milia sucks. i struggled with it throughout my 20s until i found electrocautery procedure. it’s true that retinol does help! just be veeery patient with it. great insight as always! ❤️
@sakshisingh2932 There is no cure. She has several shorts and a couple long videos on rosacea. Search youtube with her name and rosacea. You'll find everything you need, including the way to help with face dandruff which often comes with rosacea. I currently use ivermectin, but it burns so badly, I made an appointment for the specific laser she talked about that helps. I don't remember what it's called but is in a couple vids and shorts she's made on rosacea
@@vkarat i don’t live in the states so idk what counts as prescription retinol. i used any serum with retinol as main ingredient over the years. just basic serum skincare, never eye creams tho! also make sure your hands are washed clean before applying skincare
I've had two milias "pop" on their own after using Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant. It takes time, but it was satisfying when they do go away. It was this lovely dermatologist that suggested the product in another video. Thanks doc!
I removed mine by using a needle parallel to the skin to create an opening and I was gentle enough not to hurt nor scar myself. Apparently, smokers are more prone to get them.
You can buy a box of tiny, one time use sterile needles for this for a few bucks! The actual length is about 1/4” (maybe less?), and it’s in a plastic housing and you just twist the top off to expose the point.
@@vijayagupta no, just the face. The hands might be either warts (do not touch them or it will spread) or, if it's many and very itchy, dyshidrotic eczema. Both are treated with topical creams.
I wish I knew that in my 20s! Was very close to scarring myself for good. Knowledge is key! Thank you Dr. Idriss for educating a younger audience. Your input is immense, you realise that?
I had a massive one on my finger. It was itching. I used a thick needle to scratch it. It felt so good 😌 When it started to hurt I stoped. Dead skin came out in the process. It was a little gross. But it healed beautifully afterwards. I'm glad 🙏
You have to clean it, poke the end with a clean needle, ( to irritate it), the next day it will be red yet it will become able to pop out like a pearl. I have done it over 6 times without issues.
What if the milia is under eye? How can you use exfoliation there? Isn't the skin too gentle? Or maybe that's OK to use? Does salisylic acid serum help with that? Is that OK to apply under eye?
I’m sure if you’re gentle you’ll be okay, but there are products out there that are designed for the eye area! The Inkey List has a retinol eye cream I’ve found super helpful for reducing my milia without adding any extra friction to that delicate skin area. I think Peace Out does a retinol eye product in a stick form too. And there are probably ones with different chemical exfoliants in them if retinol isn’t your thing.
I had 0 patience. I stuck them with a lancet and used a pimple popper tool, the one with the loop. Of course, i would not recommend this. But i was supremely careful and only opened the skin the smallest amount so it would heal without scars.
Hello there. Sharing in response to your question: I saw a video where someone with fungal acne tried head and shoulders shampoo on it and they said it worked. May be worth a try. I hope your acne clears up 💕
Popped a milia once like I’ve done times before, but I was left with an inflamed hole on the top of my cheek that wouldn’t go away and it was literally a swollen dip in my face.
Any advice for a leftover (so post home-extraction: tiny incisions have beautifully healed within a few short days with no further scarring & milia clusters are gone & are still treated with preventative Retinoid), soft skin (texture), pink bump inside of what used to be a milia? It only removed squiggly content & not really much else (was difficult), so I chose to treat it topically instead. Everything was sanitized with rubbing alcohol (surprisingly dries like calamine lotion would), cleansed, and further on treated with Differin’s Adapalene Gel 0.1%. It’s reduced so has become smaller, the surrounding skin of what used to be a milia is now flat (gone), and it’s just this centered pink smaller bump in there. I’m thinking of using Differin Adapalene Gel 0.1% but it’s appreciated for any advice if anything, thank you!
The link to the shop doesn't let me read the subtitles. I rely on that as English is not my first language, and to me, you speak fast. Please could the link be moved elsewhere? Thanks 🎉
No. You always stay on the bone. She shows in her longer videos about retinol how and where to apply it. Under the eye area. Exfoliating acid, tho I can't tell for sure but stay on the bone until you know better.
My baby was born with a lot of milia on her nose, it all disappeared after a month. But she still gets random ones after a year on her face or on the body and they don't disappear that quickly now. :(
I’d love to know the answer bc I had one in the exact same area. It did go away, YEARS later. lol! But, a new one appeared in a differ spot on my eye. Really don’t want to wait many years again! I no longer care ab the ones on my forehead. When they’re on your eye, applying eye makeup is obv so difficult & annoying. Plus, it can be irritating at times (for me)😒
After desperately researching about my acne breakout when ever i get expose to sun, even just a minute or 2 i get acne all over my face. I recently found out it could be acne aestivalis. Can u recommend something to heal my skin been 3 years and tried everything and damaging more. Changed my dermatologist twice in 3 years cause their prescription does not work on me.
I use to have some of tem and i grab an Needle and pop them with the needle, yeah if works lol, but i have a big one under my eye and yeah i cannot do that
Believe it or not i got rid of it in one night.. two years ago one appeared under my eye i didn't know what it was actually so i waited hopping it will go away but yeah like that's gonna happen 😏...i did some research how to get rid of it but unfortunately i couldn't do anything because it needs products aren't in my country and there's no way i can get them in my country.. anyway my sister have an old arabian medical book so i stole it..i mean i borrowed it (till now😂) i just mixed 6 drops of glycerine+2 drop lemon juice+ 1 drop water..i applied it under my eye and before i slept i put some on a piece ot tissue put it on the milia the next morning there was nothing it was like magic so i told my friend she tried it but didn't get the same result as me so she kept trying and she got rid of most of them Glycerine is good for hydration but when it's in high concentration it can absorb the liquid of other things and that's why it works
Unrelated question, is there a way to prevent skin tags, I know dermatologists can remove them, but can you prevent them especially in areas like armpits, back of neck and under boobs 🫠

