Nice vid mate it's good that you pushed through been thr few times to a point where it gets disheartening... gotta take the good times with the not so good but just being out thr away from the rat race is the best... least you got a fish... Bet the bass were stacked in that fast water .... all the best 👍
Hi mate, yeah you are exactly right. Harder times make the good trips even better when it all pulls through. Yeah I'm not so sure, the water was quite dirty and I think lack of oxygen might've meant they weren't feeding.
When the fish are nowhere to be found during the daytime, it's most likely they'll feed at night. Try a bit of night fishing. You might be pleasantly surprised. Especially with surface lures. Yes, it's time to get a collapsible fishing rod. Good to see you and the pooch (Sam) out in the wild.
Hi mate, my suggestion if you havent been out in the bush with the dog before is just to take it easy the first couple of trips and keep it simple. I've been taking Sven out since he was a pup so he loves it but as an older dog it might be a bit stressful. Just ease into it with a couple of smaller trips and go from there. Look for state forest as these areas are easy to find and most often dog friendly.
dude with the amount of back packing u guys r doing u need a quality 4 piece rod to save the broken rod problem. my sons use the daiwa wilderness model for this type of fishing(i am to old now). they come in either cast or spin. there high quality with all the v joint tech needed. we use daiwa everything but there r other brands as well. i know where u r, i use to live an hour away. my brother n myself spent a lot of our youth chasing bass through these areas.
Hi mate, funny you should mention, I ended up going with exactly that. Purchased myself a Diawa wilderness 4pc as an early birthday present to myself. Its bloody great setup!
@ ended up going with the 664LXS, next year I’ll be getting myself a baitcaster setup for cod and hopefully once I’m a bit used to it I can move to baitcaster for bass too
grab yourself some orange electrical conduit cut to length of your fishing rod with just the last 150mm or so of the handgrip showing slide it in and you would find that nearly impossible to break a rod again and the tube can be very useful aswell when not travelling with a rod in it . i have done this for the last 30 odd years never had a problem even fitted a small wire hook on one end to help with getting lures out of snags >
Nice video, I love how the dog wants to play fetch when you are casting the lure. Keen to see what else you get up to, thanks for sharing
Thanks mate 🤝 yeah Sven absolutely loves it out bush and he enjoys watching the lures 😂
