Origins: Creationism, Evolution, and an Orthodox Theology of Creation
    patristicnectar.org/bookstore...
Patristic Nectar Publications is pleased to present a new five-lecture series by His Grace, Irenei, Bishop of London and Western Europe for the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, entitled ORIGINS: Creationism, Evolution and an Orthodox Theology of Creation. Well-known patristics scholar and respected arch-pastor Bishop Irenei labors in this series to help believers approach the theology of creation from the presuppositions of the Church instead of through the prisms of evolution and creationism. By an intensive examination of the foundational texts of Genesis, together with numerous sources from the Church Fathers, Bishop Irenei enables us to perceive the Church’s own theological priorities and emphases when addressing the subject of creation.
    Lecture titles include:
Lecture #1 The Lamb Slain Before the Foundation of the World: Moving Beyond Creationism and Evolution
Lecture #2 The Order of Salvation: The Creation of the Cosmos as the Beginning of the Church in Genesis
Lecture #3 The Fashioning of Man: The Pinnacle of Creation
Lecture #4 Creation and Its Consequences: The Sanctity of Life and Ecology
    Lecture #5 Review with Q and A

As a young man It is a very heavy, disheartening experience to be rejected when your genuine -however small it may be- attempt to preserve chastity is perceived as 'unmasculine' and a form of weakness.
What a time to be alive !

I’m 30 and have remained a virgin, because that’s the Christian example my parents gave me and because I haven’t met my future wife(if that’s even my destiny; I’m truly considering monasticism). I have admitted this fact to a few people before. Some admired me for it and some viciously ridiculed me for it. I have a thick skin so ridicule did not phase me. I know I’m obeying God by keeping the marriage bed undefiled.

By God’s grace, my husband and I were both virgins until we married, and it has continued to be a great blessing to us. He was 32, and I was 27 when we married. I never worry about my husband’s faithfulness to me, which I know is not the case for many wives, even Christian ones. It meant so much to me that he waited. his commitment to God in this area demonstrated his commitment in other areas, and I took note when were dating. It has helped me trust him in other areas to. It will be a blessing to you and the woman you marry. I was also mocked and pressured, and it can be difficult. However, it says more about the sad state of the person mocking you than it does about you. Have compassion and pray for them. Remember you’re doing it out of love and obedience to God. It only takes one woman to observe this and to marry, not many.

If you have banished Christ from your sight. How can you expect to see Him?
Maybe you and Leather Tuskadaro can have a meaningful conversation about the Eshaton.

I'm 28 and had plenty of "fun" in my early twenties. Coming back to Christ about 6 months ago, I won't have sex again till I am married. Currently working on erasing pornagraphy from my life as well. We need to bring back the glory of chastity. It's a powerful strength, not a weakness

What a blessing to have women who are faithful to the Lord. Thank you Lord for the faithful examples of the saintly women and may their lives be an impression for women and girls today.

Amen. I hope the various Orthodox Churches in America will defy the devil and his minions in government next time they try to shut down Christs’ churches and stop people from worshipping and taking the Holy Communion. I am in absolute agreement that we must be defiant of the devil and worship Christ. Many evils will beset us in these days of Noah we’re living in. Please Father, I hope that you will speak with your fellow clergy and determine that the doors of the church will never be closed again, not even in the Great Tribulation, when we will need the church more than ever. If we close the doors for the flu father, because some tin pot dictators at the county health offices tell us we have to, what confidence can your flocks have that the doors will be open and the Holy Communion will be given when Christians are once again facing persecution as has been foretold? I hope you see this and speak with your fellow clergy about this issue. This can never happen again. God bless you father and God bless us all in these strange times.

Did of these godly women wear tight clothing, short dresses, pants or leggings, makeup & painted nails? I ask because so many women do many things in the Church, yet have careers and follow the world's fashions, which are contrary to each other. Terrible immodesty is allowed in the Nave. I wish there was more teaching for women and holiness today as taught in I Tim & Titus. Even little girls are not taught how to sit in a dress properly, etc. There is little opportunity to enquire about this. I am not trying to be inconsiderate of your site. I have grand-daughters and love many little children; this is a great concern. Feel free to delete my comment.

Excuse if I talk out of ignorance, but that would be something between the specific women and her spiritual father. We all are faulty in some way, and with difficulty even see a portion of our own sin.

Women are more than willing to accept responsibility for all of the world, if men are to give us such responsibility by blaming us for the fall. You want women to lead? Blame them, give them responsibility for the direction of the world.

      @infowolf1 ปีที่แล้ว +8

I see no problem with painted nails, but lipstick is a no no in church because you don't want to get this on icons you kiss, and makeup that radically gives a false impression of your beauty is wrong. pants....tight, not good. normal pants, more modest really than skirts.

@@digitalsublime if the variouis faults we may be guilty of are not addressed in sermons, how are we to spot them in ourselves in the first place? lets not let this humility of a sinner before othersinners result in failure to reject sin or denounce it, which after a while can result in acceptance by people because it is not addressed.

Back then, women knew that soldiers wouldn't kill them because of their gender. They might receive a slap or at worse experience a sexual harassment or rape. On the other hand, men would face torture as punishment, or at worst, death by sword. In some cases, being a woman provided some legal privileges as it is today. I could be wrong about it and is not in my intentions to devalue the efforts of these women.

And there were women standing by those men, also it's factual that in most cases women wouldn't be harmed in war the same way men were, and women have done sinful acts as well, the most promiscuous people throughout history have mostly been women, women are the ones who get abortions, also most supporters of abortions are women, most supporters of lgbtq craziness are women, the people who initiate the most divorces are women, women can hit men and have no repercussions, a women could be a drug addict divorce her husband and take his kids, women lie about rape and get men put behind bars and when it turns out the man is innocent the woman gets off Scott free, but keep talking about how women who got to stay home with people who loved them had a husband who was obligated to protect her with his life and who worked tirelessly to protect her had it hard. @@lisaharmon8401
