But the Gleim CIA Review Books are really the stars. They outline all of the information you’ll need to understand before you sit for the CIA exam. The books will be indispensable on your journey to become a CIA.

The video also demonstrates the Gleim online platform and SmartAdapt Technology that helps you study with more efficiency. The platform is basically your personal mobile classroom. Through the video, you’ll get a feel for the extra tools like the downloadable audio lectures, the Gleim Instruct Supplemental Videos, and the Gleim CIA Exam Guide.
When you begin your Gleim online course, the platform first creates a personalized study plan based on your anticipated exam date. When you’re building your study planner, you can input the number of hours you can study on each day of the week. The planner then directs what you should review each week. You can even request for a Gleim counselor to email you with a personal nudge if you get off track.
Once you’ve finished your study plan, the platform takes you to the study units that you need to master. Each unit starts with a diagnostic quiz that establishes your baseline for learning. At the end, you’ll get a breakdown of what content you’ve probably conquered and what topics you still need to learn. If you want, you can go back through the quiz and read the explanations for each of the correct and incorrect answers.
After the diagnostic quiz, Gleim directs you to reading assignments from the Gleim books, videos, and audio lectures that you teach will you concepts you missed on the quiz. After you’ve finished learning each study unit’s material through the readings and lectures, you can test yourself with focus questions.
So in this way, the Gleim course leads you through a loop of learning concepts, testing yourself, and then going back over what you missed. This method should help reduce your overall study time.
Finally, this video walks through the other Gleim features. For example, the Gleim Practice Exams mimic the real testing environment at the Pearson test centers. Or, you can start a Gleim Study Session, which gives you immediate feedback as you answer questions. You can even tailor your Study Sessions to only cover the content you want to review. Gleim also has a multiple-choice question test bank, but you might not want to use it since the same questions also appear in the adaptive quizzes.

Great update, planning on doing my CIA over 2021 and starting preparations over the remainder of the year, hope that the Gleim review will help me pass first time around. Been delaying doing it as its quite a expensive course to do. Having to buy study materials and exam costs. Its nice to follow all your updates, they are very clear and answers alot of questions that comes to mind to prepare for CIA.

Hi Stephanie! I have the Gleim 2017. Is this enough to prepare for the CIA exam now, or would I really need the Gleim 2021?
Hello! The CIA Exam changed greatly in 2019, so the 2017 materials would contain info no longer tested + would also miss all the NEW info tested. So, I can't recommend using older materials. How the adaptive test works when you get the same results over and over to study?
Layla, after 2 going through studying more than twice, you should likely move on to another study unit. The adaptive engine shouldn't keep telling you to study though. I believe there should be prompts telling you to move on after a couple tries. Remember, you always have your in-depth final review to conquer weak areas. Lower scores during your first passthrough of Gleim (or any CIA course) are very normal. Final review is where you should see score improvements.
