It's nice to watch someone who knows what they're doing. Not saying the other build series aren't good because I still enjoy them, but it helps a lot of people when you actually step through and give some proper insight.
If you dont have one of the vacuum operated brake bleeders to suck up the fluid then here is a tip when bleeding the the calipers make your self a collection reservoir simply by getting an old soft drink plastic bottle and some clear plastic hose that will fit snugly over the brake bleeding nipple. So put your ring spanner over the plastic hose and then attach the end of the hose to the end of the brake caliper bleed nipple. With the other end of the hose pierce the cap of the soft drink bottle and push the hose into to the bottom. Use enough hose so that the bottle can be placed on its base on the ground. Then bleed your brakes . This way you will not have to worry about the fluid leaking onto your paint , garage floor , hands etc - its cleaner more effective safer then just squirting it into a towel wrapped around the bleed nipple
Also if you are old enough to still own a lighter you can burn a hole in the side of said bottle to run the hose through to reduce the likelihood of spillage. I tend to find the cap method more annoying.
I installed some galfer steel-braided lines on my KLR250. Shocking how much of an improvement it was. Stupendous mod and took the front brakes from sketchy to usable.
Jake! I've got CoreMotos on my '07 ZX6R. It lives outside, and I've had zero issues with fading in the few months I've had them. Cheaper than stock Oem replacements, and much better performance!
Man! I'm glad I've found you! I'm getting started in the Rider life, I'm craving for a KTM Duke 200, after seeing 4 videos of this playlist I wish I could find an Duke 200 owner with half of your knowledge and mechanic skills! Although I suppose most stuff you are doing in your bike, I will eventually be able to do or hire a mechanic to do! Thanks so much for this tips and great mods! I'll be watching all this playlist videos and explore your channel!
At 4:14 Pinchy grab piece 'That's what it's called' .... hahaha, you are the best Jake! Living in Japan, nothing good to watch except your vids! Sunday morning
Awesome video 👍😁 just received a set of these brake lines in green 😍😜 someone may have said this, but i’m not gonna look lol, but a tip would be to go to lowes or home depot and get a clear rubber line that will fit snugly onto the caliper bleeder valve and run that into a container. Works awesome and no break fluid going everywhere 😁😁😁🤓
Stainless steel :O imagine how nice that FZ would look if made in polished stainless. Vacuum Brake Bleeder is now on the wishlist, will hook it up to Lexy every month
hey Jake. made a channel just to comment excellent that your doing this ''upgrade'' series to the fz/mt-07 / xsr /tracer. loving what you have covered so far.. can't wait for the radiator grill and the belly pan. coming from U.K DH
Jake's talking about "getting it up quick" and then there was some pumping and squirting. I was in fullscreen, had to exit and double check I was still on the right Tube.com!!
Hey jake yamaha ships those bikes out with semi metallic brake pads. A switch to sintered brake pads will make a huge difference i suggest foreverrunmotors but theres tons of good options out there.
im not the biggest fan of EBC's pads but they certainly get the job done it will make a big difference on the FZ since you are moving to a sintered pad.
when's that exhuast gon be here I bout to pull my damn hair out waiting for it, I'm so addicted to this series it's my way of customizing a bike even tho I'm broke
I found when bleeding the system if you take a small plastic hose and put it on the bleeder valves into an empty bottle you don't make a mess with the brake fluid and you don't waste any.
should probably get some of these for my bike 92 gpx 250, knowing the last owner i got it off and the condition i doubt the brake lines had been changed
Even though I am not paying attention and just watching for entertainment right now, I'm sure it will be useful in the future when I decided to go braided.
Hi Jake. Before you drained the fluid from the old lines, you pumped the brake a bit the opened the bleed nipple. Why? It that to get some fluid out of the reservoir to prevent spillage for when you open the reservoir? Despite you mocking the customiser aspect of this series, it is a great help with just general bike knowledge, and we really appreciate that. Thanks
Awesome video. I really want to go with steel braided lines on my bike too but I can't justify the expense right now. I have other mods that will make the bike better first. Even with the vacuum tool, do you always finish them the old fashioned way?
