Hey John! The update didn't fully resolve this problem, at a certain depth the IDs are still missing, but it got better with the update. For very deep targets you have to rely on your ears instead of eyes I guess 😅 Good luck searching!

Hey Jim, there are some connection issues with the app we are currently working on. At first, be sure that you have installed the latest version of the app and there are no other (bluetooth) devices nearby, that can interfere with the detector or smartphone. For a "quick fix", the best idea is to try different smartphones, as we see that different devices lead to different rates of success with the connection. Especially older Android phones (version 5.0 for example) tend to connect more reliable. Also it may help if you could tell me what is happening exactly. Does the big "Q" in the top middle of the detector light up when trying to connect? Is there any message the app shows you when trying? Thank you for providing more details :-)

I have tried the older version of the app posted below but I am not able to log in to that one. Just says login failed. Logging in is fine if I reinstall the latest.
Hi Nathan, sorry to hear that you have problems with the app. At the moment the developers are working on the app's bugs but I can't make a qualified comment on how long it will take. My advice would be to try the smartphone of someone else who is so nice to lend it to you. Another idea regarding the problem logging in into the old app: I think there was the problem that the Login failed when you let your password manager fill in the password automatically. If you did this, try to log in by typing in your password letter by letter (sound weird, but it helped for some people).

Hi is there a way I can report firmware issues? I have noticed that when trying to use 4 tones on field setting the lo and mid tones get swapped. So the higher tone is sounding for the lower numbers.

Hi Johan! I'm sorry to hear that you have no success updating the Q60. But I have good news for you: your detector is already running on the latest software. 2022 is the same as M2022. The issue with the Object ID not showing when the signal is relatively weak got better with the update but still persists in some cases. When the target is really small or really deep in the ground or both, it is very difficult for any detector to identify an Object ID, at some point every detector start to "guess".

This is a small device connected by a short cable to your Q30 and can be attached to the shaft of your detector. This can be connected to the wireless headphones so you dont have to put your headphones off when putting your detector to the side while searching. Just ask the Quest dealer in your country about it, they will help you! Where are you from? :-)

When the target has a certain distance to the coil (depending on the target material and size) it's difficult to make sure that the target ID is estimated right, you will also recognize with other detectors that often very deep targets will be put in the iron range, although it is not iron

is it possible to roll back to the original software? after updating to 2022 the detector is unstable and has a problem locating the target, keeps waking up, and can't figure out a pure id. i have q60 one year, and I am very dissatisfied with the way it works after the update, when it had the original software it worked much better.

I own a Xiaomi redmi note 7 and through the quest go application I can't find the metal detector and then to connect .. so I tried with bluetooth (without using the application) and this one finds it for me (quest q30) but it asks me to enter a password. I've tried different combinations but can't connect. If I can't use the app, and I can't with my phone, how can I update my quest q30? Hey there, thank you for the message! You have to connect it via the app, not in the Bluetooth settings of your device. Unfortunately, with some smartphones it doesn't seem to work. You can try by deinstalling and installing the app again, otherwise the best solution would be to try it with another smartphone (from a friend or family member for example). Older smartphones (e.g. Samsung Galaxy S5) tend to work better for some reason. Hey Gareth! Even if you have no wireless headphones connected, you can still activate the wireless headphones mode and the detector will be silent. Try hitting the upper button on the right side of the control unit to deactivate it. If this doesn't help, your detector might be broken - in this case contact the dealer you bought it from to investigate and repair it if needed. I hope this helps!

We are still working on the app to be able to connect to every device. If you bought your device after the 1.03.2021, chances are very high it already is running on the latest software version, in this case you don't have to further try to connect it.

I bought it 2 years ago and worked with it but recently become very noissy, every touch of the cable, where is the contact with the coil. I reset it from factory but the problem still. I dont know if the coil is broke or the program may solve the problem.

Be sure to connect the device directly from the app and not from the bluetooth settings of your smartphone, this way you avoid having to type in a code.

Hi! The Q35 does not support the Quest Go App and it is not possible to update the device. The software of the Q35 basically is an updated version of the software used in the Q30/Q30+ and Q60 for years. Do you have any troubles with your device?

To make sure that the pinpointing works fine, you have to start pressing the pinpoint button while there is NO metal close to the coil. It only works by comparing the current signal strength to the signal strength when starting the pinpoint function. If you considered this and it still doesn't work, please contact the dealer you bought the device from so you will get a new, working unit.

