I was in some email discussion groups with Hanson back in the mid 90s and have followed his career with interest ever since. He has a way of thinking about the world that is unlike anyone else I've seen. Reading his blog is like getting your brain turned inside out and cleaned. He has a habit of challenging orthodoxies in new ways which makes him somewhat unpopular with political ideologues and their craven, captured academic allies. But that's a feature, not a bug for anyone who just wants to have true beliefs. Great vid.
Robin Hanson is probably one of the smartest people on the planet. Thanks for having him on. His theories keep amazing me through the years. Absolutely incredible mind.
This is by far one of the most intelligent conversations related to this topic ever made. Great big picture questions that challenge the behavior of whats has been seen . Excellent both.
Agreed. As a man of science myself, I find it so hard to buy into the ET hypothesis because of everything the professor has explained. Then again, this phenomenon is so mysterious that we can't rule it out, hence the lack of answers on the topic. I agree so much with professor Hanson and I share the way of approaching the phenomenon: fun speculation while trying to maintain a little bit of sense into the conversation via our current scientific knowledge of the cosmos.
I was raised to believe in God.. My dad's a preacher he thinks they're demons.. My neighbor thinks there angels.. My faith and God is not rattled at all But I must admit I can't wait to see how this whole thing unfolds.. I have heard of the Scientists who believe in God..how do you feel about such?

Just came across this video. How did I miss this one until now? It’s great mental food. He’s articulating a lot of what has been pinging my mind and bothering me about how the questions about the UAP phenomenon are being framed. Really appreciate him putting it into clear language. I love the way this guy thinks! Reminds me a bit of Dr Atul Gawande. You’re doing fabulous work, Mr Graves. I hope you continue in this vein of integrity.
Picking Robin Hanson Brain About This Stuff Is So Interesting Bro Knows What He Is Talking About And Breaks It Down For Us To Understand This Man Is Very Intelligent 🧠💪🏽🤞🏽🔥💯
I thought this episode would be my least favorite. Turns out, I'm convinced this is the most important interview, yet. I'm now watching it for a second time. And the wheels in my head are churning.... Amazing stuff...
Ryan Graves- your light and intelligence shines with increasing brightness. Thank you for showing yourself to us and for facilitating this wonderful discussion.
I love the direction you're taking this podcast, Ryan. I think some, or even many, people in The Community (especially newer people) will say, "Just show me the UFOs/UAPs!" but if even ONE of the explanations to The Phenomenon is "aliens/ETs bound by the laws of quantum field theory," then this is exactly the type of approach we need to take. Same with the prior episode on dark matter, etc.: if we're assuming a level playing field, we have to acknowledge what we know about "normal matter" but also show there are things we still don't understand, e.g., dark matter/dark energy. It may very well be that The Phenomenon are MANY things...but I think we can all agree and admit that one of the biggest hopes is alien life/ETs traveling the cosmos to reach us. So, in order to confirm or deny that, we need thoughtful, rational, and introspective discussions such as those offered here on your platform. I also appreciate the approach you are taking in both the civil aviation and scientific communities to build work and consensus. You're doing great things, and I encourage you to please continue. I may not live to see Disclosure (TM), but maybe my grandchild(ren) will, thanks to efforts like this that people like you have begun. Thank you, Ryan Graves.
Robin Hanson is awesome. I love this guy. And for some reason i find his breathy laugh amusing. 😊 And Ryans Podcast is far superior to that other fighter Pilot's podcast. He actually pays attention to his guests instead of scrolling through comments while the guest talks. His questions are intelligent and relevant and insightful.
Hands down, one of the most illuminating & wide-ranging discussions on the phenomena & its implications that I've ever listened to. Thank you, Mr. Graves and Mr. Hanson. Well-done.
@cole hamer Since people can say anything anytime, what type of proof is it you're looking for then, sir? Do you want to shake hands with an alien or something?

At last. We've been tangled in endless and long threads of agreed truths of uap but until this podcast had not woven the 'cloth' of the undeniable. This is the first time in our UAP history I have heard an intelligent discussion of the blindingly obvious. Maybe that was the hope - keep us stuck in a defense mode so we take longer to examine the important question: Okay, what's next. This will be recalled as the moment humans first saw a need to plan. My hope lies in the 'rot'.
