You are correct. I decided to go with the lighter pellets because of the target distance.

nice shooting! It's great to see one of these up and going, these were crosman's best back in the day. I was very surprised to see the chrony numbers that high. The gun looks mint almost, I'm betting you had it resealed. thanks for sharing!

Thanks! When I purchased the pistol it was in great condition so I had to pay a little bit for it but you are correct; The seals did need to be replaced. I purchased replacement seals from Ebay and put them in myself (quite easy). I also greased the moving parts and cleaned the barrel.

I have a 38T also, bought it new in '85. I also had to install a new seal kit about six years ago. Shoots good, these pistols are pretty accurate. Mine shoots around 410fps.

Keep in mind these are 9 grain pellets. The industry standard for testing is about 14.

I have one that works, it was my fathers, he told me he got it before i was born (1973) When i try to figure out when it was made i will remember there was something with the material (metal) the sight was made of that placed it's production between the beginning of the 60's and early 70'. I got it frome my dad 30years ago, its amazing good on the trigger, little sensible about type of pelletts, got some realy old pelletts frome the time my father got it thats shoot verry good, english pellet brand that dosent excist anymore, they are the best pellets ive tried in my old 5.5 gamo hunter pellgun frome the 80's. Unfortunly i have verry few of those pellets left, in t 38T ive tried different types of jsb, gamo and crossman pellets, non could compere with those old ones i have, dont carry the tinn box with me, my brain hurting when i dont remeber names i know that i know😅😅

I had one of these .22 Crosman 38T's way back in the 80s and I sure wish I could get my hands on one now.
Most of my .22cal air pistols are either break barrel spring piston or pneumatic/variable pump like the Crosman 1322 or Webley Tempest.. and I currently do not own ANY air pistols in .22 that are Co2 powered except for Crosman 2240 and Diana Chaser.. but I have modded and converted both of those to hybrid long barreled rifles a long time ago.
As an air gunner who prefers .22cal over .177cal I keep hoping that Crosman will one day release a line of brand new .22 cal Co2 air pistols.. or release a quality re-make of some of their older classic Co2 air guns - how about a Vigilante and SR357 in .22cal that shoots in the 450+ fps range.?
Great review on another Iconic air pistol my man -
    Salute

    Good Group.
    Nice power and FPS.
I'm thinking about getting the Crosman 38c 22.. What kind of FPS does the 38c have or do you know?

I do have a 38C in .22. I did do a video on it's accuracy but not it's velocity. I'll do a velocity test on it and let you know.

I finally got around to testing the 38C. The temp today was 93 degrees and this was the six shot string on a new co2 cartridge:
      1) 341.4 FPS
      2) 344.7 FPS
      3) 355.2 FPS
      4) 352.4 FPS
      5) 342.9 FPS
      6) 342.2 FPS

      Okay Thank You!
Yeah that's pretty good numbers for a . 22 revolver.
I just recently last week acquired a used Crosman .177 38 T in very good condition
With the long barrel. I'm hoping to get out soon and test it to see if it is working properly. If it is I will do some target shooting for accuracy and power.
I also acquired 2 Crosman 766 Pellet Rifles both are in good condition but neither one holds air and will not pump up or fire
I will get parts to try and repair it to get them working but I wish I knew someone else who could and would do the repair jobs.
      New seals, etc etc. etc.

@@richmoakley I would have no issues doing the repairs.
