Thank you for treating us like 3 year olds or 90 year olds. It’s the simplest most form of teaching. But most effect. I’m learning so much . Thank you for teaching us

That was great. I would venture to say that most people that don’t like jazz don’t like it because they can’t comprehend or identify with what they are hearing. That being the case, they find no reason to actually “listen”. I think that to enjoy jazz requires the ability to hear and an open mind, but to understand it requires a curiosity, an effort and a commitment of time. Those are not facts necessarily, just my thoughts.

Thank you, I had heard a while back the best way to learn tunes is learn the melody with the lyrics. You have reinforced that. Thanks

Very smart and helpful, thanks. I notice you often hit the melody note as a resolution in your solo (and once you hit the major third over an F-minor, cool).

Cool! and good advice. (Personally, I find either knowing the lyrics or having the lyrics in front of me helps too).

Cool idea. You know when they get going you really can forget what tune they are playing! Thats a good thing but not for us less seasoned players. Thanks.

  • @UrantiaRevelationChannel

I dont undertsand why Red Garland didnot play main and simple melody in the beginning and the end. Then he could play anything in the midst. Otherwise people will get confused.

    hey tony
    love your lessons
your voice us better than you let it be
try moving down an octave as you strain and stray where your singing
    move down
