- The ALL NEW 2022 Lexus NX is finally here and Lexus has made some major changes. On the outside you will discover new sheetmetal, LED lighting optional wheels, and grill. On the inside you will be greeted by the biggest game charger such as a 14in infotainment system, new seats, and digital dash. Under the hood is a 2.4L turbocharged inline-4 that is producing 270HP & mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Is the NEW 2022 Lexus NX 350 a BETTER luxury SUV than an Acura RDX?

Nice review!!! I love the brand. So reliable and my RX lasted 22 years. I just can’t understand why Lexus doesn’t seem to take into consideration how a front license plate is going to look on that big spindle grille. Just messes up the whole look, IMHO. And no spare tire…..UGH. Having been stranded on the side of super busy I-95 waiting for a tow truck after I shredded a “run flat” tire, I really find the lack of a spare a real negative. Couldn’t they offer as an option? Sheesh! Looks like a beautiful SUV, Joe. You and Lori do a great job!!!

Move to a state that doesn't need a front license plate or perhaps don't get this type of SUV's if little things bother you.
There are several manufactures that make a front license plate bracket that relocates the plate to the side of the massive front grille. Also, you do not have to run runflat tires. You can run standard tires and throw a spare in the back if you want. Toyota did that for weight savings and adding additional cargo space.

Coincidentally, my dealer called today with a new NX 350 just rolling off the truck and will be heading for my garage ASAP! Didn't realize these cars were kinda hard to get.

If I had to choose a compact Luxury SUV, id go with this this definitely beats those German competitors plus when I saw the Trackpad gone, I had a whole party 🎉

Pretty sharp! The grill is not as obnoxious as some others so I probably could live with it. The Acura’s SH-AWD is hard to beat. I’m flipping a coin on these two. Thanks for the great review and nice job Lori!! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸

Love it! Looked at the MDX but it's too big for me. We have a 22 year old Lexus and it stills smells like new leather. Looks like a lot of bang for the buck. Love how much fun you have behind the wheel but miss seeing your face when you drive because one look at your face says it ALL when you hit the throttle! Thanks to you and Lori for another great video! And thank you Lori for weathering the heat while your hubby sat on a ventilated seat!😋

This is the best bang for buck "value" purchase in the Lexus lineup in my opinion. I got overruled last year when we bought the UX. I loved that hybrid NX best of all.

I just love the spindle grill of Lexus.
I own an RX350. Dealer gave this to me yesterday as a loaner vehicle. Drives very smooth and has plenty of torque for highway speeds. You don’t even feel driving 90 mph on the highway, so I constantly had to look at the gauges to not to get myself into trouble.

I think this 2022 NX would have made my decision a bit more difficult to go with the 2022 RDX in comparison to their 2021 NX. I still think I made the right decision for me, however. While the interior styling is nice in this 2022 NX, there is just something a little off about it to my eye. The Acura interior is certainly more dynamic and there are things that I don't necessarily like about it, but I think the exterior styling is more interesting (particularly with the 2022 revised front air intakes) and you still get a bit more for the money on the RDX I think, although that gap has diminished considerably with this 2022 NX. I feel like the passenger side dash is just an afterthought on the interior in this NX. A little bit of design, even just a touch of a different material to break up the mass of the dash, would have gone a long way. It also might have served to offset or juxtapose against the offset nature of the design that is weighted towards the driver's side. Now I just have to play the excruciating waiting game for my 2022 RDX A Spec.
Does RDX has PHEV version? PHEV is the most important option for me.

The rdx doesn’t even have touchscreen, and it just got power folding mirrors (but only on higher trims-this is standard on the nx). I don’t think you get more for the money with the rdx. Btw I have an rdx

This is my next vehicle. Problem is all the dealers near me have no idea when they are actually going to show up on the lot. Last month is was first week of Oct. now it’s we’re not really sure when. Audi dealer by me, lot completely empty. The chip shortage is wreaking havoc.
Not worth buying a car right now.