I don’t have a whole lot of doubt for Ryan Grave’s accounts or his authenticity, but damn, Robin hit him pretty hard around the 01:58:00 mark. His vector of questioning was uniquely intuitive and right at it. If Ryan is not 100% authentic, Robin is a few points above. Great interview on whatever end of the spectrum here.
Mr Hanson knows. He’s being coy. So intelligent. He knows they are alien, and he knows where to look. Plus, if I ever need to be represented in court, Mr. Hanson, you’re hired!
This guy gets it. Probably the best discussion on the phenomenon. All scientists on AARO & the NASA panel on UAP etc. Always harping on needing “more data”. Which is just a smoke screen. There has always been data. They should be required to was this.
Thanks. I really appreciated the analogy of being the king's brother, but not the king. And, I enjoyed the explanation of who they are, where they are from, what they are doing here, why do they only appear on the edge of visibility, and what our "leash length" might be.

Good job at the hearing, Mr. Graves! Thanks for speaking out ,and thanks for looking out for our commercial and military pilots. It was really cool knowing your company is helping pilots have an avenue to tell their stories and try to get policy changes to reflect the modern world and the realities we have to face.
Yep it's an awesome convo! Hanson is really cool and a very smart guy obviously. This is out there but I like how his theory fits the data we have from people who've claimed to see aliens and explains why they look similar to us ... humanoid at least.
Hi Ryan, thank you for having the courage and conviction for doing what you do within this subject matter and for helping others that maybe afraid to look at it objectively. I have enjoyed all of your episodes thus far, however this one really struck a chord how open the conversation was and the discussion around what pilots see within the air space, liked the fact you gave more information around the objects, how they moved and the sensor system used. I do hope this will encourage others to come forward and say what they can about what they see, and hopefully, this will reduce the throw away comments like it was a balloon! and help them look at the bigger picture when investigating UAP.
With the US Navy's black-cube-in-sphere pointing to 'black box testing' (systems analysis), the most salutary output is Ryan's activism - whoever's doing the testing must be impressed :) As for Robin, I love hearing the focus on the social-science study of this potential other civilisation. Hypotheses such as his (and Kevin Knuth's) are excellent thought-fodder.
Love this! Robin Hanson is so reasonable when talking about UAP, i wish he would be more open and lexx sceptical when it comes to the current developments in AI.
LOVE the conversation... but a friendly suggestion - you guys should wear headphones so you are aware of the volume of your voice (or lack there of) in the microphone when you move away. This was an amazing conversation with a man of science who tries to approach this phenomenon from a non-biased, objective point of view, analyzing it for what we know so far about UAPs and what we know so far of the universe. This is exactly the way I see the UAP mystery: yeah sure, so many things can be explained with "alien technology", but then again, I am a man of sience myself, and there are sooooooo many factors that make the ET hypothesis extremely unlikely. Basically everything can contraddict itself, that's why I can't wrap my head around it, I just can't find answers. This was refreshing to listen to and I agree so much with professor Robin Hanson
Great episode! I love Robins work. Makes you really think in macro and micro perspective at the same time. A blend of cosmology and basic social human behaviour.
It seems the way in which these objects are presenting themselves alone, could be the answer to their expectations and requirements from us as a species very interesting and perceptive from both really enjoyed this conversation : )
He certainly has an uncanny foresight / insight that few have displayed in this field. I keep coming back to this interview, and each time I gain something new to ponder and piece into my own experiences.
Robin has some great ideas! I enjoyed every minute of this episode. His *"Sibling Pan-spermia"* theory was particularly interesting. Imho, he's on to something there, if we searched for our Sun's siblings, in our galactic neighborhood, is a great start for searching for other intelligent life out there. Or perhaps older solar systems than ours in our galactic neighborhood. I feel like those are the best chances for finding signs, at the very least. We need to have 3 or 4 satellites, like the JWST, at the lagrange points to increase our capabilities. Or, have a satellite or 2 orbiting the moon, this would help us observe even farther than the JWST can observe.
By far the most interesting discussion out there in a very long time 😮 Watched Eric W at Joe R speculated about how we maybe should ask ourselves if we really understand physics in the case that this is real. This is on the same path, asking the right questions ❤
Hi Ryan (Graves). Thank you for sharing your excellent video presentation and interview with Robin Hanson. A very interesting discussion, thank you 😊. I hope your determination to investigate air safety related to UAP-USO incidents is continuing going forward. Regards from Wales UK 🇬🇧.
