What a coincidence, I also hide my mini-gun in a box full of pinatas.
Minigun, twin-rocket rocket launchers, a grenade launcher, 6 swords, the swords being 2 katana, 2 claymore, a hand-and-half sword and a slightly longer wakizashi, around 5 sniper rifles, and an entire suit of body armor designed like a Star Wars Mandalorian armor(Boba and Jango Fett wore Mandalorian armor) that has sheaths, straps, and TONS of connection points, that has been custom-modified to have pistons and heavy-duty shock absorbers to handle all the weight behind it. Only I hide all that stuff under my bed, with tons of Lego: Bionicle figures all over them. I don't do Pinatas...

Blizzards short films especially these, Show alot of emotion that gets to you. That is why I agree, if they were to make an Overwatch film it would be at least par with Disney or Pixar.

What I really, really like about this animation is that although Soldier 76's face is almost entirely covered, the very subtle movements of his eyebrows still hint at his expression. It's most obvious when he's standing on the rooftop at the end, but you can also really see the difference between when he starts chasing after the thugs before they throw the grenade, and the last shot of him right before the grenade blows up.
yeah and when he starts to walk away right before its cuts away from his face his eyebrows show a hint of sadness and guilt as if he remembers and mourns the old times when he truly believed he was almost like he doesn't want to believe he is or that he cant

3:50 Looking at this part from a literature story telling point. Its important that in this part it shows that Soldier 76 is clouded in his ruthless vigilante. He beats up a enemy even tho he pleads him to stop. The truck comes in and guy throws a explosive which was intended for 76 but ends up bouncing over to Alejandra. 76 makes a split second decision he hesitates as he looks back at the girl and the enemy that's about to run away. Then he chooses to save Alejandra remembering that he was a hero and that he saved lives before. Its why he said "old habits die hard" because it was overwatch's leader it was a habit to save lives and protect the innocent to minimize damage.

Soldier 76 is a true hero. The world wanted him dead after all his hard work to save and protect them, hoped he WAS when he was thought to have died in the destruction of Overwatch HQ, but he still does his job, still protects humanity when they turned against him. THAT is the trait of a true hero.

Froggyman145 I think deep down he is still, but this is not for humanity anymore. I think soldier is more evil than reaper. Soldier is all about personal revenge and justice. His own justice. You can see how merciless he is with these gangsters. He is inhumanly ruthless when he fights them, and he almost let a little girl die just to get after them. Ok, he saved her but hesitated until the very last moment, as he said old habits die hard. Whereas reaper may commit crimes worse than soldier's, but he does it for a greater good (in his point of view) and is willing to sacrifice everything he has for it. Soldier did not sacrifice anything, he just had all he had taken from him and is seeking vengeance. If you compare soldier's behaviour in this cinematic to reaper's in the sombra cinematic you'll get what I'm talking about. Reaper lets a weaponless enemy run, and is only concerned about the success of the mission. Soldier gets an unarmed, crawling and begging opponent and beats his head to the ground.
I feel he Is more of a anti hero and dose what he feels Is right.

A Soldier trying to make his way into the world once Overwatch was separated & yet he was once called a hero but, not anymore. He is just a simple man helping out the innocent

Soldier 76 = Rogue Captain America mixed with the Dark Knight Rises. I freaking love it.
Yep. He's definitly a blend of Steve Rogers (he's an american made super soldier), Batman (because he apparently plays mind games with his prey, picking them off strategically in the shadows one by one until they are terrified enough to take them out all at once) and the Punisher (because guns and no problem with killing, obviously).