+819S Yeah pretty much. Just like one maybe two times and it's good. I also had to crack the banjo bolt on the master cylinder ones to get all the air out.
One way so you don't have to use rolls of rags to clean up the fluid. Use a plastic bottle and clear hose that fits snugly over the bleeder nut. Fill the bottle half just so the tip of the hose is covered with fluid and then proceed to the bleeding process. I've done this a lot with semi trucks that have the hydraulic brakes. Works a ton better and you don't have to clean up as much.
I'm just curios as to why you didn't remove the reflectors attached to your front brake calipers. I removed mine on my FZ-07 but have wondered if I made a mistake because I'm thinking that maybe they act as a washer for the caliper bolts or possibly some sort of reinforcing brace for the brake calipers. Do you have any feedback for me regarding this?
I am digging the FZ-07 series. It's an amazing bike man! I know they're some pro's dirttracking this monster. Wonder if there's any kits that you might be able to slap on
Hey man, great vid - but is there a reason you don't use a catch bottle for the fluid that's bled out? I've always used one to stop the fluid splashing everywhere and make it easy to see when new fluid is coming through clean/free of bubbles, but I wondered if there's a reason I don't know about to do it without!
i've bee looking and Hel brake lines, firstly they have braided lines for the ABS model (what I have) and another set for the non-abs model but the ABS version costs twice as much. I didn't think brake lines had to be ABS specific ?
It's nice to watch someone who knows what they're doing. Not saying the other build series aren't good because I still enjoy them, but it helps a lot of people when you actually step through and give some proper insight.
one of the few TH-cam channels I can get my one year old to sit still and watch with me.

You said "nipple".
And then "squirting".
:)

bought mt07. this is instantly my most fav series
I am actually lovin this BSOS. though itd b boring but quite cathartic.
These videos actually help me out a lot, i'll probably put steel lines on my bike in the springtime.
I installed some galfer steel-braided lines on my KLR250. Shocking how much of an improvement it was. Stupendous mod and took the front brakes from sketchy to usable.
I love the intros man. funny. I'M GONNA TURN A WRENCH. THIS MAKES ME A CUSTOMIZER
Jake... you make some of the best instructional videos ive seen thus far. You should teach a class
its good to see someone that does the motovlog stuff also show the correct way to do maintenance and upgrades. keep up the good work 👍
Just bought a galfer kit can't wait to feel the difference!
It's amazing how informative your videos are given the goofy overtones. I still like 'em! Keep up the good work.
Sticker placement/Camera angle had me crackin up. Keep up the good vids, and also lovin the BSOS!!! Thanks
+KoRn_Kid_78 yeah kind of fucked that one up and you can't really redo it can you
no you cant, but I think it worked out for the better!
I'm buying that vacuum tool. Thank you for clearing this up. I had no idea how to do the front with the double. Excellent.
Jake! I've got CoreMotos on my '07 ZX6R. It lives outside, and I've had zero issues with fading in the few months I've had them. Cheaper than stock Oem replacements, and much better performance!

when I first subscribed to you some time back, I'd never think I'd learn things from your channel.
I was wrong, keep up the good work :)
Jake your the only dad who can say memes and still be cool.
Alan Godin agreed. He is very good with the memes.
this is good meme jake thank you
Stainless steel :O imagine how nice that FZ would look if made in polished stainless. Vacuum Brake Bleeder is now on the wishlist, will hook it up to Lexy every month
Top vid mate. As said new pads will make a big difference. I also took the calipers off and cleaned the pots (pistons) and caliper.
hey Jake.
made a channel just to comment

RIP to your murdered neighbor. You will be missed 😔

Core Moto brake lines are THE BEST!
