  • Please pray for me my friends. Beginning this Pentecost I will resume the public ministry of working on more traditional style youtube videos.
    I had taken time to pray/dicern and work extra jobs to be able to raise the quality and production value of my original work. Please, pray for me and know that I am praying for all of you. Until then may you enjoy some of the recent presentations that I offered in my home town. God bless you all!

    I really wish churches would bring back the altar rail. I think it is so beautiful to kneel while receiving Our Lord. This is kinda frowned upon in a regular communion line.

      +GabiAfterHours, what can I do if someone is doing witchcraft against me and my family? I am going to Mass and receiving The Body of Jesus every other day. My son however, has not had his first Communion yet.

    • @gabiafterhours
      @gabiafterhours  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Maria Silva Some might say what I am about to say is over board, but I will give you my frank and honest advice. Always remain in the state of Grace. Go to Confession frequently... 1/week or every two weeks... pray 4 rosaries a day... sprinkle holy water on your children every night before bed. I promise if you do these things every witch in the world can't touch you. I do a modified version of this (more), because I know that people try and put hexes on me... and to be honest I don't think twice about them. Be not afraid. God is more powerful than every devil. Be a Saint and be not afraid.

    It was God working through you and your videos that got me to kneel and receive communion on the tongue every single time. Now my parents do it as well, and I have seen a growing number of parishioners at my church receiving kneeling on the tongue since then. I once had a deacon pat me on the shoulder while I knelt to receive communion, so I think receiving this way, especially for young people like us, encourages priests and the clergy and shows them that we respect them as a representative of Christ, and are not worthy to touch Christ in the host ourselves. Thank you for all you do, it has such a huge impact.

      Jeff Jimenez it’s like going to party and not keeping plates, I’m sure many guests will return and many will have a great time. I used to feel foolish kneeling in some churches that didn’t have kneelers. Then I realized that those who removed the kneelers wanted people to feel silly and soon all reverence would be lost and the memory of what the Eucharist is would also be gone. I kneel down now knows that I am not doing anything wrong, kneelers are needed like plates are needed for dinner.

    I get distracted on my way into mass and forget to genuflect. And that really bothers me because I should have been doing so when I was a kid. But also when I was a kid the Tabernacle was in the chapel in the back. We now have a beautiful golden Tabernacle on the alter where our Lord should be.

    • @SmithsnMoz
      @SmithsnMoz 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +GabiAfterHours .. I attend the new mass as well. But in all honesty, ... Why did we need a "New Mass"?.. was the "Old mass" not good enough? .. I remember as a young boy back in the 1970s, how everyone at holy mass would kneel before receiving our lords body in the Holy Eucharist. I remember approaching the communion rail and seeing the priest with an alter boy making sure that any particle of Christ in the Holy Eucharist would not fall to the ground... There was much more reverence. . . But I do know what you mean, we should stand firm for Christ right where we are.. God bless!!

  • @m.935

    Why do priests drink AND eat both then? Why didn't Jesus told us to eat bread or wine, if it doesn't matter? Why did he differentiate His Blood from His Body? P.S. I believe with my heart what you just said, that Jesus is complete, flesh and blood in the Eucharist. I just have to have this mental argument in my pocket.

    • @gabiafterhours
      @gabiafterhours  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The two species show that this is a sacrifice. Death occurs when a person's body and blood are separated. This distinction emphasizes the sacrifice. ALSO... we must remember that the apostles to whom Jesus was speaking were the first priests. I hope that helps!

    Sir,
    Could you please answer my doubt regarding holy mass celebration
    What is The Catholic Church's opinion on 'layman celebrating holy mass by watching holy mass videos' ? Will that give the layman(viewer) the graces ? ( If the layman can't find or reach any churches physically )

    • @gabiafterhours
      @gabiafterhours  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is no substitute for attending Mass... that being said if one is truly incapable of attending the Lord is all knowing and merciful. You can still make a spiritual communion and there is still benefit in uniting yourself to the Mass on television... how much grace nobody knows.

    +GabiAfterHours ~ How would you answer someone asking that, "If the bread and wine are truly Christ's flesh and blood, how can anyone be allergic to either of them?"
    Because I have no idea how to respond to that.

