themselves on Hail to the King and The Stage and wanted to make a statement more than to just make great songs.

Everything before was about busting out great songs and exploring music for telling stories. There was a balance of saying something important with making absolute bangers. The sound dynamics were really fresh and the songs were full of energy. I think the band's next album might swing things since they have time to work on it and big factors that could influence it. If they have a great producer who can give their music the bite it deserves, they'll really return to form. Especially if they fully realize fun songs again. People love the fun songs that Jimmy brought to the table, and as much as others might consider them novelties or think A7X is corny, those are songs that really shaped Avenged Sevenfold and made people love them. Cheesy is amazing when you double down on it. Only good when you're hesitant.
I think Yuliya will ultimately like a fair amount of music from each album. There will be adjustments needed on the first two because they're so outrageously heavy, but the other 5 have everything that could appeal to her. All 7 are great albums, all things considered. Diamonds in the Rough, too.
