Johan Al Falah I disagree, "bad management" is always the fallback position for those who don't understand how Kpop works as a business; if you take into account the size of Pledis as a company which isn't that big, and compare it to similar sized companies I would argue that not only does Pledis promote extremely well for its size it promotes as well or better than companies which are bigger like Cube and MBK, of course they aren't perfect and have made mistakes but as their size has increased so has the quality of their promotions.

Pledis has been getting their shit together these past few years. Also, I hate to say this, but AS are probably not coming back, all the original members have graduated (I hate this stupid term). Their last activities were in Japan in 2015. I saw a glimmer of hope for OC when they guested on Sugar Man last year, but I guess not.

Sorry but it was poor planning/ approval of events. Management was weak because Pledis doesn’t know how to build a base. Your base starts in Korea. Truth though, they never properly appealed to Korean audiences. However, foreign groups in China, Japan, other Asian countries, even some South American countries for After School, just absolutely found them enticing. But that’s traveling that takes time and energy out of the groups. And not to mention money. And you can’t make music and choreography when you are on the road thinking about your current songs. Nope and Pledis doesn’t spend money on choreographers or song writers. For the most part, these kids are doing it themselves.
It made me tear up. I miss Son Dam Bi. I miss After School. I am proud of Orange Caramel. I live for Kahi. I am sad for Nu'est. I am nostalgic for the original Hello Venus. I am happy for Seventeen. I congratulate Pristin. Pledis may I failed several times. I see a little light for the future. Han Dong Geun blew me away tbh. He charted out of the blue.

I'm sick of people blaming Seventeen for what happened to Nu'est. Nu'est start loses fans way before seventeen's debut and seventeen's debut is also delayed. It is their overseas schedule that made it hard for nue'st to build a fanbase in korea. So i think pledis has learned from their mistakes and that is why seventeen is doing good now. I remembered when overcome came out, the views for nu'est performances was like 15k but now I am just so proud of them for gaining new fans and old ㄴㅇㅅㅌ's that made nu'est one of the top boy group again. I hope nu'est and seventeen will continue to grow and i hope fans of 17 and nu'est support each other because they are from the same label and they themselves support each other.
Poor Han Dong Geun. I was really glad when his debut single started toping the charts out of the blue, just because he went to a music variety show. He didn't have a debut stage nor proper promotions, like Raina's second single or his duet with Jung Ah. My favourite has always been Kahi's. Her dance part was so powerful. Then NU'EST's, After School's and SEVENTEEN. PRISTIN's showcase was good, but I liked their performance for Music Bank the best. I liked Son Dambi's Crazy's stages the best, out of all her promotions.

Pledis are the best when it comes to training but worst in managing their talents. Good thing Seventeen's so smart to take care of themselves and value carats well to have saved Pledis from bankruptcy. Oh and also to Nuest who swallowed their pride to join produce101 and become trainees again.
The thing I've noticed about Pledis is that they usually only debut artist who sing really well live which is good, since I really like the vocals that Pleids debuts.

All of their debuts are bop but when you'll say the best or successful, it would be Nu'est. Why? Nu'est Face is still the most viewed male debut mv until now , their debut Face charted melon Top 15 with millions of stream (u all know hard to be on melon) It's one of the greatest achievement a group could have, and they just debuted that time. They could've been big if only Pledis doesn't send them Japan and overseas when they're still at the peak of their career. All we could do know is support them and other pledis grps
i feel bad for Dong Geun, i sometimes listen to his songs. Theyre amazing, his voice is beautiful, and both the lyrics of the songs and stories are stunning. But, theyre so melancholy i cant bring myself to listen them. He is definitely not promoted right and is underrated among pledis artists and kpop in general. GoddessJishook I was actually watching this weird sort of introduction documentary to NU'EST the other day, and there's kind of a reason why they didn't do too well. They initially had popularity on par with EXO's when they debuted with Face, and their comeback following had a similar concept to their debut. Fans assumed that would be their forever concept, and most stanned based on that. Their next comeback was a completely different concept, they lost a lot of fans, they tried a different concept, they lost more fans, and then PLEDIS did this dumb thing where they sent NU'EST to Japan to do promotions there for around a year, which basically broke apart whatever remaining Korean fanbase they had. Their next comebacks just didn't chart well and they didn't have much of a fanbase after the Japan promotions. Their songs kept on charting lower and lower until they just didn't chart at all. Essentially, the decisions that PLEDIS made on NU'EST's behalf were the reason why NU'EST failed. They truly deserve better.

