Great video thank you. I have done a few of these. My biggest problem is the finishing part. when I tighten the bolts the pump freezes up (does not turn). I have to bang on one side of the shaft to get it to loosen.

Aren’t you supposed to use water pump grease on those? Mine has grease zert holes but no zerts

Are you sure those aren't drain holes for winterizing?
Side note, they are actually called zerks.

Well, I was told to run antifreeze (with corrosion inhibitors) through them before putting them on the shelf over the winter. I did, but my sprayers 6500C was frozen solid when I pulled out it out storage yesterday, Admittedly, I had run glyphosate, imazamox, and a surfactant through it last fall to kill off some invasive giant reed, so yeah.......
I found a good price on a 6500XL that will be here next month, and got here looking for help to get the old 6500C through this first week of spring.
In the future I think instead of just running anti-freeze through it and putting in on a shelf, I will store them in a box immersed in anti-freeze, so they never go dry. I have also heard running oil through them before storage can help. The oil should stick better, but I am thinking immersion is the way to go.
But honestly, I'm not sure you can really help the 6500C's that much. All of the data I've seen says go get a 6500XL.
