    This was recorded at the 2003 Parade of Orchestras held at the Pearl City Cultural Center on April 5, 2003.
    Took us a little over 6 years to get this up due to not having a device to import the old footage, after discovering someone we know who had an old hi8 tape.
    ***This is rare footage of the Moanalua High School Symphony Orchestra.
    Under the direction of Elden Seta, The Symphony Orchestra has the distinction of being the first student orchestra to ever be invited to grace the stage of New York's Carnegie Hall in 1998. The Orchestra did it a second time in 2005.
    This is the 2002-2003 Symphony Orchestra performing:
    Liebestraum (German for Dreams of Love) by Franz Liszt

    Is it comfortable playing while the conductor is conducting a different song?

    • @diegobuitragocamargo.7525

      This is not a professional orchestra, so the conductor has to make every beat with the baton so the students can follow him.

    Conductor is marking a 6/8 bar, which is how the piece is, unfortunately he is dragging the last beat so it ends a bit inconsistent, could try simplifying it onto marking a quarter with a dot.

      Although it looks like he is having a stroke, since this is a mid level orchestra he is using his baton to show every single beat

    • @timbredan3476
      @timbredan3476 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      his conducting is fine. Although they're advanced enough to not need the 3/4 beat in the middle part. He could've done a 1 beat there, but other than that I don't see anything alarming.

  • @nvcool1
    @nvcool1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    is it only me that thinks the conductor's a tad bit too much for the type of music it is and the dynamic markings it has? XD He's conducting like the whole piece is forte to fortissimo

    • @timbredan3476
      @timbredan3476 ปีที่แล้ว

      he is a bit "extra", imo. He could back off a bit and emphasize parts that need to be (enthusiastically even). Otherwise keep it simple.
