I used this treatment too. I have 4c very kinky hair. I used with my Carol's Daughter Tui Hair Smoothie. So, it was deep conditioner/protein treatment. I LOVED THE RESULTS. Breakage greatly reduced! Yeah Green Beauty Channel is Awesome because it's not demos. It's SCIENCE to back up the products, methods that they demonstrate. But, thanks for the video co-signing hers.

I purchased the hydrolyzed wheat protein & finally gave it a try on myself over the weekend. My hair was worn out from a box dye gone wrong & with it being so fine, it seems like it's never recovered from that or a blowout I did in September. So I mixed the protein with my Curl Rehab DT, left it in with my Hair Therapy Wrap for 20 min then without for another 25. I rinsed, & my hair felt so soft & so much stronger! My curl definition improved along with elasticity, & my dyed sections looked brighter. I'll definitely be doing it again before I straighten my hair in April. I love her channel, too! So much great info!

I used this treatment for the first time, and really loved it! I have color treated hair, which can be pretty drying. After applying this treatment, my hair feels and looks healthier. It is very soft, moisturized, defined, and has a nice sheen. The only thing that I did differently was instead of using a dryer/plastic cap for heat to bond the product, I sat under my steamer for a steam treatment without anything covering my hair. I tried this product as a result of watching your video, so thank you for sharing!

Your hair looks amazing, I love watching your videos. I'm one of the Green Beauty Holiday Winners. I've been using all of her products and I love them. The protein treatment has been wonderful for my hair. Adding a hydrolyzed protein to my conditioner is the only way I'll do my protein treatments now.

I just went natural its been about 5months, I transitioned and did a chop and my hair is about 3/4inches and I am loving it! you are so beautiful and inspiring. your videos are really encouraging too. However I must say I am loving the other woman's short kinky curly hair. my texture seems to be afro so I guess I will not be able to style my hair that way lool.
Thanks for all your support to the natural sisters! much love x

When doing protein treatments, hydrolyzed wheat protein is all I used; it restores my hair's elasticity, coil definition, and strength. But, with low porosity hair, I do protein treatments when needed/twice per year. Thanks for sharing. I love & learn so much from both the Natural Sista's & the Green Beauty Channels.

  • @odeanlawrence196

I have been a fan of Green Beauty for many years and have followed some of her regimes, especially her Clay mask recipe. I tried her protein treatment, but didn't use it correctly, so had a bad outcome, but now I am older and wiser, i'm going to try it again...THE RIGHT WAY, and I have every confidence it will be amazing. I can't honestly say that I'm protein-sensitive at this point; as I haven't treated my hair with it enough to make that conclusion, so I'm going to give it a genuine go for at least 3 months (once each month) This is the recommended time one should give a product or a medication to do it's thing. If I remember, I will return to my comment to give an update on my results. I am a 4C hair type.

Your hair is Gorgeous! I purchase my Wheat Protein from Amazon. The only thing is I had to follow with another DEEP conditioning because it made my hair extremely dry. But it did work. My hair is stronger and less breakage. I going to try the wheat protein in your video. I've been transitioning my hair for five months and it has not been an easy road. Trying to get to the one year mark. Pray for me. Lol!

Yes love her! I decided to use pure hydrolyzed protein on her recommendation. Though I couldn't afford that 8oz bottle for $20 (I found mine on ebay) the treatment worked great. It reduced my shedding and my hair felt moisturized for a longer than normal period so its definitely a staple now.

This remind me of the Aphogee Two Step protein treatment which is also $20 and a brown liquid. You just don't mix it with conditioner, you follow up with their balancing conditioner (the must do second step hints Two Step). And you sit under the dryer but without a plastic cap. Does wonders on my natural 4c color treated hair. I'll have to try this one you used too.

Ok so I tried the DIY whipped coconut oil. I had all the ingredients, but it was an epic fail for me! I was so disappointed. I think my coconut oil was already semi soft to begin with because of the heat. I probably could have just manually stirred the ingredients. I was so excited, but oh well. It just looked like soup. So I just put it in a spray bottle and called it a day.

Interestingly I use ecostyler like aphogee 2 step. I slick my hair back with the ecostyler lightly after a wash and leave it in for two days then prepoo with coconut oil then rinse with vinegar followed by vo5. Hydrolyzed wheat protein is the second ingredient in ecostyler. My hair stops breaking and shedding decreases greatly. I'm 5 months post relaxer. I'm 4abc.
