- Love Leopard Geckos? Well so do we! In this episode, Jeff LeClere visits the legendary Ron Tremper who shows us some of the amazing geckos in his facility and gives us some husbandry and breeding tips as well! Welcome to Herpers TV!
Great responses everyone! We apologize for a break in posting new videos. We've had some software glitches in our studio. New episodes will resume on July 21st, so tune in then!
I only keep and breed leopard geckos but I only have a small breeding group of 3 females and 1 male right now but I really enjoy it. I have also bred eastern box turtles and 5 lined skinks.
This dude is a legend. Have a few of his geckos. Will keep on getting them
36 generations of leos. Congrats Ron!
This video alone has got me hooked on Leopard geckos especially at 9:53 thank you Dav for making this video & Tremper for showing his facility around
Ron Tremper is a giant, no wonder he produced Moose.
Cute little gems!!! If I could have only one type of lizard, it would be the Leopard Gecko.
Awesome video, I'm a huge fan of Ron Tremper. Thank you.
Great show! I grew up in Boerne with Ron as my mentor, great guy, and he has some awesome stuff!
I really love this video. Its a nice lesson of one of the most important person in this hobby, the great Ron. Every time I watch this video I learn new things.
Nice!!!
Glad you're enjoying it. I may have to go back one day and film the rest of his collection!
Great responses everyone! Keep them coming!
The Reptile Channel - HerpersTV I keep my leopard geckos identical to the way he keeps his. No substrate and a water, food and supplement dish. Mine will start mating in February.
My girlfriend and I just bought into Ron's newest discovery the Pastel leopard gecko. There are a whole bunch of people who are super anxious and excited to see what you can create with it, but so far everything i've seen shows amazing promise. I can't wait till hatching season next year! :)
Leachianus Gecko. I’ve got pine islands and they’re wicked chill. Thanks Steve from LL.
Great episode, real nice flow and covered good stuff in a short time. Thank you for doing this and keep up the great work.
COOL SHOW DAV. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE MORE GECKOS BREEDERS.
Thanks! We'll film more then!
Brilliant video
I love the show so far especially the people you've chosen to interview
Thank you Sam. We try to do subjects that cover the entire field of being a herper.
My first reptile is a Orange Tremper Gecko...love him:D,love geckos.....cool animals:D
Excellent information on this video especially about leaving the scent trail and supplementation you guys definitely need a frog segment most importantly Kim Thomas at the frog ranch
+rocsteady777 We agree and will look into it! Thanks for the suggestion!
Great video! Mine reptile will be the Leaf Tail Gecko.
woww crazyy i wish he showed his giants and super giants..but i can see why that one is his fav
Thank you for sharing. i love this video. keep recording.
regards from Indonesia
Great vid
My Black and White Argentine Tegu. She's amazing.
I am having such a hard time finding the containers used in these videos. It seems that all of the 28qt tubs and shoebox tubs these days are so similar in height that it would appear that the gecko would not be able to fit to climb in the top. Look at the 05:23 mark and you will see that there is plenty of head room for the gecko to climb in. Its just not so with currently made containers.
great video
my lizard I could only keep it would be a super snow leopard gecko!
Another type of lizard I like is the Bell's form of the lace monitor.
Those are awesome monitors!
If I were to keep only one lizard species, I would choose the leopard gecko as well.
An Argentine B&W Tegu would be the one type of lizard I would want to keep :))
Black Pearl !!!!
Nice
The Platinum is my favorite
Nice vid I would keep a leachie cause they get big
I wasv going to say that lol damn!!! But a cresti
Sunglow!
i would have super hypo tangerine carrottails
If i could keep anything id have a bunch of fiji iguanas. There awsome and not legal to keep but i think with captive breeding programs everyone could enjoy them as pets in there homes.
I wanna see a whole bunch of ksbs
Leopard geckos are the shit
Only 1 lizard in my collection it would have to be a Godzilla Super Giant Leopard Gecko.
For the question asked if I could keep one type of lizard in my collection it be a hypo zero bearded dragon
leopard gecko no doubt
Does anyone have a link to the powdered supplement Ron was talking about?