I switched the lines on my 04 FZ6 to the Venhill Twin lines. I need to do the rear as well but for now the front works for now.
Jake's talking about "getting it up quick" and then there was some pumping and squirting. I was in fullscreen, had to exit and double check I was still on the right Tube.com!!
Dude, you are a sick puppy!
this video was very simple, but has been one of my favorites
Slowly becoming the baddest fz around
Your most professional video ever! Nice
Really loving this series!
you did really good buying that bike. they are great and have very few issues.
I'm amazed with that special tool wow
nobody should have to live with the pulsing squishiness of rubber
i like putting my foot in bareback so i feel the warm fluids between my toes
Ichiban it's been two months did you dieded?
Nice video thanks, I put a clear tube on the bleed nipple & run the fluid into a bottle, it's less mess & less chance of fluid on the paintwork.
Sweet man. I have wondered how it was done.
Cant wait for the exhaust!
I like using a clear hose poked through a water bottle when bleeding brake calipers helps see the bubblesand prevents air getting back in.
damn you Jake I thought I was done doing stuff to my fz07.. now to get steel braided lines.. ✊
digging the new black truck in the background
+upstate1bmx black truck? Ain't mine. I got that tan F150.
i was talking about the power-wheel truck
Loving this series, Jake!
this was uploaded on my birthday :D
I just subscribes. I'm planning on getting an FZ 07 soon. I've been learning more by your videos.
Hey jake yamaha ships those bikes out with semi metallic brake pads. A switch to sintered brake pads will make a huge difference i suggest foreverrunmotors but theres tons of good options out there.
I was thinking about some EBC HH pads
im not the biggest fan of EBC's pads but they certainly get the job done it will make a big difference on the FZ since you are moving to a sintered pad.
You don't turn wrenches with your hands you turn them with your heart ❤️
+ReeceSimpson that would hurt
+Jake TheGardenSnake why did I just now get this notification 😂😂
when's that exhuast gon be here I bout to pull my damn hair out waiting for it, I'm so addicted to this series it's my way of customizing a bike even tho I'm broke
Been riding bikes for years, but my dad or my local bike mechanic do most of this shit for me lol. Interesting to actually see the proper processes.
I love these videos man, please make more
I found when bleeding the system if you take a small plastic hose and put it on the bleeder valves into an empty bottle you don't make a mess with the brake fluid and you don't waste any.
I miss when Dan does this stuff. he mostly just shows us his face now and I want the bikes
great video. I feel confident watching this to replace my own break lines now. chears
Intro just wins the internet.
should probably get some of these for my bike 92 gpx 250, knowing the last owner i got it off and the condition i doubt the brake lines had been changed
Keen for the new pipe!
I would choose spigler lines IMO, you can't beat the swivel banjos for easy installation.. but either way, ss lines really do make a huge difference.
Even though I am not paying attention and just watching for entertainment right now, I'm sure it will be useful in the future when I decided to go braided.

Loving this bolt shit on series, can't wait for more!
These videos are really good, keep it up!
Put them on bandit 2 years back always great value to the bike imo
Are you some kind of engineer? How do you know all this stuff? You go into such detail with simple things. Great things to how!
did Lifan hook you up with a new car? @0:20
Seriously I love the intros and endtrose lol 😂 also the main videos
Awesome video. I really want to go with steel braided lines on my bike too but I can't justify the expense right now. I have other mods that will make the bike better first.
Even with the vacuum tool, do you always finish them the old fashioned way?
+819S Yeah pretty much. Just like one maybe two times and it's good. I also had to crack the banjo bolt on the master cylinder ones to get all the air out.
For any who are curious, the torque spec on the front and rear banjo bolts is 22 ft/lbs.
To avoid all the spillage from the brake nipple thing, just put a clear tube of some sort over it and into some kind of container, less mess :)
Are you planning any sprocket changes in the future?