I dont really understand why some fans are blaming Svt for nuest failure that are actually brothers. Real brothers, they are soo close. And Svt debuted when pledis was so broke. They are like the experimental groups and they even paid their mv just to debut. And i love Nuest since Face era and i have come to love Svt and now Pristin.

After reading these comments, I can't help but to get sad and disappointed.. most of us are blaming Pledis for not handling good their artists...which is partly true in a financial way , because Pledis is just a small company before and they do not have enough budget for their artists, you can research that if you want.In my opinion, Pledis cares so much for their artists and it also hurts them if they failed in promoting them.I think it's still up to their artists if they want to continue their career with Pledis or not because afterschool is still under Pledis right? Charlene Orphiano some of the after school members are actually making money from cfs, modelling, and drama. But I agree with you. The korean audience was hard to please during that time like what happened to nu'est, Hello was actually one of their best songs but the fans didn't like it because it's different from their face and action concept. I'm actually a Kpop fan from 2010 and I witnessed how AS was not liked due to their sexy songs. If the Pledis fandom can just get together and give AS a comeback that would be nice.

Pledis is just lucky af. Han dong geun is known for a variety program after having zero promotion. Nuest became well known after been in produce 101 as well as pledis girls (aka pristin) -honestly pledis you own so much to that show. I think that they only did a good job with seventeen, but again the lucky factor is also there cause svt debut took many years and at that point they were their only hope. Pledis artist are very talented but pledis was just not good at promoting them, I guess they are getting their shit together nowadays.
Yoo Ara left Pledis a couple months after the two companies did not renew their joint contract, in November I believe, she joined an acting company called Urban Works to further her acting career but the only thing she did was a musical in Japan, she seems to have since left as she is no longer listed under that company but nobody knows what she is doing. Yoonjo stayed a little longer with Pledis and appeared in a music video but shortly afterwards she was in a magazine interview where she stated she didn't want to be in another girl-group again, she is currently under a modeling agency but what she is doing is anyone's guess.
That Yoo Ara isn't singing anymore is a crime, she has a fantastic voice. And Yoonjo was my HV bias, she is adorable. Sad she gave up on the idol world.
Just talking about NU’EST here: What’s really sad was that when they first debuted, they blew up and were really popular but then PLEDIS didn’t manage and promote them correctly so they just disappeared. They then went back to being trainees despite being debuted for 5 years and then joined Produce 101, which I think is really brave of them, to try and build their fan base again. I felt so bad for them, especially JR (Jonghyun), because of the pressure of being leader (JR) and them being debuted for 5 years and not having their first win yet. They got some hate because of that and it made me upset. I love NU’EST so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
pledis nowadays could have been one of the biggest companies only if it had a better management with After School, Nu'est and Hello Venus, there were (still are to me) one of the biggest groups, and pledis would grow even more specially now with SEVENTEEN's and PRISTIN's popularity.

Let's not forget that they went bankrupt and SEVENTEEN Project debut was their bestest decision to rise from falling. And it was a long term credit. Also, Pledis didn't give up on other artists, they became honest and needed to survive that's why they left. Stop with the blaming... Pledis is such a good company. Seventeen is my biggest stan and I respect Nuest in line.

