"Fun" fact: usually players are given 20 reinforcement beacons before cooldowns kick in. Meaning that Helldivers deploy by platoons of 24. Likewise usually in best case scenario only 4 players evacuate as that's the game format. Meaning that typical Helldiver losses are 83% per mission. ON A GOOD DAY.

Considering there are 4 destroyers per squad and each destroyer technically holds 4 hellpods, a full squad of helldivers consist of 16 helldivers. Really hope if they not gonna fix the difficulty we will one day be able to drop with 16 people. Or at least a mod will allow us to like in DRG.

I know this goes without saying but don’t stand under your mech with its being deployed and be conscious where it being deployed since it dropped on my head when I was many yards away. I didn’t see it coming.
Especially in an exosuit, keep a respectable distance from the pelican and visually check or you'll get checked by a wing or something. A de-limbed corpse can be flung pretty far you know.

In essence, reverse that creed : the trees should no longer speak binary, they should speak pure freedom. You become the trees.

You forgot the "Creeker" basically the Malevelon Creek Survivor, but THEY LIKE IT. The Creeker is an insane being who has lost all humanity, constantly repeating the phrase "Spill Oil" and taking out objectives and bots with mechanical efficiency. In their efforts to take out the robot menace they have become but bots of flesh, bone, and hate.
That...was ironically me, despite being the server rookie. While my veteran buddies feared the Creek like recurring trauma, I actually enjoyed being shot and raising hell in response. Diving into hell? Nah, I'll raise hell to me.
Aaaaand that led to a very quick grind up to Level 50.

When i joined up, it was about just after the start of the battle for Malevelon Creek. And my first Helldive was Malevelon Creek.
I was so naive to think glory awaited me during that drop to the planet surface. To be blunt, I've never seen the eastern front. The only way i will is when there's no longer any bots to kill.

I joined up later some time after the war had begun. I am a proud bug exterminator, it is my specialty.
My first contact with the automatons was in the Creek.
Which probably explains why my play style is almost exactly the same as the Creek Survivor, except for Terminids. I grab my flamethrower/arc thrower and grenade launcher and let the others do the objectives while I tackle the biggest nests alone.
We will take back the Creek one of these days and avenge our fallen brothers and sisters... Spill oil a hundred fold. For Super Earth!

The automatons are preparing for a large-scale offensive and we need to close the issue with thermides by establishing a quarantine zone as soon as possible. Otherwise, it threatens a war on two fronts. Although the authorities call the battle for Mavelon Creek and Dropnir a liberation operation, at the moment we are only conducting local sabotage operations.

As a veteran from the first galactic war against the bugs, squid fuckers, and the meat toasters I have to say that there is a couple phenotypes not mentioned here but namely one me and the boys back when liked to call the “roletide gentleman” or more commonly the “fuck yeah: guy”
They were the most experienced of us all and looked at every impossible odd as just a game that they could conquer.
I once entered the barracks of a “fuck yeah” and saw endless illuminate eye parts turned lava lamps and desk, hive lord mandibles mounted on the wall, and a whole ass armory full of intact borg cannons… these were all simply fuckin trophies to this guy.

I believe I am the shell-shocked one because I was on one of the automaton planets on a suicide mission and my teammate brought 3 dropships worth of enemies towards me before dying. used a mech and just barely survived alone and when the adrenaline rush ran out, I just shakily asked my teammates " I thought automatons had oil, why am I covered in blood?" they just said it was mine
As a Malevelon Creek survivor, who was fighting there since I was a Baby Cadet, I can surely say that encapsulates what I've become.
And it was then on that the eyes that shined bright with democratic patriotism were reduced to nothing more than flickers powered only by spilled oil, orbital hellfire and the blood of slain brothers and sisters... never forget the creek
Honestly, I'm a malevolvent creek vet but you can still see me meming around. Some of my team mates watch me survive the most stupidest thing and I just loom at them and go "I have super samples, fuck dying."

