    Only Allah knows for what reasons these early Fitnas occurred in our Ummah... I would make an ijtihad and say that it was to test the Sahaba to raise or lower their status according to their actions. At the end of the Day, we should learn from these lessons and leave it at that.....We have had numerous Fitnas in our History to learn from...yet SubhanAllah, we Don't ! Allahmu Musta'an.

      Very true

    • @IslamBasics
      @IslamBasics 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Let me make an attempt to rephrase the same in a slightly different way, so that I make an attempt to bring out the nuance that may be of help to us:
      1) Its not that the facts are not known about the fitnah that rendered the biggest jolt to Ummah within that age of Sahaabah (RA). There are ample number of graphic and clear fore-warnings by Rasoolullah SAW, recorded with authentic isnaad within the books of Ahaadeeth like Bukhaari, Muslim and others.
      2) The problem is with those of us, who try to cover up the "truth", due to shear respect of Sahaabah (RA) that goes into the category of Ghuluw (crosses the limit). And when they try to hide the 'very human mistakes' of a few Sahaabah (RA), they end up damaging the honor of Deenullah (Islam); whereas it should be the other way round, i.e. in order to protect the honor of Deenullah, they should have been gracefully critical of Sahaabah (RA), and should have continued to respect them despite notifying their grave errors that dislodged Khilaafat e Rashidah and gave rise to "Kingdomes and Dynastic Rule".
      3) When we cover or hide the truth; "falsehood" automatically gets promoted! It gives rise to rumors and mis-information that ultimately ruins the Truth! This is what has costed this Ummah dearly, but I am amazed at Sheikh YQ that he also took the same stance of covering up or brushing things under the carpet (unfortunately).
      4) A muslim is honest and sincere in protecting Deenullah at all cost, because that's his test of Imaan. Hence a Muslim must call a spade a spade, else he is risking his own Imaan before the Lord Almighty! When it comes to saving the honor of Deenullah versus the honor of Sahaaba (RA), he has no way out but to choose Deenullah!
      5) We all know that during that sacred period, something grievously went wrong that led to a build-up of so much of discontent among these best of human beings, which led them to revolt against Uthman (RA); but after that we see a systematic befall of events that led to the ultimate destruction of Khilafat e Raashidah of 'Ali ibn Abi Taalib (RA), followed by Hassan (RA).
      6) If we get to know the truth, we would understand the main causative factors that led to its destruction. This is the only way we can be watchful against those factors and take care to avoid them even today... but in the absence of this crucial know-how, we remain groping in the dark, finding it even difficult to even reconcile ourselves with the text of Quran, where it talks about establishing Allah's Deen and Ibtaal al Fitnah...

    • @SaadiaAliKhan908
      @SaadiaAliKhan908 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      How will anyone separate the truth from the lies of that period? Even the 4 Imams chose not to say much about those times. Sometimes there is more negativity than good in delving into affairs that are not very clear.

      Mohammed Irfanullah I have heard that according to Ahle Sunnah these matters are not to be probed deeply. Imam Ahmad is supposed to have said to his son that it was a time Allah saved us from unsheathing our swords so let us sheath our tongues from the fitans too. I have seen this and also heard of it from some shaykhs. So what does this mean; and could you tell me where to look for what you have mentioned above, I would like to read all that

    The end of Khilaafat e Raashidah was probably the biggest damage to Islam, and it happened during the times of Sahaabah (the best generation)... No one disputes that it happened in the hands of someone, who was a Sahaabi, and Muslim... This certainly is not the welcome thing or praiseworthy thing, because Rasoolullah (SAW) called this not in a good taste.. i.e. a beginning of ..biting kingdom/dynastic rule...
    It is thus incumbent upon Muslims to study and pinpoint those specific "mistakes", and try to repair those even today, if they ever intend to bring back the System that was established by Rasoolullah (SAW) and the Khulafa e Raashid, and in-sha-Allah, it would have guidance and directions to bring back the peace in today't turbulent times... But if we brush those under the carpet, as we have been doing for many centuries, or continue to justify every wrong or mistake to be Right, we set example of those who do not want to learn from the biggest mistakes of their past and would continue to suffer bi-idhnillah...

      Mohammad Did you listen to full lecture? Ummah will go through five phases: Nubuwwat, Khilaafat, mulookiyat, mulkan jibriyan, khilafat.
      Third staged ended in 1924, now we are currently in the fourth stage, final stage will begin with the coming of Imam Mahdi(r).!

  • @truthseekerBVC
    @truthseekerBVC 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Yep, Dr. Qadhi, your parents example was spot on. You'd totally brush it under the carpet if they murdered each others' families and friends 20 years back. Shhh, nothing happened. Loved your lecture upto the point you began with the 'pretend it never happened' arguments.
    Secondly, every single society consists of good people and bad people, in different proportions. It is wonderous to claim that even in the latter years of the Prophet (S), when wealth, power, and more relevantly converts were flowing in, that each and every of them was sincere to Islam and can even be regarded as a role model just because he happened to be there. You can't paint an entire generation with(albeit with varying shades of) a single brushstroke!

    We don’t consider Ali ibn Husayn (ra) to be an Imam from our perspective? I respect Br Yasir & have learned a lot from him. But, with any “scholar” - learn from them, benefit from them but use your own head as well. Ali ibn Husayn (ra) is of Ahlul Bayt, he was a righteous, pious person & yes an Imam. That is my view & I respect Br Yasir & his view.

    MashaAllah brother! I have listened to all the lectures you did on Hazrat Ali ibn abi talib and couldnt understand how you can love Ali and his enemies all at the same time? Again I respect all the rightly guided Sahabas like Hazrat Abu Bakr, Umar, and Usman but whats the deal with Muawiya? Why do you have to defend him so much so that you're saying he's already forgiven for what he did at Jamal? If he was sincere in avenging Hazrat Usman's blood, then why did he not help him when he was surrounded by mobs and Usman kept sending him letters to send an army from Sham?
    Walahi you stopped making sense when you said that the killers and the killed both will be in Jannah!!

    • @wzulmai
      @wzulmai 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Muhammad Hassan I agree brother. As a Sunni, I never understood how Sunnis say RA after Muawiyah. Yes, I feel cursing him is not right, however I also feel like praising him isn’t either. As Sunnis, we know the status of Ali (ra) from the Prophet (saw). Wasn’t the custom of cursing Ali (ra) started during the reign of Muawiyah & continued for 60 years? Didn’t Muawiyah break the treaty he signed with Imam Hassan (ra)? One of the biggest tragedies in our history was when he appointed his son Yazid when he made an oath not to, a decision from which we still see & feel the effects today. I respect Br. Yasir & all people of knowledge, but with Muawiyah, personally, I don’t praise or curse. His judgment is with Allah (swt) & Allah (swt) knows best. His judgement is always just.
      As-salamu’alaikum.