I'm just curios as to why you didn't remove the reflectors attached to your front brake calipers. Be doing a bolt on episode of new fork seals before long lol. I literally did wheelies for 2 weeks on my fz6 and blew a fork seal
+Dalton Williams I wanna put a cartridge kit in there anyway.
Hi jake im a subscriber from Singapore! love your videos. just wondering is the process the same if theres ABS? cheers
Jake, that mask was the cherry on top
It feels nice on my face
Can't find FZ-07 lines on your amazon link, only FZ-09's
+Red 5 oh well maybe try their website
+Jake TheGardenSnake yeah I saw them on the website but I was hoping to support your channel
I am digging the FZ-07 series. It's an amazing bike man! I know they're some pro's dirttracking this monster. Wonder if there's any kits that you might be able to slap on
Next up is a build series on that sweet Powerwheel right?
nickletown costumes! that's bad ass.
FATHER LIKE SON BOTH HAVE A TRUCK AND AND BOTH HAVE A NINJA TURTLE COSTUMES
NICE JAKE!
omg... how clean is that bike?!
Bruhh your intro is funny AF!💯👏🏻
I love this series, really nicely put together and helpful too! :-)
+Hippo-Drones i'm glad you're enjoying it 👍🏼👌🏻
Hey man, great vid - but is there a reason you don't use a catch bottle for the fluid that's bled out? I've always used one to stop the fluid splashing everywhere and make it easy to see when new fluid is coming through clean/free of bubbles, but I wondered if there's a reason I don't know about to do it without!
HEY JAKE, SERIOUS QUESTION!! How would you complete the bleeding process without an air vac bleeder..??
THANKS,
YAMAHAMIAN
+Yamahamian Motovlogs the way I started, pump pump pump hold open close repeat...
Thank you for educating me... seriously learned a lot 👍👌
Jake what brand is your ratchet?? never seen one that swivels like that.
Are you planning on a full exhaust or slip on
Patrick Irons Full exhaust. He has said it on a previous vid
+Patrick Irons full
Jake TheGardenSnake toce or a other brand
i've bee looking and Hel brake lines, firstly they have braided lines for the ABS model (what I have) and another set for the non-abs model but the ABS version costs twice as much. I didn't think brake lines had to be ABS specific ?
best teacher on youtube! jake the windscreen is any good at an 100mph speed?? i dont have any and the wind hits hard on me! maybe im not used to it!
Have you thought on swapping your headlight's bulb with an LED one?
+J.S. PropTail I have and I think I will
was looking at a pair of these lines for my bike, now that I know these are garden snake approved they shall be ordered
+Brandon Tessier both my bikes have em now
👌 👌👌
I like the intro of the video.
great video, loving the Sub D shirt!
thanks, I got a few. Sub D is too nice and has given me like three.
He's my 2nd favorite motovlogger! But I'll be for sure upgrading my brake lines asap. Thanks for explaining what they actually do. 😅
How much fluid did it take? Would a bottle of 355mL be sufficient?
I have the same brake lines on my FZ09!
Hey Jake! Can you do me a favor and cut the old brake line in half and tell me if it is made only out of rubber?
What other naked bikes did you consider before you bought the FZ-07? What do you think about the Aprilia Shiver 750?
Love those "vacula" brake bleeders, best money ever spent when you do a lot of brake bleeding (18 years doing brake suspension work at a car dealer)
SC457A they always had em at shops I worked at. Always wanted one but they were pricey.
I wish I had rented mine out a few times! Bought mine in the mid 90's from a Snap Off dealer, so yeah, I paid a bit.
Could this make the bike's wheels more prone to lock up since it doesnt have ABS?
+Jack Walter Actually because the feel is more consistent and doesn't pulse then contract I would say your less likely.
are you planning on doing anything with the suspension jake?
yes
did it firm up the rear brake too?
Hey Jake what what is a good street starter bike I'm turning getting my learners permit soon and i ride dirtbikes so I have experience on a bike
