  • I am in no form or fashion a CM Punk super fan.. But after back tracking to this promo, it made me wonder... Is CM Punk RIGHT? Was he accurate in saying Adam Page went into business for himself? Let's dissect it!

    you can see in that promo that Punk tells Page 2 times "why are you making this personal"...Punk was actually trying to get Page back on track, and Page just didnt listens and keeps going full personal with Punk...maybe the press conference was grong on Punks side, but I can totally understand why he is so mad about all this situation

      Remember, Page doesn't take advice.

      Oh most definitely. You can see even in his EYES that Punk is telling "What are you doing man." lol.

    Even if Punk has a point, he's had 3 months to talk to Hangman, Punk talks about if you have a problem, come to him. Well he had a problem with Page, but instead of coming to him and talking it out, he waited 3 entire months, and decided to bury him (and his superiors in the company) on live TV after a PPV. There's no excuse for that media scrum tantrum, or the testosterone fueled brawl that occurred afterwards.

      @AceWumboFlapJack 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well I don’t think he was in the wrong. The media scrum was the best time to do it because those same reporters were the ones that wrote those bs takes on Punk being responsible in Colt Cabana losing his AEW job.

    • @Larryandhisbelts
      @Larryandhisbelts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually to be fair, Punk's first interaction with the reporter was someone he THOUGHT was friends with Colt and when the reporter stated he WASN'T a friend of his, Punk even said he somewhat BLEW HIS SPOT, but then proceeded to speak on the topic anyways. The dude literally just won the championship back and spent the first few minutes going off on a topic that had nothing to do with the match. Just as Simon Watson said, he had MONTHS to talk to Hangman and clear things up and instead he's held it in this entire time. It's a bit silly if you ask me.

    CM Punks right , Sorry this time hes right. The Cokt Cabana stuff should Be in the rear view. Why bring it up at all? Thats what this was about in th ebeginning. Cot Cabana looks out of Shape and cannot wrestle maybe thats why He isnt on TV. If the Bucks were so behind Him why is His TV time none existent before Punk was hired? Having Executives actually Wrestking in Your company is ridiculous and the fatc they had all the Belts was an even worse move. How does no wrestling Media/ Journalists ignore that? Punks the Bad Guy regardless however I guess. I enjoyed AEW until they atrted looking like a bunch of Babies. Cutting promos that made them look like tantrums. Hiring Indy wrestlers that hurt Folks on a regular basis... But WWE Guys coming in that are draws are taking slots? Why? Because they dont cause their opponents to miss freaking Months rehabing injuries these Indy Folks gave them. This si so done. AE gone in 2 years. When Fols continue to leave because they dont want to get crippled by the Amateurs in AEW.

      To play devil's advocate a bit, it is a bit odd that he's bringing this stuff up at this time though. He had months to discuss this with Hangman ESPECIALLY since he's been hurt this entire time, but he decided to come back from injury, and then cut a promo on it. He admitted that he shouldn't have taken that road, but it's not like CM Punk has done anything different lol. That's what the issue is at the time. Punk could have easily taken the high road, contacted Hangman even that NIGHT, talked it through, and figured things out. Instead, he got injured, let 3 months go by, and THEN cut the promo.

    So I want to say this I'm new to your page never saw your page well I'm just rolling down because I see there's a lot of talk about the CM punk situation you know I'm a wrestling fan from back in the days when WCW and I'll listen to a lot of promos and I can't say promos a lot of TH-camrs and things like that I just pause yours at 2 minutes and 29 seconds because I just want to say from the beginning you are the realest that I've ever heard you admit you're not a CM punk fan but you also looking at from both sides as the realest I ever heard somebody said anything about this topic lately I just wanted to say that continue your thing man I'll support you

      Thank you so much for the kind words! My goal is to create a wrestling community where there isn't a lot of toxicity and we attract a lot of respectable and well minded fans with opinions we all love to hear about and discuss wrestling with. I too have been a wrestling fan for over 30 years and seen it all. I also know when i'm being biased, or being too much of a fanboy and have no issues being humbled when I am! lol. And that's where I want this community to be different. To not have to worry about being ridiculed and trashed on and we can all discuss pro wrestling topics in a civil way. Thanks again for hanging out and I look forward in hearing whatever you have to say about any wrestling topic. =D

    I think this also refers to the time when Phil was not working in wrestling. When the cameras weren't on Phil- he attempted to jump the line and get into the UFC for his name draw alone. Rule of thumb in combat sports, if you aren't at championship level by the time you're 30 become a trainer/coach/manager...not get 2 fights and use none of the bravado that you should have given if you were going to be in that spot on any card for the UFC. You can't step shuffle step shuffle against younger guys that now have been training a decade or longer. The best fighters these days have been training since they were kids. A mid 30s fighter doesn't have the speed/power/techniques to defend that kind of fighter. When beaten, Phil was meek like a mouse.
    He eventually comes back to wrestling. He cuts the promos he forgot for the years he trained in MMA. He is the modern godfather of the pipe bomb promo. He can't take it? then maybe go home and pet Larry and hug Amy. Don't get ticked off for somebody using something in real life that hurt your feelings. Did Jack Perry? Heck, I had a friend that couldn't believe the things Christian said about Jack's Dad, Mother, and sister. To be honest, those were far more hurtful to the regular fan ears.
    Don't come out after 2 months and call the Hangman a coward. You've been having surgery after surgery to repair because your dumba$$ jumped into the crowd and broke your foot. All you could think about was calling the young man a coward? Hangman isn't a coward.
    Then in your media scrum...without having a question asked- you call out the reporters and the company officials? You're not Stone Cold in the 90s and not in WWE anymore. You down the people who worked hard to get you back and put you to the top of the Roster. if this isn't a work then this was poor manners.

    • @Larryandhisbelts
      @Larryandhisbelts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First off, thanks for the great response!
      I think what Christian did was a lot different than what Adam Page did though. What Christian did was a heelish thing to do that actually put sympathy onto Jungle Boy which benefitted Jungle Boy. What Adam Page did was am attempt to damage Punk's character. I mean think about it, Adam Page and the world knew CM Punk was going to win the championship. It was going to be a big event. Why would you do what you can to hurt the person (CM Punk) who is going to be taking the title from you and take over the reigns as the top babyface in the company? Doing what Adam Page did not only was damaging to CM Punk, but it was damaging to AEW as well. Bringing up these things to hurt the CM Punk character will eventually reflect on AEW as a business as well considering if fans stopped supporting Punk, it would hurt business.
      But I completely agree with HOW he handles things. Punk never goes the high road or turns the other cheek. He goes 0 to 100. A lot of people think that shows strength but I think it shows the opposite. It's like, let Page say the shit he did. But then when you go to the back, take him in a private room and talk shit through and resolve it. Don't go on live TV and return the favor.

    By all accounts everything was fine until punk had to work with the elite people always mentioned Eddie Kingston and mjf promos but punk didn’t have a problem with them because they were working. page made it personal with stuff that made no sense in a face vs face promo. And yes it should have been handled backstage after by tony and there are reports out there that punk went to page and page blew him off didn’t offer an explanation or apology so I kinda get why punk buried him. What blows my mind is this is all over colt cabana
