We still learned these hand signals in Driver's Ed in the 1970s, Made sense then, still does. Electrical systems DO fail. Best to have a "backup" plan!👍
I've definitely used them as late as 4 years ago. The circuit that controlled my turn signals on a klr was janky so hand signals it was for a time being.

LOL! This is hilarious! Road rage is obviously not a new thing. These videos, although over 70 yrs old, offer some good safety tips on how to drive and not get hurt, or hurt anyone else.

Yeah, I can't stand that stupid back-up light thing. So many times I thought I should be kind and let the person back up out of their parking spot, only to discover I was waiting for nothing as the people are getting in or out of their stupid GM vehicle.
My dad had a 1933 Chevrolet that he drove to his machine shop job during WW2. He was a government inspector for the war parts. I remember his fuel ration sticker in the windshield. He had 3 riders who he picked up every day. That Chevy was in our family until 1971 or 2.. He sold it and it had a long journey. Went to KY. It finally was acquired by a man who restored it to new condition for 20,000+. Sometime after his garage caught fire severely biting it. He again had to restore it. I got to see it at a car show and told him it used to be my dad's. He had me sit in it and took some pictures. 😊

Basically zero cars had passenger side mirrors back then but a lot had a driver side one. Even in the 90s some cars still didn't have a passenger side mirror.
go figure.. there were driving morons back then who sissy foot everywhere they go or park in the middle of a public roadway. There's NO safety features built into cars from 1937 to 2017 that invalidates this film. Signaling one's intention (or not!) is still a "thing". I was almost hit by an asshole (in a "obviously" superior European car - Newish BMW...) for lack of driver's inattention and lack of signaling THIS WEEK. All of the best safety equipment built in to today's cars protect "the shooter" NOT the "target". This film is STILL VALID!
Pretty weak. I usually watch these jam handy videos and find myself entertained, but this was flat out annoying. Bad choice of actors, this guy was horrible.

We still have to lear them in UK. Just passed my theory test over the summer and it came on the test.