Cool I got Grizzled Veteran with a heart. I don't care if the Supply Pack is as sexy as a fanny pack, it gets brought on field trips.
That supply pack looks awfully sexy when you get double cooldown times as a mission modifier, and the only thing standing between you and a horde of Hunters is an MG down to a single mag.
@@JacobByusthe supply pack is also a tad op as fuck. Let me explain. First off its just mobile supply, essentially 8 more grenades, 8 more stims, a ton more mags, and also rockets.
Then theres its resupply interaction. If you have an empty resupply pack, and are missing ammo, grenades, stims, when you pick up from normal resupply, it will BOTH give ammo grenades stims AND refill a supply pack square.
@@callumprice1710 The supply pack is GOOD, but I wouldn't say OP. It still relies on supply drops that you have to share with other players, and it takes up a backpack space that could be used with the bubble shield, recoilless rifle, or the auto canon.
Still pretty good though if you want to run a Stalwart or MG, with EATs and a Railcanon Strike.
I'd say it is fairly balanced for a "squad gunner" role if you are the only one using it, with other people running other packs for different jobs.
@@JacobByus it doesn't rely on resupply drops at all though. It comes fully stocked itself. And you can use it on yourself. Also personally, I've never really died in situations where the shield would have saved my life. I die when I'm overrun by a swarm completely most often, and the shield doesn't really fix that situation. Neither does supply pack, but with supply pack extra stims, I'm much more mobile, and get caught by the swarms less.
@@callumprice1710 It starts fully stocked, yes. But it will eventually need to be refilled, which can get a bit chaotic on higher difficulties with double cooldowns and people sometimes calling in the pod while you are not around.

went straight to automatons because of the fall of Malevalon Creek to help win it back, personally I find the bugs more difficult due to their numbers whilst the automatons I can usually handle, although I am doing the tier 3 missions presently since I finally learned how to adjust difficulty and intend to actually be of help to the war effort instead of dead meat walking without being able to achieve our objectives. I will say though holding against the automatons can be painful with those grenades when they throw 20+

The automatons are easier than the bugs tho. I go to level 8-9 missions on the western front to relax and earn some things after an horrifying and stressful bug mission of ceaselessly getting run over by dozens and dozens of hunters spawning from thin air and calling in more bugs.

Bugs are harder than the bots on higher difficulties simply because they rush you and are more tanky with less accessible weak points. Also Hunter spam.

Protect the cadets, and escort them through the Creek. There's no soft way to experience, but there should always be a guide to lead you out of it. As Vergil did for Dante.

I just want to say I love how immersed the Helldivers community is. Everyone is fully involved and playing into its propaganda. There’s still some undesirables, but this is the most fun I’ve had with a game’s community in a while.

Being from the first war, Yeah. I’m the veteran. And all my Helldiving kin will follow me into the depths of the creek come hell or high water.

When I first started playing, it was on Malevelon Creek. I was forged in the fires of that war.. All else is simply child's play to me. I did dozens of missions alone, threw down so many SOS beacons, but no one came to help.
There's a fifth. The Diver who has fallen in love with warfare. Some call him heroic, others call him insane. We call him a Death Captain
In Helldivers 1 these are the low ranked divers who go balls deep into the max difficulty of the game. Those are some insane people.
I think at this point, I'm the grizzled veteran with a heart. It's what I always become with these types of games. I go in, help out those with trouble and even go on lower difficulties to help teach newbs tips and tricks to getting better. What I always do is compliment though. Someone pulls out a clutch, I say "good job". Someone makes a mistake. "Don't worry about it, I'm a contact mine magnet too."
Remember, a compliment can make someone's day.
Positive reinforcement, people often underestimate how effective it is.

