Thank you! It would be great to have this with a functional belt so I could tighten it properly. I'm 5'9 and a size 8 - 10, and tried the 8 and the hips were a bit tight but the waist enormous
Thank you! 🩷 the dress is so cute but it’s not a style that accentuates my best features. I do have some shirt dresses that I wear due to how effortless they look and feel, but for over $200 I decided to pass. Not the worst look but also not the best lol I feel that my body in general just looks so disproportionate, my shoulders look huge, my legs look tiny lol
Ohh the coffee is such a good one! The sage is definitely more special though, but I’m bias as I’m crazy for green😂! It’s a beautiful color, not too vibrant or right “on your face”. Hope you try and love it 😍
I have the ecru and navy striped Betty. I have similar measurements to you (34,30,40) and also have the size small. I love the gold buttons on the striped Betty. I was waiting to see your review for the sage to see if I would want to try. True sage is not flattering on me but the blue tone I think might look nice. As always, thank you for the video ❤
Ohhh the navy striped one is so beautiful!! I love the buttons too, they definitely look so special and more dressy than the other Betties. Yessss, real sage tone is more muted and warmer, also more on the pale side (I love it but it’s a terrible color for my skin tone 🥲). This one with the blue hues and a little more saturation seems like it will be flattering for most of us!
If you really look at Sezane designs they get that retro French look by designing to model-type figures. You aren't 5'10" and weigh 113 pounds. The average woman at 5'10" would weigh 135-160 lbs if you figure the standard of 100 pounds at 5 feet and 5 pounds for every inch of height afterwards. The normal woman has a waist that is 10 inches smaller than her hips, but Sezane designs for a waistline that is 11-12 inches smaller than the hips. If you look at other influencers, the pants and dresses look spectacular on very thin, tall women. On knitwear, it doesn't make any difference. Often, you'll see influencers that wear Sezane pants and they pull at the crotch. That is because they are designing to model figures and for a typical woman, the pants are too small from the waist to the crotch. Often the thigh portion of the pants are too tight. However, go up a size and on the average woman, all of the proportions of the garment are off. If you have them hemmed the rest of the garment still looks disproportionate and often in the larger size, the pants are a little gappy and baggy. So it isn't you. It's the fact that Sezane is not designing anything but knitwear for the average figure. Do you remember the LuLu dress I think it was called? It was rouched and gathered to one side--I think to the left hip. I have seen only one influencer thus far who could wear that dress. And she just lost 30 pounds, which is why the dress fit her so perfectly. So don't be disheartened. The correct message to send yourself is, "This article is designed for a model's figure, not mine. I am a real woman." And then go on your merry way and ignore it.
Absolutely! Wise words!! 👏🏼 I don’t feel disheartened at all, they’re just clothes after all :) I bring them and talk about them on the channel because I know a lot of women could benefit from the reviews before they try and see for themselves! I have been trying Sézane’s clothes for the past 2 years (almost weekly) and like you said, the best pieces that “fit all” are definitely knits. When it comes to long dresses and pants, it can be really tricky. I have a 13 inch (30cm) gap between my waist and hips, so it’s something I experience with pretty much every brand, honestly. Their designs are not for 11-12 inches ratio (waist x hips) otherwise they’d fit me a lot better 🥲 Jeans are a nightmare for me - I gave up on Sézane jeans a long time ago, but some of their other pants worked well actually (Loulou, Matthew, Martin, Dan trousers). I recently discovered Abercrombie curve love and I’ve been so happy with their bottoms, they fit so well. I think Sézane’s cut is for the average woman, except for the crazy length (sometimes extremely long and other times sooo short). When I check photos in the Facebook groups and Instagram, I see that most bottoms/dresses that don’t work for me actually look lovely on others. Anyways, I think they should at some point add petite /regular lengths as well as curvy cuts to reach a larger number of women and potential costumers. They have such lovely styles, it’s a shame!
I’m not sure I agree. I’m 5’4 and I’m still able to wear most sezane pieces. As far as weight, they have larger sizes, most of their pieces are slightly oversized anyway. Just watch reviews of people with a similar body type and you can find a few gems ❤
I did size up in the Betty for a slightly more relaxed look and to fit other tops underneath. I had to size up in the patchwork jacket. And yes, those patchwork pants have the weirdest shape - I'm 5'9 so length wise I can pull it off, but the waist is wayyyy too big.
Ohh thank you for the feedback!! It’s great to hear from someone who is tall and has tried on these pants. I’m sure it will help a lot of people ☺️ I tried Betty a size up, a size down and my usual size too and I agree with you! A size up is definitely easier to style and pair with tops underneath! Oh man, those pants, I didn’t even want to look at them 😂 I ended up keeping the jacket, but I wish the set worked out! Did you keep the pants?
@@milainnewyork Kept the jacket too! but in a size up (I have broad shoulders, so my normal size is better on the waist but makes my shoulders look unflattering, but love the patchwork so sizing up is worth it). Couldn't keep them - the waist is SO LARGE that it just looked super unflattering. Wish they put an actual real functional belt in (rather than the stitched version), it would make it way more wearable for a lot of people. I tried a size 8 (Im between a 8 - 10 for pants) and the waist was already hugeeee and the hips a bit tight, so sizing down is not an option. Such a bummer, I'd love to have this as a set
I aaaalmost got the striped one too 🙈 it’s so beautiful! I had other striped knits I had recently gotten so I passed 🥲 The sage is gorgeous, hope you love it as much as I do 😍😍😍
I have the Betty in the vibrant green and I love it, it is a very flattering fit and style on me. I sized up to a medium and I thought the slightly larger size was more flattering.
The green is stunning! Such a beautiful shade of green! 💚 I sized up when I tried on the yellow, it’s definitely a more relaxed fit and easier to style/pair with other pieces underneath. ☺️
Best to Handwash it or the wool program - be sure to take a wool detergent or a mild shampoo, otherwise it will felt. Do never put it in the tumble dryer. Then you will be happy with it for years to come.
It’s so beautiful! I hope you love it! Merino wool shrinks so I’d wash it by hand, room temperature. When you dry, make sure you just squeeze the excess water and lay flat on a towel. Let it air dry! You can stretch the knit with your own hand to make sure it keeps its shape as it was before you washed it. I use woolite, it’s a good detergent for delicate fabrics as well as wool!
I am here to join the team😅Also got Navy and Coffee. Waiting for my Sage to arrive next week. And really trying to resist, but my eye is on Rosewood and Ecru/navy once the latter is back in stock. It is a true obession😂
@@milainnewyorkTeam Betty here too. I have Rosewood and Ecru and just ordered the Sage! Somebody stop me! 😂. I know I will get a lot of use from all the colors. Thnx for all your Sezane reviews!

Thank you so much for showing the clothing worn by YOU and for including your height and measurements. I so appreciate you.❤
Thank you mentioning whether items are cool toned or warm toned. I find that very helpful.
I think the Leontine dress looked amazing on you, just like you wore it here, not with a belt.

Mila, thanks so much for this review! I've been waiting to get Betty in Coffee but it has been out stock for such a long time! Might give Sage a shot.

It’s so beautiful! You can’t go wrong with either color though, both are gorgeous! ☺️
I have the Betty in the bright blue and I love it. I might get the sage or the rosewood one for this fall because it's just a very versatile piece.
The bright blue is stunning! Hope you love the sage too, such s gorgeous color!!
I actually own both of these now! The sage is amazing!
@@psygeek961 Excellent! I think that the Betty is one of their best pieces.
