Saw a video on another channel where she said he is fighting depression and anxiety. I hope she is doing alright! You are a special person Danielle, this world is so lucky to have you!
Hi Danielle, Great to see a couple of young ones added to your friends list. lol. The last rental property I had here in Adelaide I had a maggie family dropping in everyday. The mother and father would hang around for a few minutes then they'd fly off and leave their young ones with me for a while in my front yard, plenty of grass and the bird bath. Bit like a Kindergarten. Thank you for another video to make my smile. ☺
Either Boots is fawning with admiration or thinking the camera means screen test. It's amazing how trusting they are. Then again, they're so smart, they know whom to trust.
Anyone would think its the Maggies house and Danielle is just a guest. God, they've taken over the place! Thd thing I love most about Maggies is when they are perched up high on a tree branch, powerline or lamp post and then they decide to glide down to greet you, its poetry in motion, then when they're about a foot from the ground they just drop like a helicopter. Amazing to watch!!! 🧡
@ Jacinta Edwards. Love your comment 😊. Watching our urban magpie family, I'm learning how strong they are in flight. They seem to have ultra hearing - one warning call from a young one, or the sound of an unwelcome visitor, and they're off in a blink. Like scrambling jets on an aircraft carrier ! Snacks are left behind in an instant.
Yes, I had the same thing a few years a back at a different rental property. I had a nice green lawn in my yard and the whole Maggie family would drop in for a feed of worms or bugs, then the adult maggies would fly off and leave the 2 or 3 young ones with me while I read my books. They were very well behaved and entertaining.
I used to get left with the young maggies in the garden of a previous rental property I had. The mother and father would stick around for a few minutes then take off leaving 3 young ones who'd stick around for an hour pecking the grass for bugs.
When Maggies open their beaks like this they are cooling themselves. Mainly in summer months is when they sometimes struggle to avoid heatstress much like Mudlarks.
What a gorgeous happy little family 💚 Magpies warbling just make me smile. It’s such a beautiful sound. Obviously not to my neighbours ears though... if I go out on the balcony, 3-4 Magpies fly over & start warbling loudly for a snack - it drives my neighbours crazy! But I can’t give my Magpie family up.
Exceptionally cute .... we have a family that comes and shows off their babies every year to us..... I feed them grubs from the garden when possible...
I have a theory after closely watching Maggies over the last 14 years. When they have their beaks open especially in the warmer months I think they are overheating and need water to cool down. Just a theory, but they much like Mudlarks and Masked Lapwings struggle in the heat and need to splash in water to get cool again.
It makes me happy to know that there are still human beings out there living a worthwhile life. Just hearing these birds chattering to you makes me smile, nature is our best friend. I truly believe almost any animal can become 'mans best friend' . I always say Hi to the Magpies when im out running here in the south of England. Have a wonderful day ♥️♥️♥️
Mate there are a couple of things I need to know. Number one are you doing ok? Number two could you please capture the dawn call from your mob of lunatics. I want to give my locals something to talk about. The buggers seem to thrive on gossip from somewhere else! lol
man I wish birds here in Florida in the states would trust us enough to do this. We have like 8 feeding stations with a dozen or more feeders that we fill daily and none of them trust us like this. My aunt was able to get a wild squirrel to interact with her by giving it peanuts in the shell. Not birds though.. I love Magpies. I actually use them as a basis for a magical bird in a science fiction fantasy novel I’m writing. I think they are some of the most intelligent birds. Up there with Ravens and certain parrot species.
If you're interested in coming to Colorado and whispering to the magpies hanging out my backyard. let me know, they are fun watch but I can never get close.
The same with the european magpies. What i understand is that they are not really related. The Aussie ones have different DNA. My garden is full of magpies and i feed them but they don't trust me for a bit. They don't play with the toys and they are really violent to little birds. I like them because they are animals and they are the way they are. Aussie magpies are so friendly, its a good reason to immigrate to Australië..
Our local magpies aren’t well. Many of them look sick or disabled. It’s sad. I wish I could help. And most people do feed them here so I’m guessing that may be why 🤷🏽♀️
If magpies are extremely family orientated and territorial to the metre - I guess caring for strange magpies requires keeping them away from the wild ones?
Is it normal for a female magpie to breed twice a year? Ive noticed our backyard visitor has brought up her young ones accordingly, but she now takes the food we give her and flies off with it, as if to feed another batch? never seen this happen before.
Great video! Quick question - I've wondered for a while why birds sometimes keep their beaks open without making a sound or eating - is it to do with temperature control?
Im curious. In september, magpies attacks basically everything they see, to protect their babies, but what about you? Do their instincts take over or are you safe from getting swooped, as they are able to reason?
G'day Maggie whisperer just wondering if you can tell me how to stop the Maggie's killing each other I was inspired by you now the Maggie's are making me sad what can I do
Are you a Bogan by any chance? I only ask because you drive a Bogan Holden Commodore SS V8 (it's at least 20 years old and a typical Bogan mode of transport) and in one of your clips you're dressed in an Aussie flag costume (another common Bogan fashion style!)