    • @gabiafterhours
      @gabiafterhours  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Michelle Therese It is transubstantiation. It is a change it the substance and not in the form. The outward appearances/properties of bread and wine remain. The physical qualities... the look, the smell, the taste, composition all remain, but the substance changes. In fact when the qualities of the bread and wine cease to exist the real presence of Christ Whole and Entire also ceases to exist. So if their is a host that is dissolved in an ablution cup or particles that are trapped in the altar linens... they soak and when the particles completely dissolve and lose their physical properties the Lords presence no longer remains.
      The following example is a terrible example and I don't like to use it, but it works... So there is a movie "The Shaggy Dog". In that movie a man and a dog switch who they are... The physical properties of the dog and the man remain, but in the movie you have what looks like a man acting like a dog... and now what appears to be a dog is really a man.... I know that is a terrible example, but it is the best example I can give that might help your imagination. SO here is this dog... people might be allergic to the dog, but really although it looks like a dog and smells like a dog it is really the man there... AGAIN THIS IS A TERRIBLE EXAMPLE... and in no way replicates what happens at the most Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

    • @InTheWind_
      @InTheWind_ 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +GabiAfterHours Thank you for your explanation, Shaggy Dog and all. :-) I struggle a lot with the often complicated wording in the CCC and other writings! So I need to become familiar with the differences of "substance" and "form" ... I'm going to jot this all down in my journal. Ok, well all except the Shaggy Dog part ;-)
      When people ask me *why* Jesus gave us bread and wine instead of the form of flesh and blood I say He is merciful and doesn't want us to be disgusted and grossed out. I'm not sure how theological that explanation is but when I was first becoming Catholic it made sense as I sat there contemplating the "Circle Jesus" in "that clock thing" while participating in that mysterious "adoration" time at my then parish church.
      And it's what I tell our kids too, they are ages 7, and 6 (twins) but the first holy communion for their age group has been delayed a year so I get extra time to explain. "Because Jesus is kind and doesn't want to gross us out" seems to fly well with them too. :-)) God bless!
      PLEASE pray for Scotland, and up here where we are on the once Holy Islands, now pretty much Secular Islands of Orkney. Please pray that the Faith returns here, there is so much pain and darkness here. A lot of lost sheep and being Catholic is not in any way something people want to become due to the post-Reformation culture, VERY hostile. So it all seems hopeless.
      Yet GOD IS GOOD and my Orkney husband became Catholic last year!! I hope it's ok to be greedy for MORE SOULS!!! C'mon, God... 10 years here praying my head off and ONE person enters the Church? **Weep** The advice that more visits to Jesus results in more graces is depressing though: I am a disabled Veteran and can't drive to town (we are farmers) so daily Mass is out and Eucharist adoration is very very very rare for me. :-(

    Because we hold to the truth of the institution of the Eucharist biblically, shouldn’t we receive BOTH bread and wine at Mass as Jesus presented at the last supper? Not offering both seems to me contrary to scripture. Additionally, not carrying out the full prescript of the Last Supper yet taking John 6 literally seems hypocritical.

    At our church, other lay people administer communion. I was taught that the two fingers of the priest could pass out communion. What are your thoughts?

    "There is something very special about Catholics: We believe that Jesus really is in the Eucharist."
    That is not something specific to you. Aside from you - and the orthodox churches - we Lutherans DO believe that as well.
    And even traditional Calvinist churches to a certain degree. Only Zwinglian Churches and pseudo-calvinist ones, that are actually closer to Zwingli than to Calvin, don't.
    Real Presence =/= Transsubstantiation.
    Real Presence is confessed by a lot of protestant churches.
    That being said Luther never totally ruled out the possibility of transubstantiation, despite leaning towards Consubstantiation.
    Actually he went a similar rout as the orthodox churches, concerning the Eucharist: It is a mystery that we cannot fully understand. - As long as Christ really is present and as long as he comes to us "in, with and under the bread", Lutheranism doesn't care how exactly said coming works. It only is important that the sacrament DOES work.

      +jerome96114 One thing I would recommend you look into is where does your minister receive the authority to turn bread and wine into the body and blood of Christ. I don't want to start an argument, but really with an open mind and open heart explore what is true and be willing to leave everything.
      The Catholic priest receives his authority by the sacrament of Holy Orders which is conferred on him by a bishop who can trace his authority all the way back to Jesus and the Apostles. This is something that the thousand different denominations don't have. God bless you and I will pray for you. Be open to all of the possibilities. May your faith and life be rooted in objective truths.

    And hence, EXTRA ECCLESIAM NULLA SALUS. No Eucharist, NO ETERNAL LIFE.
