Great tutorial-thanks for posting. The Canadian Electrolux AP100 (for 'all plastic') tank vacuum cleaner was produced from 1973 to 1976 with the non-automatic AP. The earlier ones were sold with the PN-V power nozzle & telescopic wand & later ones like yours came with the PN-100 & non-telescopic wand. The B22 triple brush floor & rug conditioner completed the line. Btw, a tank (or cylinder) vac's motor is mounted sideways while a canister vac's is up & down.

Did you try the bag lock out switch??
That carbon brush is toast. I’d replace it if you keep these vacuums
