Technically the mechs show up in all routes, they just don't get explained when you fight Cornelia. It makes me think she's really Bias (the one you need to kill to stop the mechs from spawning)

I Have seen "ancient future" technology and themes in medival fantasy settings before, but none of them quite as drastic, or frankly badass, as this.
Stella Glow has an interesting version of it, you should give it a try, the game really punches you in the gut midway as shit hits the fan.
Also helps that this is the first time Fire Emblem has used the trope.
And unexplained. I was super hoping that the dlc story was going to actually explain what was going on down there

After how badass Shambala's map design was, I really want a futuristic styled FE game now. Because a Sci-Fi fantasy RPG would be kind of rad and shake up the formula of FE more than this one map did XD.
Advance Wars: Days of Ruin is the closest thing you'll get lol I actually think Intelligent System took inspiration from that game for this. Those Who Slither in the Dark are veeeeery similar to the IDS faction in that game, as far as being a "secret group with super-advanced technology manipulating everyone into war"

According to an interview, Sothis looks like a child because she forgot what her original form was, and the shortstack we see her as ingame was her closest guess. In actuality, her original form is the green haired woman on the Saints/Goddess Mural.
Sothis is 4'5" according to the game data. I would take that with a grain of salt however, because her age is listed as 9. The devs have stated (again in an interview) that she descended upon Fodlan at least 10,000 years ago.
Sothis' voice actress, Cassandra Lee Morris, also voiced Morgana from Persona 5. Morris therefore both opened and closed the Smash Bros Fighters' Pass. Talk about also being called 'The Beginning'.

The game misleads us in believing Rhea and the Church are evil at first, and imperial fanatics willfully go on feeding this delusion.
@@ilaly6391 It was 10 months ago I made that comment and unfortunately the Cindered Shadows DLC does provide evidence that Rhea is indeed trying to retard Fódlan's technological progress thanks to some books in the Abyss Library.

This map was a trip man. Love the remix. Displays the strangeness of the dubstep in FE, yet how fitting it is for the inhuman 'Those who Slither in the Dark'. Great job, but I always love your work, so it's no surprise. ♡

The reason Chilon has no lines is because he's the one in charge of DJing the music in Shambhala, he's too busy providing you with fresh beats to spend any time dealing with you.
That beat dropped harder than Rhea in Silver Snow's ending.

Before the timeskip he had no weapon in his art because he's the only one who doesn't want to start a war but now, the three lords have to fight for what they believe in

What I wanted to say is that Claude is the only one who doesn't want to conquer Fodlan by war or to kill Edelgard. The two others are violent after the timeskip but he's not. He just wanted to save Fodlan and to change their mentality about crests and others countries
but he had to fight because of Edelgard's ambition and Dimitri's obsession.

If you're still feeling on the Three Houses creative kick I would love to hear your takes on 'The Apex of the World' or even by far contrast 'Life at Garreg Mach Monestary' at some point~

This was a fun map in Silver Snow.
(And Verdant Wind, but I haven't played that route yet. I could go on a tangent about how it copied Silver Snow and not the other way around, but I've already done that enough on Amino.)
It's truly unfortunate they aren't as different as they could be. Their only significant difference being rather... confusing.

@@codename618 Yup. About the same amount of time passes in both timelines and more or less the same events yet for unclear reasons beyond "let's have a different boss but also not"... it's different. Very silly that Nemesus does not revive in SS and Rhea doesn't go "mad" in VW, despite the lore dump in VW, I would assume being far more traumatic than what she says in SS. Imo I would have preferred a church route ending where Byleth transformed (I thought that would happen eventually) and you had to defeat them. That would prevent you from marrying but also be pretty heartwrenching ina good way, if they did it right.
Gosh I wish they could rework and add more to the game.

I must disagree.
Blue Lions has the most standard Fire Emblem experience (and a fair share of great story moments and cutscenes, unlike Golden Deer and, sadly, Black Eagles so far, haven't finished their story yet though) so if you really end up liking the game and go for a second playthrough, hearing this track will come as a surprise.
Even though it does apparently play at some point in the Blue Lions story? Because somehow I had it unlocked.
I think every route is good except for Silver Snow but it has this level as well.
