Oh guys, internet critics!!🙄 people need to just do their own life and stop trying to do yours. I made plenty of mistakes raising my kiddos and thank goodness I wasn’t being critiqued at every turn. Anyone can see that you are a happy and balanced family with love and respect for each other. And all you armchair critics, remember, not every thought you have needs to spoken! Take care Tribe🥰

I want to say thank you to both of you for saying how you pray when you and your spouse are not on the same page. My husband and I disagree on some things and I never thought to pray for a change in his heart or mine. So thank you for this. I just recently started going back to church with my 8 year old and I thought I knew everything about praying but I see that it’s not just what you pray for it’s how you pray for it. That was a real eye opener for me, so thank you!!

I am a very confrontational person but the Lord has shown me lately how I have won more battles on my knees in prayer than I have through an argument. I now have a peace of mind that I never had before. If someone irritates me, I just pray in my heart for them and for me, and the atmosphere just begins to change.

I can definitely relate to the woman with the anger problem. With my wife going through a medical issue right now and me working 2 jobs being the sole breadwinner, I get agitated a lot. What helps me is that when I'm at work and get irritated, I ask myself "Who am I doing this for?" Then I remember that my family depends me and it gets me motivated and stay focused.

We have to help structure our kids healthy habits and eating habits. They don’t have the self awareness for many things, especially food wise. We don’t let our children get too much of one thing until they eat more of other things on their plate. We aren’t depriving our kids by not letting them eat too much of one thing! It’s a balance! We are just helping them find that balance! As parents that is our job!

To the newly single mom of the 17 yr. old son. I too am a single mom of a 21, 19, 17, and 9 yr. old. My kids are doing great and following the Lord. I completely agree with Sarah about focusing on the relationship. Here are some "rules" I have written out when it comes to raising teens:
Make sure they know you love them unconditionally! Make sure they know there is nothing that they could do that would stop you from loving them. Make sure they hear you say, “I love you” every day.
Expect great/honorable things from them. They will rise to it if they know you believe in their capability to reach it.
Be willing to have the argument. Don’t bank down. Don’t leave things unresolved.
As soon as you recognize, you are wrong admit it to them and apologize, regardless of what they do.
    Listen more than you speak.
In the midst of an argument, do not get sidetracked. Stay on topic. Don’t let them try to deflect and derail.
Fully, hear them out, even if you don’t like what is being said.
Always be honest with them, but make sure to do it with kindness.
    Hold them accountable.
Do not let attitudes go unchecked without calling them out and if need be, consequences.
When they don’t like something you are doing/requiring, make sure you let them know that their best interests and character are your top priorities. You are not making decisions just to make them miserable.
    Follow through with the consequences.
Calmly, don’t back down from what you have said is going to happen. However, always be willing to change something if you see that you might be being unreasonable. It is a delicate balance.
Show genuine interest in their interests.
Check yourself and make sure that you are not disciplining or giving consequences out of anger, or trying to get back at them in any way.
Realize that they are going to do/say things that will be hurtful to you. However, you need to choose forgiveness for things that they won’t understand until they are far into adulthood.
When they really mess up in a big way, and they know it. Extend tons and tons of forgiveness and grace.
Be willing to answer any and all questions. There is no topic off-limits.
When answering these make sure to ask questions to find out what they’re truly wanting to know. Don’t just assume and then overshare.
Don’t be surprised if a topic comes up that you never thought about before.
    Have fun with them!

Homeschooling mom of nine here...I think “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”. My kids aren’t perfect by any means, but when a parent chooses to disciple and have their kid’s whole heart from a very young age, keeping them CLOSE, there aren’t as many band aids to put on in the teenage years. My husband and I are loving the teenage years with four of them. Good advice though Solo and Sarah for those who have not had the privilege of discipleship from the beginning. May God bless this ministry! (I can’t believe you had to explain about the steaks! Hats wild. My kids aren’t allowed two steaks in a sitting.😂) merry Christmas!!!

7:34 ,Parents should help limit their children’s consumption of food. Many times kids eat as long as the food tastes good-they don’t understand that it takes a while for the body to register satiety. It is our job to help them learn.
Helping children to understand that is education, not deprivation.

I'm a Florida homeschooling mom with 3 kids in college. We, the parents, issue the high school diploma and it carries the exact same weight as a school- issued diploma. You are 100% right that the transcript and SAT/ACT test schools are really the important part. And by important, I mean for admission and scholarships in competitive colleges. For non-competitive colleges, it matters less.

Talk talk talk even if you feel he is not hearing you. It’s amazing what they hear without being conscious of it. Also say what you mean and more importantly mean what you see.

Don’t give negative people your time or energy. We watch your channel regularly, we know your children are loved and cared for. If you know something isn’t true do not feed into it. Continue with the awesome work you are doing.

As weird as this sounds I really struggle with mom guilt over what I think other people think about my parenting, and it was so validating to hear that you have your times with that too because you’re such a wonderful mother and kind person and I have so much admiration for you.

As a mom I deal with it too. We homeschool as well and have gotten so many negative comments from family and friends and it can get into your head after a while. I think it adds to the pressure we as parents already feel to do our best, and the eventuality of mistakes we will make along the way can compound on that pressure. I think this is true especially when you have an alternative approach to parenting. That's why it's so vitally important to have a support network and friends who share your values.

I knew it! The Lord whispered to me, to watch you guys this morning... I would receive your word in a question someone else asked!
The question of being overwhelmed with caring for others and their needs...I needed help with that! LOL!!
Sometimes, I feel stretched to the limit, and I don't know how to be there for ALL of my loved ones.
I don't have any little children, but my husband is losing his vision and I have two older children with physical and mental challenges, that depend on me a lot.
Thank you both, Sarah and Solo, for being here...💖💖💞💞
Good luck with the sale of the BIG house!
May the good Lord continue to bless you!🙏🙏

I come from such a different background - I am Jewish and in my 40s and have 2 boys - but I love watching your videos very much. You are such an inspiration with your down to earth, balanced, thoughtful advice. You have built a wonderful channel that is all about your family without exploiting your children. Thank you for being a wonderful part of my days.

I love watching your channel! On the topic of your child eating 2 steaks… children need protein.. my 3 grandchildren are meat eaters, my Grandson is 12 he’s 5’12” tall, he’s a good eater and his parents prefer he eat all protein, fresh fruits & vegetables and NO CARBS! I tell my Son to buy 1/2 a cow… everything at the grocery store is so expensive now. My Daughter in Law is a homeschooling parent..she’s has her degree in teaching and decided to home school her children. I’m so proud of parents who can homeschool. I wish I’d had the knowledge when I was young. Keep up the great work! God bless you forever!

Such a wonderful answer to the mom struggling with her teen. It can be such a hard time for all! I wish i had done more of that. I was a bit overreactive - my brother had died in a car accident when he was 23 that involved drinking. I was so afraid that something like that would happen to my son that I probably just made demands rather than discussed. The past and fears can certainly cast a shadow over your thinking! I think prayer would have helped! Thanks for your wonderful answer to other moms struggling!
