    It has been my experience with the Vias Camo pattern that the lighter tans in the pattern take on the greenish hues in the surrounding vegetation. I use it year round and blend in very well whether it be early or late season here in the Northeast. Because of this I feel it is a more versatile pattern than the Verde. The new Valo does intrigue me however....

    As a whitetail hunter the new Valo pattern will be a great option for hunting from the ground in late October/early November around the Midwest. Not sure if I would consider the Valo pattern for hunting from a tree stand though (Needs more white). I still believe Sitka's Elevated II pattern takes the cake when it comes to this type of situation. None the less, a great option for hunters to add to their camo repertoire.

      It will depend a lot on your local trees, of course--the tree stand photos that you see in this video and at www.kuiu.com/valocamo were taken in Ohio. We'll be interested to see which regions have the most success with this in each season and hunting style.

      @@kuiuultralight I guess I would have liked to see a picture from the animals perspective (on the ground) looking up at the hunter in the tree stand. Hence my comment about adding more white. Couldn't agree more that It will be interesting to see where this Camo pattern will be most successful. Thanks for the reply btw, huge KUIU fan. Keep innovating. Favorite piece of clothing is the Super Down Pro garments. If Kuiu could find a way to add a fleece outer shell to the Super Down Pro (to make it quiet), you would separate yourself from the competition even more!

      It's a tough call for us to make, especially when nobody knows the environment you're hunting better than you do. If there was anything to think about, it would be: what kind of foliage do you find yourself in the most? If you're in and among low-to-the-ground evergreens a lot, then the Verde will be a good choice, especially when the environment is wet, which makes things darker and a bit more contrasty. But if you're mostly against the tree trunks, bark, and dead vegetation, Valo may be better for that.

    Central/West Texas Exotics year-round
    Thanks!

    • @kuiuultralight
      @kuiuultralight  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The first two seem like they would be Verde material; assuming your East TX hunts are mostly in evergreens? And green areas for your western bowhunting? Central/West TX seems more like Valo country--that's your grassland/desert/dry vegetation camo, for sure. Tough call to name one to cover all of it. Valo will work somewhat well in green conditions and very well in dry vegetation. Verde won't be very effective in dry vegetation, but will be great in contrasty green environments. You'll have to judge for yourself which region and season you'd assign the most weight to.

  • @willowsloughdx
    @willowsloughdx 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why the color camo? Deer and elk can see blue and yellow but can't tell the difference between gray, red and orange. You might as well wear safety orange camo so Mr. AR-15 doesn't bag you.

      Yep. I live in Florida where your hunting ground is a mix of mostly pines and oaks. Going from the ground to a stand alone can completely change the scene. You may find yourself walking among pines where the limbs start well up the tree and there's no other coverage to low limbs of an oak. But also in the south, the oaks haven't turned or dropped their leaves yet since hunting season is ending by the time actual winter is beginning. Not that color matters as much as pattern to the deer, but still....

The hunting season changes fast and we have a unique environment. You can be in evergreens and hardwoods at the same time and easily move from one environment to another if you have multiple stands. At these prices, buying 2 sets of camo...ehhhh. It would surely be popular if you can get one pattern/color scheme to work specifically for the SE regardless of the season.