Ryan Graves and Robin Hanson. I like the idea of the power of 6. In 1990-1992 I was based in Soltau, West Germany as a British Armed forces senior rank and MTO, when the East German Wall came down, and West Germany was full of East German Trabant 50km vehicles made from compressed cardboard and glue vehicles body's and lawnmower engines flooded onto the Autobahn's as the owners purchased just about everything they could carry back to East German. Then the First Gulf War 1990-1991 happened, as MTO I remained behind due to previous injuries and set up a driver training for wives and dependent children over 18 years old to be trained to drive, maintaining and use their family cars parked on the main parade square after their husbands deployed. We trained and tested over 400 wives trained by civil instructors and tested by myself as the only examiner remaining in 1 Divison. Sadly, upon the return of my Soltau and Lunenberg Garrison Military vehicles and equipment, I became cross contaminated by what came back from the Gulf War, causing critical health problems and developing Gulf War Illness linked to exposure of CBRNE WMD, Organophosphates, DDT, DU, etc. Instantly developing extremely rare and unique cancers and abnormal growths all growing in our brains, bodies, and extremities, then passing them onto our families and pet's who also developed abnormal growths, acute allergies, overloaded autoimmune systems, internal bleeding from the bowel and kidneys, then the extremely rare and unique cancers started growing at a rate of 7 inches every 6 weeks, infiltrated into surrounding tissues and organs. No one had ever seen these cancers before outside of Japan following the attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki with atomic bombs. The second generation survivors had developed similar rare and unique cancers. The power of 6 really happens quick. One 2 to 4 hour period of exposure was enough to cause cross contamination in four separate British service personnel, who reported sick and bedded down in their respective married quarters only for us to then cross contaminate our respective families and pet's who all developed acute allergies and health problems on contact with our uniforms, followed by these extremely rare and unique cancers. Some died, I was very lucky, I had access to a unique Oncologist Surgeon, former RAF Surgeon, 7 consultant pathologists with specialist training in CBRNE WMD, and an American director teaching Pathology and Cytology at University of Virginia, together the four of us planned our next course of action, 37 major medical operations and thousands of minor medical procedures since 1990-1991. The military in the Western world try to defend and protect innocent people, but in so doing place their own lives, and that of their accompanying families and pet's who protect them at a greater risk which apparently civilian life is totally unaware. It was great listening to you both on this podcast episode 👏 👌 🙌. Ryan, I am looking forward to listening to all your podcasts and presentations. They help people outside the military to understand what perceived threats that these Unidentified Aerial Phenomena and Unidentified Submerged Objects can bring to our current Western Armed Forces, especially American, British and Canadian (ABC) along with the alliance forces who fight alongside us to defend NATO and UN, and those countries we are deployed to protect. I feel for all pilots, they are literally seeing thousands of these UAP-USO Crafts and incidents, un yet our consecutive governments and politicians refuse to knowledge UAP-USO incidents or the existence of these crafts that often defy the law of physics as we humans know them. I think, there is a wide awakening coming, and maybe reality is not exactly what we thought it was ! Time senior University academics re-investigated our world and laws we thought controlled our existence. SKY360.ORG UAP Project members maybe will find some answers. I hope so 🙏.
1:06:52 “adapting” is the key point that scientists miss, because they are usually examining nonsentient phenomena like gravity or the weather. As soon as the observed phenomena is conscious of your activity, you have an intelligence problem. (I’m aware of collapsing the wave function under observation, etc. This is different. This is like catching someone who’s trying to evade you.) Assuming the phenomena are conducting intelligence collection against us, then we now have a counterintelligence problem.
Ryan Graves would hit a child is all I took away from this. KIDDING this was your best guest by far. Crazy how much he addresses to the Grusch whistleblower.
Great podcast Ryan, thank you for the awesome work! Only thing that could be better is when you or your guest put your hands on the table there is an annoying "bang" or "bang bang" which you can hear quite well with headphones and can get on your nerves after a while. Even though the topic is ultra fascinating and exciting.