Same, these Creekers survivors think they are tough guys and that they have seen it all. They haven't. Nothing can prepare these Creekers to the neurological shenanigans of the Illuminates. The Ministry of Defense will have to awaken the old veterans to deal with them.
You do get to the point where sometimes it feels like you're playing with the three stooges.
Case in point:
Having your stratagems be available while waiting for extract is a -good- thing.
I was playing a game where the main objective was largely accomplished by me. It was a blitz mission against the bots.
Complex strategems, so call-ins took longer and it would take 4 minutes for the shuttle to land.
At the 6 minute mark for the super destroyer to leave, I book it across to the extraction point. I get there, and I watch on radar as my 3 teamates just...seem to not notice how little time is left.
Now, I usually prefer to call for extract while we'll have complete super destroyer coverage, in case of needing respawn and definitely for stratagems, but this time I waited until the 2 minute mark (keeping the extract zone clear) before calling it in. I figured having it for half the time would be better than nothing.
Keep in mind, it was about a 2 minute run from where my teammates were. As far as I could see, there were no bots between them and extraction, and it was a 4 minute wait for the shuttle. Plenty of time in a straight run.
The next thing I notice is one dickhead in chat complaining that I called the extract while they weren't there, and then I was kicked.
Literally, they were too stupid to realize they had plenty of time to get to the extract, and that trying to extract with no respawn and no strategems -sucks-.
They might have been planning to do a last second run in.
Where they only arrive just in time fore the automatically called in pelican, and thus avoid needing to defend the extract zone. It's popular in some cases on higher difficulties where the waves of enemies can wear you down fast across the extended call in time even with strategems, and especially so vs bugs where they can literally swarm the point and body block the shuttle.
If they were they should have told you though, and the kicking wasn't called for in this case.
@IainDoherty51 Only time I've had that issue is when bug holes or bot factories that are close to the extract aren't taken care of.
That maneuver is also extremely risky, because if you get held up and pushed back, you don't have time to try to break through.
Had a game a few nights ago, on challenging so not a high difficulty, where we got trapped on the final objective location by near continuous waves of bots. We literally couldn't push out to get to the extraction point for a full 5 minutes because they literally did not stop. We'd decided to play on challenging so we could have a chill game and just have some fun, but it ended up being harder than suicidal.
We had 16 minutes when we finished the final objective. We had 11 by the time we could start pushing out. We had 6 minutes before we even got half way. And then the game crashed :P
So if the same thing happened when you're trying to make it in the auto-extract window, you're basically SOL.
You stand a much better chance of extracting if you have strategems to use.

I am both the Grizzled Vet with a heart and the Creek Crawler. I can clear level 7 suicide missions solo and will go clear side and main objectives if the team can handle themselves. But if I’ve got cadets or sergeants I’m showing them the ropes, calling objectives and talking them through everything as best I can.
Yep, in HD2 you have the liberty to wander off and do your own thing. But good luck doing the same with sergeants and liutenants on your squad in HD1 hahahahahaha. Their inexperience will be the bane of your existence. Even captain divers will make your missions become rough if you play on the top ones.
As a veteran of the first game and a Malevelon Creek Survivor...that battle was nothing like what I had trained for back in the day....

You can tell a LOT of the newer players are still in their baby cadet phase cuz they say things like "Bugs are actually harder than bots on Helldive"
I'm still only Lv26 so I'm reckon I'm plenty new still, but I find bots a lot more managable than bugs when soloing Helldive.
Me: "THE TREES ARE SPEAKING BINARY!!" *happily blows up huge nests with ease, clears out half the map on my own stealthing around with granade launcher and mega lasers*
Hubby: 'okay kids, whille mom is off handling all the side objectives, ill walk you through how to do the main one, okay? Timmy get in the mech and suzy pick up that shield, you'll need it"
Average time as me and hubby party up with newbies for funsies, super credits and metals~
Dont forget 5th type. The sacrificial one sprints into hundreds of bugs/automotons while yelling "DEMOCRACYYYYYY" and usually holding an eagle strategem
I was on the creek mode. level 4 and the whole squad quit. It was a civilan escort misson. I think mad bullets for like 5mins total, I was still trying to get people past the hail of bullets well after the super destroyer left. Most didn't make, I spilled so much oil it caused an ecological disaster. No other help came for them.
Those automatons just wait till all ths cod and Halo veterans join

I really like Helldivers 2, but to celebrate the PC port of Ghost of Tsushima Directors cut, I’ll be getting the platinum trophy again.
I love how to be a proper HellDivers, the game just throws you onto the wolves just by how the difficulty spikes on the game for the sake of more medals and special samples. What comes out a week before is a different person now.

