if you watched the games this year, the product has actually been really exceptional this year. Even the bad teams are playing really well and exceptionally hard, there have been surprises at the top, we have a team having the best start since the 16’ warriors. Tune in to a couple games, you’ll really enjoy it.

The play in tournament I get now, but this “NBA cup” tournament is just useless. It is not needed at all if a team wins this trophy and more money at the end.

Agreed. I never liked 16 teams making the playoffs. But the nature of the game is that we pretty much know who will win the Finals before each season begins.
In the last 6 seasons, there have been 6 different NBA champions, so there is parity in the league now.
@ fair and good point point. But the 3/6 times the number one seed has won the Finals. The other three times the 2 or 3 seed has won. There have been outliers to reach the Finals.

The NBA Cup is completely bogus!!! It makes absolutely no sense and the reason for it is utterly ridiculous. Imagine paying athletes millions of dollars to play a sport, a game played by teenagers, even preteens, and then being forced to incentivize those athletes to actually play the very games that they already get millions of dollars to play. So stupid.

Back in my day, NBA basketball was great in and of itself simply because it was the NBA. In season tournaments and 16 teams in the playoffs is corny af. Precisely why comparing eras is pointless. I agree, make it harder to get in the playoffs and the quality will return.
