I love this band, after The Warning, this is my favorite band, their style is very own and they are equally talented in their instrumentation, singing, choruses and presence, grateful for all these young women for their talent.
I discovered the Sixsters on a Suite Clarity Patreon livestream. As soon as I saw them I knew they were great. They deliver over and over. Easily one of the great rock bands in the world in 2024. Fun, sweet, smart, energetic.
The Sixsters remind me of the early Beatles (when I was a young boy). Both are so full energy, creativity, spirit, fun, invention, personality, talent, and a strong grip on what music is and how to make it. In other words, they are total naturals. You will stunned by the different approaches they bring to all their English videos.
The title misspells their name, it has a second "s" Sixsters I found your reaction by accident). Thank you for covering this amazing band! 😀 Their newer songs are next level great.
So glad you took a chance on this band, I love this band and how they have persevered with the situation around them. Just a correction, their first English language song was Fever, which coincided with Maria joining the band. Maria and Kate (drums) are all that remain from this line-up. All current members are Ukrainian refugees living in Germany. A little history, Kate on drums was driving her family crazy banging things, so her dad got her some drums. By age 6, she had her own TH-cam channel doing drum covers, by age 8 she wanted to be in a band, but there was no musical kids in her area, so her dad advertised for musical children and The Sixsters were born in 2018 with kids between 7 and 12. In 2019 they released their first video with Kate(drums), Alona and Ira (guitars) Maya (keyboard), Taya (bass) and Victory (Vocals). 2020 was disrupted by COVID, the vocalist changed to Kira Kasyanva and bass guitarist Kira Panchenko joined sharing bass duties with the youngest member, Taya. This line-up stayed the same until early 2021 when Maria replaced Alona on guitar and shared lead vocals on the song Fever. They released a couple more in 2021, then Anna replaced Ira for the last video of 2021, No Name. In November 2021 they released a very good live video with this line-up (Taya and Kira both played half the concert), their Teatro Metropolitan performance. In 2022, they were lined-up to support one of Ukraine's biggest Rock bands on a Stadium tour. Then the War started, so this never happened. Most of the girls families fled Ukraine and they spread across Europe in different Countries. Ukraine had a rule which only allowed families with more than one child could leave, so Taya, an only child, had to stay in Ukraine. Five months after the war started, 5 of the other 6 girls met up in Germany, vocalist Kira decided not to return. The 5 girls wrote Happiness and released it on their channel. The family of Kira returned to Ukraine soon after, taking Kira with them. Polina, a young bass player took her place. They are holding a place on rhythm guitar for KIra to return. Last September, Maya's family returned to Ukraine, so Sofia, took her place on keyboards. They say they are influenced by bands such as Green Day and Offspring, but their music is very varied. Everything is very good.
It's great you are going to react to this great group a lot more. Now I know a bit more about the band's name. In the beginning there was six members in the band. Recently there is only five members in the band. One guitar player is no longer in the band. Wondering if some of the members are siblings. Don't know much about the names of the members. Only know that each video Watch and listen I become more and more of a fan of theirs. Going to start listening to their albums because I know they play great music. LOVEBITES, BAND-MAID, NEMOPHILA, THE WARNING AND NOW THE SIXTERS ARE MY TOP FIVE FAVORITE FEMALE ROCK BANDS. Watch you and listen to you later.
The fact they are all I believe 12-15 here as well makes it even more impressive. They have got better and better as well which was why they reminded me of The Warning and how they have evolved from similar ages. They have that 'rock' attitude to their songs and definitely have that exuberance and sense of fun and it being about the music I think. I'm Gonna Be would a great one to do next from 2022, it's a really fun video and another rocking song. They have a great story too being from Ukraine and having had to move to Germany with their families.
Bangles? more like The Runaways. to answer your question I have been a fan of Katia (drummer) since she was 8, way before she and her dad formed the band. What I love about them is there endless creativity and originality, every song is different , various styles, and there videos are also very creative . One video they are all made up in goulish costumes, another in prom dresses, rhe next one they are just themsevels doing a acoustic ballad. This one they just invited fans to show up at the shoot with no idea of who or how many would be there . This ,to me is a very old song because they have grown so much so fast. please go check out there new stuff and you will see how fast they progress
