That was a good tutorial. I also use proto throttle on my layout and I really enjoy operating with proto throttle on my layout total game changer with a switching layout.

I've had my protothrottle sitting on my shelf for almost a year now, lol. Got the ESU loconet stuff to set it up with my DCC++EX I just haven't gotten off my butt to do it. Waiting on my LokProgrammer to arrive in a few days, then going to set it all up this weekend.

Let me know how that went. I’ve been wanting to set this up for a while. I am curious how it’s wireless and still connects to the layout.

Good stuff!! Looking forward for more updates on the protothrottle.
Can't remember if I asked before. The ship in the background. Who makes that?

    Why 5th throttle?
How many locos can you have on one throttle?
Why doesn't Protothrottle have load sharing instead of speed matching, to make it easier to consist multiple brands of decoders/model brands?
Protothrottle has alot of bells & whistles capabilities, but it looks like you have to "remember" alot of say "function button" uses. Where on a system like RailPro, it has a screen to show you exactly what you want, instead of having to remember what function button does what you want to do.
RailPro has 1000 speed settings....how slow or fast do you want to go?
Protothrottle does have some nice features...the proto-stand look & operation, the lights control and some other things.
Don't know why they couldn't incorporate some of the desirable features from Ring Engineering-RailPro system? Do you think it's a patent thing???
Why no charging port for the batteries?
You have to take it apart to change batteries?
Do you think that's a patent thing?
Yes, I'll watch the rest of the series, when time permits.
    Good Job....Shawn!
Maybe I should be asking why RailPro doesn't incorporate the Protothrottle look into it's design???😉😆😎