How I connect the Q30 2022 with bleuthooth / app. If I search on bleuthooth self I see it. But in app it can t find the detector. Very strange if you ask me??

On some smartphones the app has problems finding the devices. Best bet is to try different smartphones. Also there is a "stable" version of the app that tends to work sometimes when the latest in the Play Store doesn't work (if you use Android), you can download it here (second file):

But if you bought your device in the last 1.5 years, chances are very good that it is already up to date so you don't have to go through the struggle of finding a smartphone that works.
before you install the stable version make sure to remove the old one from your device. 🙂
is it possible to roll back to the original software? after updating to 2022 the detector is unstable and has a problem locating the target, keeps waking up, and can't figure out a pure id. i have q60 one year, and I am very dissatisfied with the way it works after the update, when it had the original software it worked much better.
Hi there! I am sorry to hear that the update made it worse for you. Unfortunately, there is no way to downgrade the software. As you only have your device one year, you still have warranty - I would suggest contacting the dealer you bought it from so it gets repaired/replaced

Hey there! The update came out at the start of 2021. There are no further updates on the way at the moment to our knowledge. :-) Do you have any problems with your detector?
@@QuestEurope everything is fine with the detector, but when we have something deeper, the detector squeaks but has no ID.
overall the ID could be even more stable :)

I own a Xiaomi redmi note 7 and through the quest go application I can't find the metal detector and then to connect .. so I tried with bluetooth (without using the application) and this one finds it for me (quest q30) but it asks me to enter a password. I've tried different combinations but can't connect. If I can't use the app, and I can't with my phone, how can I update my quest q30? I have followed all the instructions and done all the possible tests, the application is up to date. I have read that many people have this problem, how do I solve it? thank you
Hey there, thank you for the message! You have to connect it via the app, not in the Bluetooth settings of your device. Unfortunately, with some smartphones it doesn't seem to work. You can try by deinstalling and installing the app again, otherwise the best solution would be to try it with another smartphone (from a friend or family member for example). Older smartphones (e.g. Samsung Galaxy S5) tend to work better for some reason. We are investigating this issue and I will forward your information to the app development team - can you tell me which Android version is installed on your Xiaomi? I hope I could help!

Hey Gareth! Even if you have no wireless headphones connected, you can still activate the wireless headphones mode and the detector will be silent. Try hitting the upper button on the right side of the control unit to deactivate it. If this doesn't help, your detector might be broken - in this case contact the dealer you bought it from to investigate and repair it if needed. I hope this helps!

I am trying about 2 hours to conect my phone to the detector. Got the app, and search the detector in DEVICES-metal detector-bluetooth search, but he dont find him. Deinstall the app first, then install the file that you downloaded on this page. We are still working on the app to be able to connect to every device.
If you bought your device after the 1.03.2021, chances are very high it already is running on the latest software version, in this case you don't have to further try to connect it.
@@QuestEurope thanks... I will wait until the version is ok. I had another phone and worked, but now tryed on 2 different ones and dont see the detector. I bought it 2 years ago and worked with it but recently become very noissy, every touch of the cable, where is the contact with the coil. I reset it from factory but the problem still. I dont know if the coil is broke or the program may solve the problem.

Be sure to connect the device directly from the app and not from the bluetooth settings of your smartphone, this way you avoid having to type in a code.

Hey there, thank you for the message! The update does not affect the stability of the detectors. If you get many false signals, try lowering the sensitivity until there are no signals anymore.
If it is still very loud, there may be some kind of damage - in that case, contact the dealer you got your device from to get it repaired.

Hi! The Q35 does not support the Quest Go App and it is not possible to update the device. The software of the Q35 basically is an updated version of the software used in the Q30/Q30+ and Q60 for years.

To make sure that the pinpointing works fine, you have to start pressing the pinpoint button while there is NO metal close to the coil. It only works by comparing the current signal strength to the signal strength when starting the pinpoint function. If you considered this and it still doesn't work, please contact the dealer you bought the device from so you will get a new, working unit.

Hi, I am sorry to hear that! To get it to work again, you need to update the device again with the QuestGo App. Please try it how it is explained in the video. If it doesn't work or is not able to connect to the app, please read the additional tips in the video description.
If this does not work, please send it back to the dealer you bought it from with an explanation of the problem and they will update the device for you or send it to the service center for you.
How I connect the Q30 2022 with bleuthooth / app. If I search on bleuthooth self I see it. But in app it can t find the detector. Very strange if you ask me??