I have been following this group for about 6 months now. I really like them and their potential, but am still learning about them. They have grown tons since this particular video. The lineup has almost completely flipped, with only the drummer (Katerina) and rhythm guitarist (Maria) remaining. Maria (now 17) is currently the lead singer and has really started to become a compelling frontwoman. Great voice, punk attitude, with a bit of a jazz flair to her vocal style. New lead guitar (Anya/Anna) is really intriguing. The new bass player (Polina) and keyboardist (Sofie) round out the current lineup. Try "Feels" for a next look. It is probably their most grown-up offering. "I'm Gonna Be", "For Us, For Me", "Happiness", "Hold", and "I Stare At You" are all worthy of a reaction as well. If you are in the mood for something more light hearted, "Seem to Dance" is goofy, cute fun, but still excellent. They are still so young (ages 15 - 20) that there is major upside if they keep developing. A number of their songs (e.g., I Stare at You and Happiness) appear to be poetic commentary on the current war in Ukraine.
To me combination of Joan Jett and the Go Go's I like this as well.Red You Hit It on the Head grudge punk. There is so much out there we have no clue about sint there LOL #reaction #sixters #punkrock #mediaminion #readheadedneighbor #bestreaxtor #beautifulcountrygirl 🎸🎸🎸🎸📻📻📻📻
Hell Yeah ! you found the Sixters ❤❤❤❤❤🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘💗they are a fantastic band and have evolved into incredible musicians you never know quite what to expect with them but they always Rock !!! as for attitude ya aint seen nothin yet ! lol wait till you get to some newer stuff
Just to let you know they have a live premier this weekend (6th April) of their latest video, part of their 6th year celebration, a song called Same Kid, first track on the latest album.
four of the members have been changed since this was made . i first seen this group when the drummer was nine years old. she was a contestant on an international drumming competition called hits like a girl . paulina from the warning was a judge .
Every song they've done so far just rocks. Due to the conflict in Ukraine most of them relocated to Germany and they're still making killer songs. When I found them it was their "Psychedelics" song but Fever is my favorite. They have around 40 songs so take your pick, you can't go wrong. 🥰
Yup, they call themselves a punk band … but they’re so much more as well. The lineup has changed over the years. (& some POS invading their country hasn’t helped) but they’re still making great music. New album out this year. ‘Feels’ I just love. & ‘I Stare at You’ I just love (& they’re totally different) & ‘Happiness’ I just love (& … yes, different yet). & of course you have to see ‘Seem to Dance’. It’s just …. Well, you’ll just have to watch it😂
You asked for a favorite song, and what drew us to the band. I don't think I can pick a favorite because they're each unique! The song you reviewed is actually quite old, with a significantly different lineup due to the war. I strongly urge you to look at newer songs because they are MUCH more advanced and next-level. Kira is no longer the lead singer and has left the band, and Maria has established herself as an excellent lead voice for the band. I'd say for a next song,"For Us... For Me..." which starts out with the current lead singer, Maria, singing a beautiful sultry, jazz-influenced melody, and then it breaks out into a full-blown rock ballad. It shows both their soft side and hard side. A lot of fans recommend "Feels" which has them in ghoulish makeup with Maria deep in character with her beguiling smokey voice, and a punk-influenced breakdown in the middle. I don't usually recommend it first because new viewers come away with a mistaken understanding of the range of their music. Their music has in-your-face punk, beautiful ballads, goofy costumes and quirky, touching acoustic pieces, hard rock, and they can write songs that deeply touch the heart. Phenomenal. I kept seeing their name in TWA comments and decided to check them out. After two songs, I was hooked. I haven't been this blown away since I first experienced The Warning, and that's saying a lot. Regardless of their ages, their music is top-notch. Very tight (Kate Kuziakina is a drum prodigy who won a global competition when she was only 9, and she brings it all together). Very creative, inventive, brave, fresh songs all done with passion, honesty, and superb musicianship. I believe you will be delighted with each new song you hear😊 More Sixsters, please 😀 🙏 New subscriber for The Sixsters.
I think this is the same lineup as in Fever. If you like Kate, the drummer, then Fever should be next. Kira, the lead vocalist, drops out and Anna steps up as lead guitarist for Hold. Hold sold me on the group much as Revenant did for The Warning.
Yes I'm very happy you had found The Sixters a ALL FEMALE BAND FROM THE Ukraine making music trying to live a normal life life and looking for SUPPORT FOR THERE HOME LAND OF UKRAINE AND THERE FAMILY MEMBERS THEY LEFT BEHIND.
Great reaction, I have been following them for a little while and really like them. If you liked this one you should check out some of their latest songs like For us, For me this one has a nice rock vibe. Next Feels is fun one and the latest I Stare at you takes it down a little but but is my new favorite.
I like 'em, but it's taken a couple of songs. The first vid I saw was Feels, and it was a little too creepy. I watched a couple more this morning, and they're really growing on me. I agree that this is just a fun, punk song, but with some meaning behind it. The video feels like a modern version of those old (1940s, Andy Rooney?) movies where the kids say, "Let's put on a show!" and everyone jumps in to a full stage production number.

It almost sounds like an early 2000s grunge-ish punk-ish rock. I dig it!

Actually, Kate won in 2018, and Pau was a judge in 2023. Pau would've been around 15 or 16.
Their name is Sixsters :) an extra 'S'. Six Sisters in music was how the name came about.
Ahhh! Yes! Thank you!

Nope.
