    Guys, he's trying to get the mare to notice him, you can tell by his behaviour. He isn't lonely, he's just flirting

    This is Sir Spattson. He is by Spatts and out of Mi Starrs a BaskStarr daughter. He’s not alone and he is loved very much. He is still alive and living a great life! I know because I’ve known his owner many years and I also bred his sire Spatts and Spatts dam Hosannah Halima. I think he is 29 now and still beautiful.

    Lots of comments are about how this stallion is alone and that it’s not good for a horse to be in solitude. While this is true in some cases, this may have been a breeding stallion, or a stallion used only in breeding. It looks like the owners were testing if the mare was ready to breed or were getting ready to breed her with the stallion. For non-horsey people, stallions are usually kept separate from other mares or stallions, as the new stallion could cause injury to his new herd mates. During breeding season, if there are two stallions in the same herd, they will fight for breeding rights in the wild. It’s no different in captivity. We do not know the case of this horse, and so we don’t know why he was kept separate from the rest of the bunch. Please look into detail and do some research before commenting about how “lonely” the horse looks. The owners seem to know what they’re doing, and I’m sure they have their reasons for keeping this stallion away from the herd.

      The owner know exactly what they are doing with this or any stallion. For instance the corral high enough to discourage him from jumping out or getting hurt.. If you only know about city stuff. Stay there.

  • @karenlacey4549

    Well they are introducing them prior to mating. Horses are like crocs they flirt, chase each other play if they like each other.
    If the mare does not like a stallion she will fight, bite and run away, it is much better to introduce a mare and stallion before breeding the stallion to leave them alone. Other mares are like" That it is enough I am out of here.............................. I am not breeding to that stallion!" and just run and run and bite and kick until they stop trying to breed the mare to avoid injuries to either horse. Few owners will breed a mare against her will.

      @ktgodwin100 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PamelaAmberson Do you have his sire? The only way I know about sun bleached black is that, don't laugh, I have a quarter horse molly mule which is a mare mule and she's black and she will bleach out to where she's got red tinges in her hair and that's why I thought he was either a black Bay or sun bleached.
      By the way one of the few combinations of mules that is not recommended are Arabian mules. Don't ask me why but it's just not a good breeding combination because of the personality that comes out from the Arab into the mule. Also Saddlebred mules are not recommended because of the Arab blood in the Saddlebred and I knew someone who had a Saddlebred mule that was absolutely nuts so she couldn't even ride it so she would show it at the mule shows and have her trainer ride it because she was so afraid of this mule and nobody in my mule club liked this mule she was crazy.

    I am not a horse expert. Even a quick look at this video shows more than a few horses. The stallion is being “shown” this mare to see if mating would be possible. To have another stallion in there might be dangerous - these are expensive animals. I’m not sure if this “meeting” is to see if the mare is ready to accept the stud - I don’t know. But the stallion is revved up not unhappy. These folks seem to know what they’re doing.

    He's a beautiful boy... but put another stallion or gelding with him give him company... horses hate being separated from others
    If you're worried for fighting, they'd fight for who's the highest in the leading order.. there should be no serious injuries, l introduced multiple stallions to one another in the beginning they might act out and fight a bit but they come along great.

    This stallion looks healthy but is ageing, which may be why they are using him as a "teaser " for checking the receptiveness of brood mares instead of the stallion that actually covers the mare. This is frustrating for a stallion who obviously used to cover mares in the past. Its also very risky to have him in such a ramshackle insecure paddock , even worse - one that is beside the covering barn, a further torment for him. Fatal accidents happen that way.
    Normally a teaser is a stallion pony which never covers mared and is deployed in a chute or a more confined and padded space away from the covering barn. These people are irresponsible and unkind.

      Sena is somewhat right, but another thing to keep in mind is the what actually could be going on. Just because he's separated in this video or in many videos, doesn't mean he's Alone all the time. We just don't know the whole story, which will always be the case when it comes to a online video. Also, most Stallions can act out more when other horses are around depending on how they are handled. Just wanted to say that, have a wonderful day or night.

    • @dnr2089
      @dnr2089 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes this is normal behaviour. He is excited because there are mares around who are in heat. They are introducing the mares to him to see who is ready. He is in that enclosure for that purpose, and as you saw, for safety reasons. Horses will often kick out forwards when they are excited with each other.

    Welp, I hope they will allow them to marry and have a baby. She looks a little scared of him, though.

    I hate it when people keep stallions alone. You can feel his frustration.

      Eva Cadriel Stallions can't be in heat you dummy xD He wants to mate though. He looks like he's trying to impress those mares

      He's not in heat but that mare probably is and all he can think about is getting his D in her P and makin' a baby 😂 stallions are crazy when there's a mare in heat close by.

      He’s not in heat because He is a He! This is typical stallion behaviour whenever they detect the smell of a mare in season. They are introducing mares to him to see which ones are ready to mate. He’s excited!

      Bay! A nice dark bay. Brown horses don't have the black mane, tail, and legs that this handsome boy has. Either that or a sun faded black.
