Very underrated. Have done a lot of research and learned new things about him that I didn't know before. Somebody needs to do a movie about this very talented and mysterious guy.
Him and others were all taken for granted. There was a new sensation every week back then. Looking back it's pretty incredible the amount of talent that came from that generation. Especially when you see just how in short supply it is nowadays. I don't think people realize just how influential music is in a society. It's almost subliminal the way it affects people, good or bad as we see today in the rise in violence and disrespect of women and law enforcement, sadly it was a passing time that may never be able to rise up again.
I remember this show, Would watch Ozzie and Harriet just hoping that Rick would be singing. He was soooooo handsome, and what a beautiful voice. Wish he was still with us.

When he started singing, every week the show would end with Ricky singing to a small audience in his home (the shows were actually filmed in the Nelson home). You can get the video that was released by his kids after he died. It's called Ricky Nelson Sings and it's lots of those "after-the-show" performances. You can get it on Amazon. Anyway, I used to look forward to those Thursday nights.