Thank you Dr.Idriss, for addressing the distinction and treatment of milia. 🤓💜
Thank you for finally telling me what these are. My dermatologist just said “don’t worry about those,” but never explained to me what they were.
That’s when you ask them what they are. You deserve an answer.

Use a qtip. It works
Try mandelic acid. It’s really gentle and completely cleared the milia on my eyelid. I use the ordinary one.

Hi. Can you advise what is the safest way or home remedy to get rid of milia seeds ard the eyes? Thk you.
Milia - the bane of my existence.
I get a sterile needle like the ones for glucose testing, poke it lightly and push it btwn 2 qtips and they come out super ez
I put retinol on mine, and it came to the surface of my skin, and i was able to pop it without hardly trying 🤷♀️ no scaring.
That over eyers was intense 😂
Yeah I got milia, started during covid pandemic.
Hey doctor, I wanted to know if you could recommend me some products about fungal acne! Would kate somerville eradikate cleanser be good!! ❤❤

I have one in the inner corner of my eye. Is it safe to get it removed?
I get extremely dry around my eyes, and it sometimes flares up to eczema; but if I use creams that are too rich, I get milia! What’s the happy medium?
I'm in love with your smile ❤
Please ma'am what are the white bumps people get on their eyelids near their lashes that they can't get rid of?

Triple paste and the lice cream.....you recommended for?
Turned 65 several months ago and started having milia and skin tags all of a sudden. My dermatologist took care of it.
I have milia since my late teenage genetically doommmmm😢 , thanks for the advice
Where do you practice?
Is it safe to put exfoliating acids or retinol on milia that are right on the lower lash line? I'm a huge fan of yours, thank you!! ❤️
I do.

Under the eye area.

retinol helps but what can i do about the ones on my eyelids & waterline 😭
All these solutions sounds a bit hazardous considering they are on my eyelid.

I'm pretty sure my three year old has these on her cheek. I don't want to use any of these facial acids on her since she's so young.

Wow that’s nice!
What to do if a child has them?
My partner has these all over his eyes and for some reaosn I think they’re cute 💀. I didn’t know wtf they are till now so that’s cool.
haha i had them popped by a cosmetician now i look a life lived 😅

I get them removed by glycolic acid the ordainary 😊
I popped one by myself, NEVER again, I had to press so hard that I accidentally rubbed the skin of in the surrounding area😢 big scab on my cheek now😅😢
