I dont understand all the hate in the comments.
The movie shows latvian perspective from ww1(if that is not original i dont know what is) and altough it doesnt have the budget like Hollywood movies, it does have not that bad visual effects. Thats why they probably made it more like a drama than a war movie, so they dont have to focus on effects.
All in all a solid 6.5 or even 7 out of 10.
    But its definitely worth watching!
Hope you have a nice Day :)

I was sad that they cut out the girl in the beginning story, the description of the automatic machine guns, the dead bodies with the smog rolling in at the beginning sequence, and the sequence of his girl being taken away in the field. However, with all that complaint, I must weigh in and say "Blizzard of Souls" as edited is a hundred times better than 1917 and with the other footage in would have been amazing to absorb.

This snatched my attention as it is showing the dark dark side of war while also featuring great personal triumphs under extremely harsh circumstances. It even has a love story in it to bring out even more emotions. The actors are looking real real good, directors and writers have also done a great job of capturing the momentum.

I love how the comments are all debates about how the visuals look or being tedious about the authenticity of minor details. When it says it's more realistic than 1917 it's on about the STORY not the effects. I can't back it up because although I do have a strong interest in WW1/2 and war in general I can't say how realistic other parts would be. I've heard good things about it though and I'd also like to point out the trailer for Lord of the Rings was SHIT and yet it's still a good film so don't judge everything on the trailer.
