    Love the Margiela replicas, best high end sneakers imo. They fit with literally everything, you never go wrong with that pair on feet. I have mine for 7 years now and wearing them almost every day, still in very good condition.

      These shoes are surprisingly durable! For something so slim and simple I’m not surprised they have lasted so long for you!

    • @sumoslap1973
      @sumoslap1973 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah but they’re $600.... Did he even make those? If I’m not mistaken he rebranded them, that’s it lol. I was on my first trip to Germany bought three pairs of army trainers for 34€. One for my dad and brother and I. They’re all leather I love them so much.

    • @_herehugo_
      @_herehugo_ 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sumoslap1973 of course they are the same shoes. Margiela called them "replicas" but trust me the quality of the leather is not the same. (Not saying that the OG gats are bad quality, they just different). And for the price yeah there is a big difference, it all depends of what you're looking for. I didn't pay mine full price, got them for like 220$. So, it's worth it imo.

      @@_herehugo_ cool, never seen a pair in person, guess I wouldn’t know. I’m just surprised the GATs can even get any better lmao they’re already so near perfect. I gotta start thrift hunting more

    Didn't know they are popular outside Germany. I have about 5 pairs unused and 1 I'm wearing. Got them in a shop around here for 5€ a pair. It's just a mass-product, that everyone got when he had to do obligatory army-service for about a year. All things imaginable got stolen an smuggled out of the Bundeswehr. So if you "lost" your shoes, you got new ones and there were quite a lot of military shops with those hardly used sneakers and camping-bushcraft-equipment in general. The Number on the sole is the size, the Bundeswehr (BW) used a different system, so it might be quite confusing. They usually last a long time, very robust. I wear them for daily issues, it's not very "fancy" to wear them in clubs or so. They could be considered the "anti-sneaker". So I have 2 pairs of SAMBA which are basically the same thing, but look "cooler". The BW definitly had another sort of shoe, blue ones with a black sole, more for hiking but still sneakers. They are not so common.

    • @epicprogamer61937
      @epicprogamer61937 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah they are pretty popular everywhere. I know that people in the US think they're hard to find but I know a decent website in Korea that ships to the USA. They handmake their shoes from beginning to end, Korea also has some of the best leather in Asia so I don't mind handmade korean shoes one single bit. They sell them for $50. Not bad considering what most pay for shoes. I got 2 pairs, and will get the other ones that have the suede on the side when they go back in stock, they're also $10 cheaper for some reason even though there's more material on it. They have black and creme colors as well but white is the cleanest looking imo.
