The body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. May God forgive and repair what damage I have inflicted on that temple in my life.

I'm still a virgin. Never had sex in the body, but in my mind, I have. But, honestly, I am glad that I've never had sex before marriage. I'm not married, and am discerning the monastic life. Honestly, I pray to God that I continue being a virgin.

Thank you father. I am watching you from Greece. Excuse any mistakes on my English below.
It is so nice to see and hear talks on virginity. It is something that should be of importance to all. But, how can we understand the importance in our today world? Each time I think about it, I believe that not much has changed since the beginning. The only thing that today should be our utmost guide on this should be Virgin Mary.
And I believe, that this is our everyday fight, to reach that virginity, although we might not be anymore virgin in body, but we should not forget the virginity is needed on our soul, our spirit. Then, we could have the Holy Spirit entering our souls too.
I will also like to pass some words I heard from a priest in Thessaloniki, while talking about marriage and virginity. I liked when he use the example the fairy tales we use to tell to the children. In none of them a relationship has started as it has evolved today. It is always a pure, virgin relation, where the princess or prince is searching for the other, learn , fight for his/her love. And once the love is developed and he/she has sacrificed his/her will, then comes the happily ever after.
The beauty and the beast, the best example. The flower falling apart every day. Till, all the old heart falls for the new to arise.
Keep up the good work. It's so great to see such efforts also overseas.

But for those of us who no longer have virginity and are unmarried, what are we to do? Some of us have come from the other side of the tracks before we got here. I'm partial to the idea of celibacy and I practice it, but I wasn't always that way, but that isn't the same thing as virginity, is it?

Pray, repent, confess and ask for guidance.
Once a monk told me, you can do all but did you ask for a trainer to help you build those spiritual muscles? You can go to the gym, but if a trainer does not set you the right program for you , in the best case you loose time, in the worse you get hurt and stop exercising.
Thank God, we do have so much information nowadays available, that can help us learn , dive deep, but I see it every day, we need someone to help us, guide us on our way.

We will never have what virgins have. And since virginity is the greatest gift one can bring to a marriage as Fa. Josiah says, our marriage, if we ever have one, will not have the greatest gift we can give.

This advice is useless to most unmarried people, let alone unmarried Christians, in this day and age. Jesus was a virgin, but he was also God. For most people, adhering to virginity will ensure they end their days unmarried and childless, particularly if they're older (in their 30s, for instance).
Unsurprisingly, it comes from a man who apparently married quite young and now has 8-10 children.