Good day sir can i ask something regarding the morph of leopard gecko
you guys should come to Wapakoneta Ohio and film me looking for snakes for an episode of herper's tv
We'll consider that! What herps do you find in the field there?
How's that supplement spelled? I can't seem to find it anywhere?
There are 2 kinds of lizards I want. the thorny devil, And a little dragon I think that's the name.
If we could only keep one lizard species in our collection, beyond a doubt it would be blue tongue skinks. (But don't make us choose between the sub-species! ;] )
Oh my.
hey what incubators do u use
Tuatara!!!:)
If I could only keep one species of lizard it'd definitely have to be Heloderma suspectum
Gila monster. We had one in our backyard a few weeks ago. I relocated him to an area without homes nearby. I live in northern AZ.
And I gave him a meal before relocation.
You should do a video on carpet pythons
asian water monitor have three of them there amazing animals
Ron tremper I wish 1 day i have bold stripe😍😍😍
One reptile? Green Iguanas
It would probably be a Leo.
Are Ron Tremper and Phil Tremper related?
When is the next Leopard gecko video from a pro like Ron or Steve or John or etc
Working on it! I'll get out to Steve's place as soon as I can!
Does he leave calcium in a bowl for the babies?
He does with all of them, so they have it when they need it.
I do the same
I know this video is a decade old.
BUT!
If anyone happens to see this, what kind of dog and cat supplements are we supposed to use for geckos?
I need to know!
Only 1 type of lizard what would i keep? hmm....komodo dragons or Varanus varius Bells phase i think ;)
The Bell's phase is awesome!!!
Anyone know of a fairly decent price guide for the many different Leopard Gecko morphs?
I would think that because they change often from supply/demand, a price guide would become outdated faster than the effort to create it would be worth.
Leopard geckos
Do a episode on hollow herps. Jeff L.
Jeff is a great guy. We'll be reaching out to him for sure.
When's the next show
I would give an arm for a Perenti Monitor
so i have an question to ask i own an leopard gecko mine famale she is pick about food i got her superwarm she wont eat she will eat hornwarm she love those i being try to get her to eat superwarm what best way get her eat supperwarm
Try something else like crickets, and if she isn't interested in food, try warming up the warm side of her enclosure. Hope she starts eating again!
jenna cambell Make sure shes big enough to eat hornworms and superworms.. Try mealworms and crickets.
Can you go to Geckos.etc?
I'll definitely look into that. Thanks for the suggestion! -Dāv
Lace Monitor or Pygmy Bluetongue
what up with the intro song??
Leopard gecko
I love how informative this channel is, although the intro is 'cringey'.
Thanks! We changed the intros with the re-branding started with season 4.
To see sand boas
Ummm....... Why is he holding the geckos by the tail???? That is like the 1# no no for owners, due to them dropping their tails easily!! I'm sure he knows that but he still does it?!?!
Incorrect. They will drop their tail out of fear and a way yo escape attacks.
Diablo blanco
water dragon
A lot of in breeding going on there. Beautiful animals but i fear the genes are some what inferior. He says he will be breeding the babies to each other.
I really don't like how he handles them....
yeah the tail is not for pulling like that
Lisa McCullough I'm pretty sure he knows what he's doing. They arent made out of porcelain...
Ron's been raising these guys for many years, and is the Leopard Gecko guru, so I would think he knows how to handle his animals. And they're not fragile by any means.
Am I the only one here who absolutely hates this man for the horrible setups he keeps leos in? I get he was the first to breed them but that doesn’t make it right.
Horrible way to treat living creatures. No quality of life whatsoever. Money over moralsVile
Kezia Adams youre making assumptions about the needs, both physical and psychological, of these reptiles that don't reflect reality.
Leopard geckos are nocturnal, like a small space, and where they occur naturally is in war-torn areas. These animals get fed and watered on a regular basis, have a climate-controlled environment, and don't have to worry about being eaten by another animal. And these animals don't know any different. Quite a nice easy life if you ask me.
An Argentine B&W Tegu would be the one type of lizard I would want to keep :))
