FNaF used to be this special game that was unique and had a decent story. Now it just feels like the ringleader for the worse parts of indie game development and just doesn't have the same spark as it used to. Maybe I'm just some dumb crank that pulls the "back in my day" crap, but it genuinely felt more cohesice back in the day.
This video is very well put together. It keeps points brief enough and doesn't linger on any longer than it needs to. Everything is explained decently enough. Don't mind people who can't handle different opinions. Everyone is entitled to their own.

Even as someone who was sold on the idea of the mimic I believe that you are completely right in that he was introduced poorly. I hear a lot of people talk about how the new lore is “confusing” when if anything it’s become way more obvious than in the og games. It’s just very poorly put together. Very nice video but you have made so many enemies out of so many children who will blindly defend these newer games. Then again I’m sure that doesn’t matter to you. It really shouldn’t after all.

well i can understand your point, but my opinion is that the first games, the first timeline is more enjoyable than the current one, we got from dead kids in animatronics to AI and friendly animatronics who help you, i still like it but not the same, its just not the same feeling, maybe if Scott did what he promised, not a lot of people know that he said on a steam post that he will make a game about how everything started (that was BEFORE fnaf vr even released) and the game name was fnaf into madness where he planned to show us how and why everything started, yea well here we are with two random kids named Gregory and Cassie who we dont have any background of them yet the first 6 games were special, after that slowly it went down, the new games are still enjoyable, but its just not the same really

I remember when fnaf was about dead kids getting revenge on their killer and the bite of 87 or 83, to it just being about viruses, bugs and it all basically being like a digital world. The community used to be so awesome, and now it's probably just seen as the fandom who likes to start controversy. It was better when scott was in power. when he was making the games. Help wanted in my opinion wasn't a bad game, but had by far the worst story, making everything before just games and basically the old story doesn't mean anything. I have more hope for banban than I do fnaf. By the way great video.

I agree with you, what was once my favorite game franchise, has now become a game that I don't like to talk about. I am pretty young so maybe Ime just growing up from the franchise. But I still think that fnaf as a whole has been in a decline. Even though I wouldn't consider myself a fnaf fan anymore. I still have great memories with it, and I hope somehow it goes back to it's glory

I love FNAF but the problem with it is that it has no interesting lore anymore and now it is just kinda just some random game with no lore or anything special anymore and I hate those people in the comment section that keep hating on this dude's opinion.

To be honest, I feel like the story got too big, Five Nights at Freddy's worked best as a small pizza chain with a disturbing backstory that was more like a small-town rumor, that maybe began to get some bigger media attention, hell I think that Help Wanted did a good job with the story, of Fazbear's entertainment getting more traction due to its incidents and trying to cover it up (Although it leads to the absolute shit show that became Security Breach-) me personally, I believe that Freddy's worked better as a smaller location with lesser games, now the timeline and lore just feels like someone just randomly decided to throw this and that into the mix, the lore doesn't even make sense anymore and not in a good way like back in the older games up to UCN where it just had more of a mysterious tone to it, now it just feels like nothing makes sense anymore because some 5 year old pieced the rest together, anyway just wanted to say great video! Keep up the good stuff!
I may be new to the franchise, but when I compare the old games to the new ones, especially “Freddy betrays Markiplier” and “Markiplier laughs at Monty”, both in SB and SB: R, I just feel like Steelwool has Stolewool something from us. I mean, I can tell they like the franchise, but… They literally killed Afton so many times they have to put previously non-canon characters into the games from the books. I wish I was around back then when the games were cohesive, understandable and just… Good.
im a year late but yes, i agree, and it is in that point that im not really hyped about any fnaf releases anymore, have a bad feeling for the seceret of the mimic, because of what was with security breach last time, i just wished they could have made fnaf more horror like, for me the best eras were the first 4 games, i love fnaf's 4 horror, and i miss how i felt playing fnaf 1 for the first time, we all can just remember it by nostelgia and by our memories, i still wish this franchise the best, and is greatful for what it did to me since i was 9 years old, but at this point the games im interested that related to fnaf are the joy of creation and popgoes evergreen, which do their job great, and are actually feel like fnaf games more than the recent official ones that were released from the last few years

You do have a good point to an extent but you say you haven't read all of the pizza complex stories and you have a decent reason as to why you're not. But the mimic has previously been introduced into the franchise via the pizzaplex stories
I am aware the Mimic was first in the Tales stories, but I think that plays into why I think it was poorly planned out. It gave readers an early look into a character that was designed to retcon Aftons return, leaving Ruin to find some way to bring it into the story. I think the Mimic is awesome in concept but botched in execution
