Yeah. A lot of prepping the wood and then the stain, three coats of shellac, dealing with crappy warped lumber and making a couple of design changes in the middle of it all. I was guessing at the total time as I worked about three days a week for maybe 3-4 hours a day for a little over 3 1/2 weeks.
Looking good Bob! I didn't even know you could still get shellac. Turned out nice! Maybe you mentioned it and it got past me, but I was just curious why you did shellac on the sides but stain+varnish on the top?

I may not have been clear on that. I used clear shellac on the top to preserve the color, and amber shellac on the rest.
