Rain and the cinch

Rain came to Lori defensive about the cinch. We are working to re-routing her cinching up experience so it’s positive, to re-wire her brain by accessing dopamine and serotonin in place of cortisol. Sometimes you have to amp things up to get the cortisol going in order to replace it with dopamine. The best learning happens when a horse is stressed without being overwhelmed, and then is given time to process that experience, wash out the cortisol, and excrete dopamine.
