nice to see more of Iloilo, since I'm planning on moving there later this year from Texas. I like the infrastructure, actual less traffic than Cebu or Manilla, cleanliness, and the walking areas. I'm not planning on driving there, I'll rely on local transportation. I like seeing the S & R store, which is probably where I'll do my shopping. I'm gonna try living in a condo for a while and see how it fits.
MR. JAMES NICHOLS, Aside from the S&R, There are other really well stocked complete supermarkets like the ATRIUM ILOILO SUPERMARKET L. Before the modern supermarket reached Boracay islands, most of the Boracay chefs shopped for grocery and fresh produce at the ILOILO SUPERMARKETs or at SM Supermarkets. Both Iloilo Supermarket and Atrium Iloilo Supermarket have well stocked supermarkets all over Iloilo City and Metro Ilollo.
Hey Kevin, enjoy the video and that beautiful view off the mountains, I’m over due to get back to New Orleans, one my favorite places to visit have a good evening.
Always love your videos my friend.. they are fun and they are informative.. if you have time show us a rental or two before you leave.. show us some cheap rentals that a poor man like me from Southern Louisiana can afford my friend..😮👍👍🐊😎🍺🍻🐊🐊👙😁🥂🇺🇸
Awesome video! Man few days to go and already Ber months where people has a joyous and festive mood because of the longest Christmas celebrations. All malls will be decorated with Christmas d3cors.
Did you finish the beer? Did ya find beans there at S&R. Pinto beans cooked down with pork with steak. Heaven. Keep your head up Bro. We're still in your corner.
Thanks John! Yes, I did finish the beer and if I had been by myself 🤔 I probably would’ve ordered another one. I still have 4 cases of Bush pinto beans that I sent over in balikbayan boxes😂
Hey Timmy nice too see you . I seen a neighborhood named Westwood. It looks like a nice livable place just outside of the city. Do you have any information you can share about that area? Thanks ! Enjoy 😊
Glad to see you back too Jerry😉. I have not heard of Westwood, but I will see where it is on the map. I have an easy day tomorrow. Maybe I can swing by
@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 The only other they had there was an ADV 160@1K per day. I went the cheap route, but agree the NMAX or ADV would be a better ride for sure. These roads here in Iloilo are more wide and accommodating than any I've seen in the dozen or so cities I've visited in the last 3 months. Of course there are narrow side streets, but the main drags are nice. Thinking this will be the city I long term rent. Good luck and safe travels.
@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 Hi Kevin, the island of Guimares is 10 min ferry from Iloilo. White beaches & major tourist area. We are thinking to go there.
I was there yesterday. You should stay overnight because of the returning ferry schedule. It took us 3 ferries before we were able to get on one(we have a scooter)
When S&R first opened you had to have a business to get a membership card. Everything was so much cheaper. Now it is open to the general public prices have increased. Don't shop there any more.
The Deutsche Rindergulasch is a beef dish. The beef is from the shoulder, cut into chunks, added to that is diced bacon, peppers, garlic, paprika and it´s normally served with mashed potatoes or bread dumplings. That beer [bier mass] costs $15 at the Oktoberfest [in Munich] so you ´ve done well paying only $4.90 for it. Hope you enjoyed it.
If this S&R supermarket is the best high quality you can get, that makes me comfortable to shop there. The price is cheaper than the worst quality of meat you can buy in a Supermarket in Seychelles.
Thats the IMOY FALLS LEON, ILOILO, about one hour away from Iloilo City. And I find the IMOY FALLS better than the CASARORO FALLS in Valencia in Dumaguete, In Casatoro, you need to go down a flight of iron stairs in order to reach the trickle down below. And when tou reach the sandy pebbly ground , you'll find it dirty. Not worth it this Casaroro. I'd rather be here at rhe IMOY FALLS in LEON , ILOILO. It is at level with the river and you don't need to go deep down. The waterfalls is just twelve feet down from ground level on a trail with wild pointsettia blooms.
Next time I come back it will be on my bike. I will definitely look into that. Another viewer told me about a supposedly better place in Bacolod. That would be even better because it would cut out the Iloilo-Bacolod ferry time
@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 Thanks… I land in Cebu from Michigan September 4th and I will stay a month so I will check out Bacolod and go to Landers as well as S&R….my girlfriend’s daughter will have her 1st birthday on the 17th so I want to buy some American food. I'm still more "island oriented" as opposed top being back in a city, but can always go there for supplies. The Bavaria place was impressive with the food AND the beer. Some don't but it's only because after covid many people stopped caring about doing their jobs. The only guilty pleasure I have is jalapeno sliders and the last time I went the young guy working the window basic threw the bag at me. Customer service has definitely suffered but I guess that can also be a good thing once and awhile. Probably not in the long run. Hope you are enjoying Iloilo this second time around. How long will you be in town?