I've seen all Pledis artists debut since 2012 (Nu'est to now), and when i got into kpop (arround 2011) i fell so hard for After School and Orange Caramel♥ I'm so proud of being with them since the very begining (Nu'est, Hello Venus, Raina and Lizzy's solo debuts, SVTN, my adored Pledis Girls that finally debuted as PRISTIN♥). I feel like a proud mom, watching my precious children gaining attention after P101 both seasons. I don't know what would happen with my Nu'est without P101, i was so afraid and sorry that just me purchasing the albums wouldn't save them from disbanding, but now they are up high♥ And for all the love PRISTIN recived because of -Pinky- KyulKyung and -stone- NaYoung debuting on I.O.I, i'm so thankfull.
HelloVenus was always a Fantagio group, they entered into a two year contract with Pledis who supplied two of it's trainees under a joint management group called Tricell Media, Fantagio was to be responsible for getting acting roles etc for the girls and Pledis was responsible for the training, music and concepts as well as music promotions, they didn't renew their partnership and the girls went back to their respective agencies.
I was really surprised to see HV here! I was about to ask why it seems to me Pledis does not give HV the same budget for mv's and stuff (than to Seventeen etc.), but if they are not with Pledis anymore that explains it.

Pledis are the best when it comes to training but worst in managing their talents. Good thing Seventeen's so smart to take care of themselves and value carats well to have saved Pledis from bankruptcy. Oh and also to Nuest who swallowed their pride to join produce101 and become trainees again.

The thing I've noticed about Pledis is that they usually only debut artist who sing really well live which is good, since I really like the vocals that Pleids debuts.

All of their debuts are bop but when you'll say the best or successful, it would be Nu'est. Why? Nu'est Face is still the most viewed male debut mv until now , their debut Face charted melon Top 15 with millions of stream (u all know hard to be on melon) It's one of the greatest achievement a group could have, and they just debuted that time. They could've been big if only Pledis doesn't send them Japan and overseas when they're still at the peak of their career. All we could do know is support them and other pledis grps
i feel bad for Dong Geun, i sometimes listen to his songs. Theyre amazing, his voice is beautiful, and both the lyrics of the songs and stories are stunning. But, theyre so melancholy i cant bring myself to listen them. He is definitely not promoted right and is underrated among pledis artists and kpop in general. I do hope he gains more popularity ;( if anyone watches this video please check him out

now we have seventeen, one of the biggest rising boy group, nu'est who finally see a new light, pristin- a very promising rookie girl group, han dongguen who work wonderful at digital and orange caramel (tbh i don't think after school will comeback ever again)

GoddessJishook I was actually watching this weird sort of introduction documentary to NU'EST the other day, and there's kind of a reason why they didn't do too well. They initially had popularity on par with EXO's when they debuted with Face, and their comeback following had a similar concept to their debut. Fans assumed that would be their forever concept, and most stanned based on that. Their next comeback was a completely different concept, they lost a lot of fans, they tried a different concept, they lost more fans, and then PLEDIS did this dumb thing where they sent NU'EST to Japan to do promotions there for around a year, which basically broke apart whatever remaining Korean fanbase they had. Their next comebacks just didn't chart well and they didn't have much of a fanbase after the Japan promotions. Their songs kept on charting lower and lower until they just didn't chart at all. Essentially, the decisions that PLEDIS made on NU'EST's behalf were the reason why NU'EST failed. They truly deserve better.

I dont really understand why some fans are blaming Svt for nuest failure that are actually brothers. Real brothers, they are soo close. And Svt debuted when pledis was so broke. They are like the experimental groups and they even paid their mv just to debut. And i love Nuest since Face era and i have come to love Svt and now Pristin.

seventeen and pristin has the most success....well seventeen mostly so far since they are rising as one of the top boybands. nuest couldve been one of the top groups. pledis come out so well with their training then artists most of them became underrated which pushed them into bankruptcy then seventeen appeared like wild unicorns that saved the day. yet ohw pledis treat their artists are a whole different story that makes me mad yet scared