@@MikeyBadabingBadaboom I traded in a lease that was ending that had a ton of equity left in it. Very low mileage. I’m terrified to even go on the dealer website to see what they are selling that vehicle for because I easily could’ve just bought it myself and sold it but I didn’t want the hassle. Long story short that’s the only reason I was even able to get my hands on the car. I got the first one that came in. F sport without a few bells and whistles sticker was $51,000. No Mark Levinson sound system, no nav which is useless. Don’t even know why people get nav. Apple CarPlay, right to Waze. No parking sensors. No kick under the back bumper to open cargo.
I hate to tell you but if you try to get one now they’re going to rip you off. People are willing to pay $5k over sticker just to get one. Zero incentives. Zero chance you can get a deal. Good luck. I don’t even think you can get one to be honest. I’ve yet to see one on the road other than mine. I feel like I’m the only person that has the vehicle🤣

I drive a ‘15 IS. This ‘22 NX350 is a winner, to me. Sat in one in the showroom when I was at the dealership for service. I was impressed! I genuinely liked it, and for the last several years haven’t liked any one of the current Lexuses. This one won me over immediately. Also, a huge plus to me is that the NX is made in Japan. A deal maker for me!

Joe picking up a new nx350H at Lexus of tampa Saturday . I would have liked your opinion on the 350h , I didn’t get luxury trim , i think the premium trim is fine for what I want . I hope I didn’t make a mistake with the hybrid and not getting the mark levenson sound . I know I’ll miss not having a cd player , yeah I like my cd’s , go ahead laugh .love listening to the Stones loud 🤷🏼♀️ Thanks for all your videos .

one thing i have to say is that most of these new NX reviews are with the NX luxury package. So when he mentions the Heads Up Display, panoramic sunroof, 14 speaker Marc Levinson speakers, 14" nav, that's all luxury package and it tacks on about $7500 onto the car. I had one priced with luxury package plus F-sport and it was $56K MSRP. *GULP*
I love the new generation Lexus NX better than the previous generation. The LED daytime running lights look almost like the Nike logo!

The zonk is the flat black on the fenders. It isn’t too high but on luxurious cars is shouldn’t have it. I’m liking with what Lexus does with their rear writing out the word Lexus. It does make it feel elegant. I see for future models they will write out the word Lexus

My Lexus dealer said that it should arrive at dealers this December.
Um Lexus is on a roll and I think they did even better with the 2022 Lexus LX.The NX is amazing already so just imagine how good the 2022 LX will be when we can purchase it in the spring of next year.

RDX for me. Better performance and styling. The NX some gimmicky features I’ll never use.
Actually I like both vehicles that you have been mention which is an Acura RDX 2022 and Lexus NX 2022 but after I saw a new design and a new engines.I will choose an all new Lexus NX 2022. But a new refresh Acura RDX 2022 it will better because it has a more legroom in second row seats and transmission it comes with a 10 or 9 speed automatic.

A few zonks: completely bare passenger dash, lots of piano black plastic, unnecessary and poorly functioning electronic door latches (see straight pipes 450 review). So some progress here but could’ve been better.

I have 2018 nx f sport black. I absolutely love the car, but i was hoping for a big changes in exterior design on a new model, little disappointed because looks so much like my 2018.
Toyota's changes to NX line are subtle, the engine update is really good. How many miles are on your NX and any issues? Mine is 2021 with no issues.
Would you say 350 over the 350h? Especially for someone living in NYC?

Lexus makes cars that you can own after the warranty expires. I had BMWs, Audis, Benz since I have my own license and somehow i allowed those German cars to dictate my life and my finances, came close to financial ruins when my 5 year old Audi requires new engine replacement for the second time. Proud owner of an RX 350 and I’m happy not making my money to dealerships. Lexus, car for the people.

If Acura finally gives the RDX a digital cluster, it doesn't even come close. Aspec RDX is such a beautiful car.

Too much road noise after test drive …
Digital cluster will probably not be available on the RDX until the next-gen around 2024 or 2025. By that time they should have an option for RDX Type-S.
Only thing missing is a flat bottom steering wheel. Mostly likely on the F Sport, which is nice.
The rear end is a looker. Glad they are moving away from the lexus logo on the back. Almost reminds you of cayennes.