I can relate to her. I suffer anxiety as I live in a terrible part of australia and I want to go home. Depression is a different story.
Beautiful little souls, so content. ...your backyard is full of them lol
2:45 lol
😂
The one smiling and looking at the camera is so darn cute 😻

What do you feed them?
The young one in the foreground is pulling a bit of a dumb ass face. Very cute expression, and so trusting.
Wow beautiful song
Magpies got me through lockdown, and now I have 2 dozen new friends I sit with everyday, just like you!

I genuinely like the sound the Australian Magpie - it is Quintessentially, Australian.
That wasn't a song, that was a full on rock concert, everyone singing with the band. 😊

Wow, that first magpie is absolutely in love with you. That's so wonderful!😍

I loved the Magpies in Co a youngster used to tease my husky when he was a puppy I’m in Fl now and don’t get to see them unfortunately.

I looked it up. Aussie magpies are not crowfamily. The rest of the magpie worldwide are crow related..
Where's your patreon so we can help you look after these magpies
This is what I want to wake up to 🙂
I always feed my local Maggies and they repay the favour by not attacking me during breeding season 👍
LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME!!!!!!!! Love it!!!!!!!
I need this to happen in my life. Where do I have to move to? Australia?

Hi danielle just saying hi and I'm glad u found something u like ..

So very cool!!!…
Birds admiring one another
How did you make friends with them?
I love their sound. Like the water from a small river quietly babbling. So calming. Is the fren on the front still baby?

Scrambled secrets.

When they lay on the ground with their wings spread out they are moulting........mostly during december and january.
This is my favourite channal 💜
Magpies and chill
I wonder if Boots is still around?

We had Maggie's for years but lately the Kurrawongs have scared them off unfortunately...thanks for sharing 👍👍👍
Magpies scared? I'd love to see that!!! 🤣
@@jacintaedwards1123 i know what you mean lol but its true!!
@@Time_Waster3 I also love the Currawongs, but Crows & Ravens nope. Crows & Magpies don't mix!
☺️ Love these videos and magpies too, so of course I subscribed. But because of the noise, I must admit I'm very glad not to be your neighbor! 🤭 🤣
Do the magpies you rehabilitate ever join the flock?
Che concerto 😻💕😂
How complex do you think there language is?

I know that look. It's how I look at my girlfriend too.
You should post more magpie videos...,
Hi from NZ.
How do they react when you play back a recording of their singing?
Have you added more sounds to the video?
I would sun bathe every day.
Where did you go? No more uploads?
Hey, how are you Danielle?
You are such a wonderful person and you do an amazing job with those magpies, give us any notice pls

The one in front of the camera is broken. (?). Or she is looking at something we can't see!

Just noticed it was old footage
She hasn't posted for a while, does anyone know if Danielle is OK?
Hi Ali,
I'm okay! :) Thanks for your concern.

That's a relief, thank you. 😊