Once you embrace the stealth and come to terms that you are disposable and there is nothing more important than finishing the damn mission, only then you are ready to start diving onto creek. Light infiltrator armor is your friend, orbital or eagle smoke screen is your guardian angel, anti-matteriel rifle is your fucking god and eagle airstrike is the sword he's holding. Keep close to the ground, and remember, the trees may speak binary, but if you listen they might just tell you where your enemies are.
I'm in awe how the Manny losses in the creek are giving birth to spec-ops divers.

I find it easy, you always hear patrols before you see them which means you can either set yourself up in the perfect ambush position or slink away undetected
Before the creek: The bugs were fun! I'm excited to get into fighting the robots too!
After the creek: "hell is not some firey pit. Its a humid cesspool. With trees, that speak binary"

funny thing is i find spilling oil easier than creating oil. the bugs have so much damn slow and so many ways to apply it.
It's just funny, just bloody funny how the eastern front is the synonim of hell but here is not.
i was there when the creek fell as an observer, I am yet to decide I am willing to drop in.
I was at the Creek as reinforcements. Helping retake the planet after it was lost. There were whole squads of Helldivers that had never left the planet, they would not leave the Creek undefended. They fought with what ever their could find and had the heart of liberty.
They were the best soldiers I ever fought with. It’s a shame most new recruits don’t sign up for the western front.
My first helldiver died light years ago, we survived the helldivers training together, it all happened in the second deployment, me and my boy were surrounded in a nest of those dirty insects and they tore the poor thing to pieces in seconds, regret comes to my mind when I remember

As someone who came to the game relatively late, and jumped feet first in to Malevelon Creek, I say with certainty that I now have grey hairs from the horrors of that damn creek. We need backup… desperately.
I have 59 hours and 1 friendly fire incident, which was intentional when I had to fight a Helldiver who answered an S.O.S only to immediately try to murder me for my rail gun after dropping.
If you have many friendly fire incidents on your record it's not because it's hard to avoid killing your friends, but rather because you do not value the sanctity of life and think it's fun to throw 500kgs at your allies feet.
I want a comedy action sitcom about these archetypes being in the same squad.
As a new Helldiver, I've adopted the phenotype of 'Pyromaniac' thank you very much.

Dood, I love lvl 6 and lvl 7 for bugs and automatons it’s like an action movie as they try to pincer you from both sides, they get so damn bad near the end as the team tries to finish within 20 min but man does it get fun lol

It sure goes, but I'm afraid Creek survivors are also not ready for the incoming southern front.
I was there when Creek falled. My ship was destroyed when I was on the planet doing and suicide mission alone. I survived weeks, if not months, alone with nothing but my personal equipment. I fought like a mad dog. When I was greeted, no one remembered me.
But that's fine, I don't deserve a medal, I'm here now only to protect my fellow helldivers with everything I have.
(It happened that I was on Creek when the automaton destroyed my ship, and simply I imagine that my helldiver went missing, now traumatised, he help new helldivers on the west front.)
You go from high highs, to low lows, there's no in between.
It's all fun and games until you drop in the middle of 3 chokepoints against terminators and they start calling in reinforcement the second you drop down, when you are used to drop all your supplies and weapons before engaging in combat.
This is nothing like the bugs!

Then there's the ones so trauma-drunk they throw all forms of self-preservation to the wind in hopes of a glorious exit.
