My dads mechanic will argue that mobil is better than total but one thing i know is that when total turns black it doesnt dirty the engine. It just slides out, it leaves it very clean. It is even himself that biased my mind at one point to start using mobil😂 and since i found that depor it just made it easier
@@bencoinstituteI use heavy duty diesel engine oils in my generator like the shell Rimula R4x 15w40 API CI/ SL and Total Rubia Tir 7400 15w40 API CI/SL. These oils have very good dispersant and detergent properties but I'm tempted to use Castrol GTX 20w50
Thanks for this video. Finally i see someone using mobil 20w50. Someone told me that mobil isnt good for generator but i was telling him that it is a good oil. He said its only for cars and i told him that for the fact it is used for cars means it will do well for your gen. I usually use mobil 20w50 or total quartz5000. I love total. I used it for 4 years in on of my generators and for 4 years it was NEVER opened by any mechanic. I change my oil every 3 wks not 1 month. The gen is still good but has been packed because i installed solar and bought another gen (firman 12990es) so i am doing the same with the big gen. But now i use mobil20w50 because i found a depor where they sell it in bulk and its the original. But i feel like switching back to total quartz5000.. There was even i time earlier when the economy was better i was using synthetic oil but its very expensive. Bro i also think that cleaning the airfilter whenever u want to change the oil is also important. I always do that because oil also circulates to the airfilter. I use kerosene or Disel to do that.