After reading these comments, I can't help but to get sad and disappointed.. most of us are blaming Pledis for not handling good their artists...which is partly true in a financial way , because Pledis is just a small company before and they do not have enough budget for their artists, you can research that if you want.In my opinion, Pledis cares so much for their artists and it also hurts them if they failed in promoting them.I think it's still up to their artists if they want to continue their career with Pledis or not because afterschool is still under Pledis right? Even though they're not active. Even though they're not making money for pledis unlike what Cube Ent. did to 4minute which broke my heart. :(
Charlene Orphiano some of the after school members are actually making money from cfs, modelling, and drama. But I agree with you. The korean audience was hard to please during that time like what happened to nu'est, Hello was actually one of their best songs but the fans didn't like it because it's different from their face and action concept. I'm actually a Kpop fan from 2010 and I witnessed how AS was not liked due to their sexy songs. If the Pledis fandom can just get together and give AS a comeback that would be nice.

Pledis is just lucky af. Han dong geun is known for a variety program after having zero promotion. Nuest became well known after been in produce 101 as well as pledis girls (aka pristin) -honestly pledis you own so much to that show. I think that they only did a good job with seventeen, but again the lucky factor is also there cause svt debut took many years and at that point they were their only hope. Pledis artist are very talented but pledis was just not good at promoting them, I guess they are getting their shit together nowadays.

Yoo Ara left Pledis a couple months after the two companies did not renew their joint contract, in November I believe, she joined an acting company called Urban Works to further her acting career but the only thing she did was a musical in Japan, she seems to have since left as she is no longer listed under that company but nobody knows what she is doing. Yoonjo stayed a little longer with Pledis and appeared in a music video but shortly afterwards she was in a magazine interview where she stated she didn't want to be in another girl-group again, she is currently under a modeling agency but what she is doing is anyone's guess.
That Yoo Ara isn't singing anymore is a crime, she has a fantastic voice. And Yoonjo was my HV bias, she is adorable. Sad she gave up on the idol world.

What’s really sad was that when they first debuted, they blew up and were really popular but then PLEDIS didn’t manage and promote them correctly so they just disappeared. They then went back to being trainees despite being debuted for 5 years and then joined Produce 101, which I think is really brave of them, to try and build their fan base again. I felt so bad for them, especially JR (Jonghyun), because of the pressure of being leader (JR) and them being debuted for 5 years and not having their first win yet. They got some hate because of that and it made me upset.

i feel like seventeen revived pledis; and i dont mean to sound biased bc my favorite two groups ARE pristin and seventeen,,, but pledis poured all of the company into seventeen in the hopes that they would become one of the top boy groups, and thats what happened. now look at pristin, who everybody was waiting for their debut and had a LOT of fans in the audience chanting for them. i'm not biased and i completely respect older label artists but thats what i believe.

You guys should stop blaming Pledis for these artists leaving and ending their contract with the Entertainment. Let's not forget that they went bankrupt and SEVENTEEN Project debut was their bestest decision to rise from falling. And it was a long term credit. Also, Pledis didn't give up on other artists, they became honest and needed to survive that's why they left. Stop with the blaming... Pledis is such a good company. Seventeen is my biggest stan and I respect Nuest in line.

I've seen all Pledis artists debut since 2012 (Nu'est to now), and when i got into kpop (arround 2011) i fell so hard for After School and Orange Caramel♥
I'm so proud of being with them since the very begining (Nu'est, Hello Venus, Raina and Lizzy's solo debuts, SVTN, my adored Pledis Girls that finally debuted as PRISTIN♥).
I feel like a proud mom, watching my precious children gaining attention after P101 both seasons.
I don't know what would happen with my Nu'est without P101, i was so afraid and sorry that just me purchasing the albums wouldn't save them from disbanding, but now they are up high♥
And for all the love PRISTIN recived because of -Pinky- KyulKyung and -stone- NaYoung debuting on I.O.I, i'm so thankfull.

HelloVenus was always a Fantagio group, they entered into a two year contract with Pledis who supplied two of it's trainees under a joint management group called Tricell Media, Fantagio was to be responsible for getting acting roles etc for the girls and Pledis was responsible for the training, music and concepts as well as music promotions, they didn't renew their partnership and the girls went back to their respective agencies.
