I have & use the Quill pens, they work great for me. As John mentioned it's just a little play to get settings right, I slow down the draw speed & slightly increase pressure. The other thing I do is place the quill into the holder to heat up, but I don't put the pen holder into the SnC Case until I'm ready to foil (I've heard the heat may cause damage that's not covered by warranty). The Quill pens for me work great for my needs & is a lot more cost efficient. Just remember you need to use Hot Foil with them. 😊
Thanks John, didn't know about the minc toner pen. I would be interested to know how well each option works, perhaps I should ask the question in the fb group?
I’ve tried the quickie glue pens which were somewhat successful and the foil quills which were better. My only problem was that when using the quills the card removed some of the tack from my mat when I took it off. The heat must have melted it.
Thanks John as informative as ever. I didn't know about the minc pens so that is good to know. I have everything else😀 xx
Glad it was informative. :)

Thanks for sharing your experiences with the foil quill, great tip on leaving the pen holder out of the machine while heating up.

By all means! :)
You could also cut shapes from double sided sticker paper (jac paper) and use the foil that sticks on those.
Great suggestion, thank you for sharing ❤️

It's possible that the pressure might have been too high. I've not come across this issue before.
@ thanks, I will reduce the pressure next time I foil.