We live in a galaxy that had its beginning at the beginning of the universe. This was approximately 13.8 billion years ago. In the beginning, there were no planets for life for technological civilizations like ours to arise on, but eventually our corner of the universe did have a first one. Either we are the first or we are not. If we are first, we have our answer. If we wish to consider the alternative, the first was necessarily in the past. We know the speed of light, and we know the size of our galaxy. There are no physical constraints we know of to prevent an Earth like planet forming a billion years after the Big Bang. Whether that first planet is the one that eventually achieves interstellar replication doesn't matter too much, just that it can happen reasonably early. The energy and matter requirements of "going everywhere" are trivial compared to the matter and energy available to us in our solar system. Any conflict between alien civilizations would have happened long ago, because a plausible scenario of conflict existing for billions of years is difficult to support. Once the power structure is established, all other civilizations that arise do so within this power structure. It is only an enforcement mechanism that can address the idea of exclusivity (briefly explained that you have to explain why ALL aliens don't invade us.) We take our first steps into the galaxy as a species not knowing exactly what the rules are, but I believe it is reasonable that those rules exist and they have been tested with other species for a very long time. This to me doesn't feel like special knowledge, and I fully admit that we could be the first. In fact, as long as we're not being actively told not to do something I propose the following course of action: Act like we're the first until shown otherwise, but let's stay open minded and considerate of alternate possibilities.
Wow that's a whole new sobering perspective. Thankyou for an excellent episode. (Edit) what if we've already crossed the line with nukes etc and they are just waiting, letting Moloch do its thing.
Some really interesting and thought provoking ideas in this podcast. I personally tend to favour the idea that the relationship between us and uap is akin to the relationship between us and wild animals, in that we might enjoy observing them in their own habitat but we don't tend to directly interfere to much - safari park analogy. I don't see why one might jump to the conclusion that uap are, in some way, trying to limit our development or aspirations, in the same way we don't limit the development or evolution of the wild animals we live alongside. It would seem to me that any interfering in another civilisation would breach their 'prime directive' as outlined here. This guys argument also assumes that the uap consider humans to be advanced enough to be of concern, and I don't see why an alien would jump to that conclusion considering that we're basically monkeys with a few bits of tech. Also, if Hanson's theory was correct you'd also think the uap would have stopped the Voyager probes in their tracks, considering they are now in interstellar space. Loved this episode again though. Top stuff!
Amazingly interesting interview, It took me a while to get my head around the grabby aliens argument, and the 6 hard steps process. That would explain why the sky is empty

This is such a fascinating discussion. I rarely throw this around but I believe Robin is about as close to a genius as i've ever seen.
He certainly has an uncanny foresight / insight that few have displayed in this field.
I keep coming back to this interview, and each time I gain something new to ponder and piece into my own experiences.
@@Quidisi me too fam, me too.
Ryan! Thank you for the episode and everything else you've done, an will do.
Thank you very much Robin and Ryan. ❤
great episode. Robin Hanson is a brilliant mind.
By far the most interesting discussion out there in a very long time 😮 Watched Eric W at Joe R speculated about how we maybe should ask ourselves if we really understand physics in the case that this is real. This is on the same path, asking the right questions ❤
thank you for doing those podcasts! we need to know our options - couldn't agree more
Hi Ryan (Graves).
Paradigm shifting episode. Thanks.
This is so awesome 👏 thanks for the amazing interview
1:06:52 “adapting” is the key point that scientists miss, because they are usually examining nonsentient phenomena like gravity or the weather. As soon as the observed phenomena is conscious of your activity, you have an intelligence problem. (I’m aware of collapsing the wave function under observation, etc. This is different. This is like catching someone who’s trying to evade you.) Assuming the phenomena are conducting intelligence collection against us, then we now have a counterintelligence problem.
Thank you for reporting this growing situation
Ryan Graves would hit a child is all I took away from this. KIDDING this was your best guest by far. Crazy how much he addresses to the Grusch whistleblower.
Fascinating conversation!!
Incredible conversation.
Haha!
Amazing interview. I'm well read on the subject and still learned a bunch of new concepts and angles from listening. The guest knows his shit
Great conversation, really enjoyed that.
Really great show. Seems very straight forward arguments can lead to fairly obvious conclusions. It's pretty amusing as well!
I am watching this on repeat, lovely conversation. Moving the conversation forward. Cheers 👽🛸🍻🫂💚
A picture is worth a thousand words was never more applicable than this interview.
Love the new set, Never stop the good fight Ryan!
Amazing interview Ryan. thanks!
Fascinating, intriguing, want to learn more!
Top stuff!
First time hearing this theory or the guest. Sounds pretty much on point. Incredibly interesting.
Robbin, he’s that nightmare student turned professor. They did it to get him off their backs. That's a compliment.
Amazingly interesting interview, It took me a while to get my head around the grabby aliens argument, and the 6 hard steps process. That would explain why the sky is empty
