- Welcome to a new playthrough of Mega Man Network Transmission for the Gamecube. You guys selected this in the polls held awhile back, so here it is.
This game takes place one month after the events of Mega Man Battle Network 1, as seen in the intro cutscene here. Lan and Mega Man have successfully put an end to WWW's plans, but now strange things seem to be going on. Net Navis are going haywire, and a new virus named the Zero Virus has entered the scene. Who is behind all of this? It's up to Lan and Mega Man to solve this mystery!
Synopsis:
"In the "network era" everyone has handheld, personal terminals called PETs. Inside the PETs are mini-robots called a NET NAVI. These artificial robots can zip through cyberspace in an instant to explore and find things or even perform various tasks.
Unfortunately, computer viruses are rampant within the network and people have begun to equip their NET NAVI with fighting programs, known as battle chips, to protect themselves.
Now even the NET NAVI with battle chips are no longer safe, because a new virus is in town - the ZERO virus. This virus attacks the NET NAVIS directly and weakens their ability to perform and protect.
It's up to you to help Mega Man and his friends stop this vicious virus from spreading any further, and maybe put an end to viruses once and for all.

This was one of my first nintendo gamecube game along with Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 3 and Zelda 4 game Collection when I was at 8th grade. That was such an epic day (after school) getting the gamecube and 3 games at that same day in one shot!
Was fun and challenging. Good old days. Still have my Gamecube and this game.

no matter how hard i tried i couldn't beat the fire guy at the age of 7. sigh.
The trick is to slide move under his legs to dodge his ranged attack and get the shoop away from him as he telegraphs the ball of pain.
I used a program advance sword to beat him

Man does this bring back memories. Had this as a kid was never any good at it. Eventually got rid of my GameCube and a bunch of older systems. Recently I bought an original model Wii because I had an itch to reexperince some older games. This is definitely one I have to pick back up. I loved the Battle Network games on GBA.

fun fact, there are actually 2 of them for the battle network series (platformers, good god theres over a dozen otherwise) the otherone was exclusive to the wonderswan color.

This did traumatise me in my childhood.
When people complain about Capcom cancelling Megaman games or not treating the IP the way they feel it should be treated, I point out the ABSURDLY underwhelming sales of this game. After a game this good sold this poorly, why would Capcom have faith that future titles would be worth completing?
Most likely bad advertising, I know this message was 11 years ago but games like sonic and mario sell good because well its more advertised while this is just released with not much advertising

A Network Transmission 2 would be awesome..
It can be difficult at times, but overall I enjoyed it, and thought it was worth the $15 I payed for it a long time ago. It might be even cheaper now. But you can always stay tuned to this playthrough series or watch other gameplay videos on TH-cam to help form your own opinion on the game.

Interesting concept. Until now I always thought this was a regular Battle Network game.
And the crotch lasers... I remembered Sigma's second form from Mega Man X7 right away.

even with action replay cheats, this game was insanely hard
You raise a good point, sir. However, earlier I was reading that this game had quite a bit of criticism when it first came out. Some of those things reviewers complained about were the unbalanced difficulty curve, and "unnecessary cell shading" graphics. If not for that, then there's also another thing to consider; that Capcom may have done little to market the game. I dunno about everyone else, but I never knew of the game's existence until I saw it a video rental store by accident years ago.

Well, technically it's not really a GBA Battle Network game. First it's not on the GBA but on the gamecube, and while it does have the Battle Network characters, it's essentially a Classic Mega Man game.

I remember how Fireman fought like he was on crack. Plus I think with this kind of learning curve, they don't show you the rank at the end of the mission ala Zero series, which I think is more brutal in honesty. Plus this game shows character development, as shown as apparently his mom dislikes Netto for interfering with pop's work.
This is a really odd game in my view, but it still seems cool and would be nice if they made one like this for Starforce, but with how Capcom is any more with Megaman. I really don't see that happening.

Ironically enough, this was also how I found out about it, I saw that it was a megaman game and though it looked pretty cool so I decided to rent it and thought it was very good and still do, how anyone could say this game is bad is weird to me since the incorporation of chips made things a bit more exciting and the game starts out slow but gets faster as it goes.
It's actually elements from the classic series. Mega Man Classic could slide, X and Zero dash. And there's no wall climbing to be found in this game, like in the Classic series.

Awesome. I love this game... Well, I love any MMBN game. The only thing I wish was different is for the ability for Lan to leave his room and explore. Nevertheless, its still a fun game.
And I don't mean the Double Team DS voices, the voices from the english dubbed anime.

Classic and Battle Network series... because those are the series this game pulls elements from. Just a fact, not opinion. If you're looking for near exact replicas of this game, there was Rockman EXE WS, which obviously didn't release outside of Japan. (At least I hope that's what you're asking.)

Yoo my grandma bought me this game for Christmas when I was like 5 and I didnt play it until I was 7 because I thought it was lame lol it took me 2 years to beat this shit cause it was so hard lmao im 20 now and its still the best game ever and that soundtrack is AGELESS

vanguardduelist No. Megaman EXE is voiced by Akiko Kimura who voice him in the anime series. In fact they got the voice cast for the anime to do their respective characters in this game.