@@romairoblackstock5100 same AWD, same power train, same ride, almost same interior except for some upmarket trim, leather, big screen. RAV4 offers more cargo and more performance smh in higher trims vs this.

I am pretty sure the Rav 4 doesn't have Adaptive Variable Suspension nor does it come close to the amount of technology that's in the New NX.Btw the 2022 Land Cruiser uses the same powertrain from the LS however it is tuned differently.Does that make the Land Cruiser the same vehicle as the LS? The Tundra is built on the same platform as the Land Cruiser does that make it a Land Cruiser? It's a nice update, but honestly I'm disappointed by the interior a bit. It doesn't look or seem special enough, especially for the asking price. No leather stitching on the dash, artificial leather as standard, and a very small gauge cluster. A giant screen doesn't necessarily mean premium, kinda looks out of place really.

Almost 300 horses and still 7.2 seconds to get to 60mph? What's going on here
It is a heavy little SUV. 275hp and 317tq vs the RDX's 272hp and 280tq, and the RDX was still able to achieve 5.7-6.0 second 0-60 mph.

The problem with having the rear wiper drop from the top, it reduces your visibility through the wiped window. You need a wider view of the bottom of the window to be able to see more of the road behind you. You only get that with the wiper on the bottom. Here, function outweighs aesthetics. You can stop zonking these now.

Toyota did it on the last gen Sienna minivan, but reverted in the new gen to put it back on the bottom. I guess it didn't work out as well as the planned to.
You see more of what's behind you if the windshield wiper is mounted at the bottom versus at the top. Unless aesthetic, and you want to see more of the sky and not the road behind you, the top mounted wiper is the way to go.

I could do without the PC screen on my dash (But that's always going to be my bias). I think the Lexus front grille looks like Darth Vader's mouthpiece to be honest. The Acura is a different vehicle for sure, but these are so original that it would be tough to choose. (Acura is the one I'd choose personally) Keep up the great reviews!

I wonder if this interior will make it's way to the Lexus IS for the 2023 model year. I hope they do.. I might as well just get that. Oh and also get rid of the funky turn signal setup in the current IS.

In our testing, we beat the Lexus-estimated acceleration to 60 mph by a full half-second, hitting 60 in 5.5 seconds versus the quoted 6.0-second time. That's quicker than the other 2022 NX models we've tested, but a 2021 XC60 Recharge reaches 60 in a MotorTrend-tested 5.0 seconds. We haven't yet tested a Q5 plug-in, but Audi estimates its model to be just as quick as the Volvo. In case you wonder, the lighter-weight RAV4 Prime matches the NX450h+'s 5.5-second time to 60.
This means the NX plug-in hybrid is both the quickest NX money can buy and the slowest SUV in its tiny segment.
Do you work for MotorTrend? Have they tested the Q5 plug-in?

I think this NX 350 is a winner, but I would like to see a review of the 2022 RX 350 review to compare it to.
We just got an NX over the RDX for my wife. I drive a TLX. The Acura definitely has its strengths, however it’s definitely showing its age, and Honda’s reluctance to deliver what the people want. Two other notes. The RDX has a 10 speed transmission which I think makes it quicker. Also it can run on lower RPMs. The Lexus has an 8 speed, and it’s typically revving higher than thr Acura under normal use. Higher revs = more gas consumption. Both are 2.0L turbos. The Acura is more spacious, the Lexus is more cramped, but has nicer finishes, materials and features except it doesn’t have walk away auto lock like Acura and touring trim Hondas do.
Seats 💺 are spectacular
Still looks ugly. I'd still go with Acura RDX. More spacious and better looking!

I currently have the 2020 RDX lease ending soon! The new NX F Sport is looking pretty nice! 😍 The infotainment and new tech is so hard to pass up. Not to mention the option for a hybrid!

Never ever again with Lexus after driving 4th Gen RX an dealing with crazy rough transmission and drone noise. The most over rated SUV I ever purchased.

I haven't liked the front grill of the RX350 since they increased the size with the ugly grill design. It looks cheap to me and how much will it cost when someone taps it in a parking situation. It surely can't protect the radiator.
