There’s no one better than John at explaining his thought process in real time. I really learn a lot from your videos. Great to see you posting consistently again!!
Johh Bartholomew. The man who taught me proper chess a year before the pandemic and chess exploded. Always good vibes! Being a few more years into my chess journey, I’ve learned to identify different creator’s styles, which is cool. If I had to use a word for John’s, it’d be pragmatic I reckon. Cheers for the uploads, and we appreciate you clearing the schedule! Time is money, and we also understand the respect you have for your students, so shout out to John’s students too for their flexibility!!
hey…you mentioned in your stream that you offer PL i went to your about section but couldn’t find “for business inquiries “ or your email! did you stop providing private tutoring? thanks for all the amazing content by the way
Hello! I do indeed still offer private coaching. You may have to look at the "About Me" section on your computer, but you'll find my contact there. Also, feel free to send me a message on Chess.com (Fins0905) or lichess (Fins). Thanks for your viewership and inquiry!
This varies even between websites you're using to do analysis. Blunder usually involves a mistake that loses significant material but on analysis I've seen moves called blunders that don't immediately lose anything just because of how hard the eval swung. Colloquially blunder is just really bad mistake.
No hate, and I really like your content. But I don't believe in the Scandi system. Although at a somewhat lower rate, I have a very convincing positive score against it.

John is indeed excellent at that!
Two other great real-time explainers: Jerry (ChessNetwork) and Daniel Naroditsky.
The "tradition unlike any other" is actually, "Hey, Guys, this is John"....Glad to hear it again!
I love that your sub alert is “hey John, this is guys” 😂
The dark mode made wonders for my sleep!! Thanks John

Thanks, Adam - much appreciated! Happy you've picked up some solid stuff from channel!
Agreed, pragmatic is a good way to describe my style :)
Thanks for coming back to us! Keep the TT content coming!
Yup! Watching some TT with you (even later on) is a nice relaxing break from reality on our end. ;-)
Thanks man!
Imagine John getting back into habits of uploading Yt videos every now and then.
Lol. Sounds like a dream come true buddy.
Love to see my two favorite IMs play each other!
Thoroughly entertaining session. Loved how pumped you were John. Great game against Salem. Thank you for sharing!
the BATTLE was actually the calmest contest of the lot...
Finally got one of these early in my TH-cam notifications. Only saw the previous two yesterday and today, nice to see your videos again John!
Best part of my week.. So happy you're back on TT TH-cam John
Awesome, loving the Titled Tuesdays lately, John!
Love watching you play TT games. It's great to see you playing strong players and giving us insights into your in-game thinking. Thanks JB! :-)
Yay! John uploading stuff on YT 😄
What do you call a player looking for his D pawn?
Answer: The Scan D
I’ll see myself out.
Thank you for editing down the "theoretical battle." 😀
The battle ⚔️ against Esipenko was great👏
Glad you liked it! :)
The game vs Karimov perfectly followed the theory of Fischer-Spassky game 2!! Amazing theoretical battle
Thanku sir 🙏for doing what you do
It fills me with immense pleasure watching you play.
I have learnt a lot from you.
Thank you for your kind words and viewership!
So nice to see you back John!
What a remarkable man
Always a good time, John! And I do admire how you stay cool under pressure.
I am so excited to watch it ... thanks bro
Closing in on 200k subscribers John 🥳
Eric is so sneaky good...I am wondering if he becomes a grand master before John...they are both GM material.
Watching this in the middle of the night and i love the dark mode.
My eyes and my sleeping girlfriend says thank you John!

I may be too old, but I twitched when you referred to a 3+1 game as "serious".
Seems Qd8 after your Qb6 was winning on the spot for him in the third game
17:50 Why can't you take on d4?
Good point - I honestly think we both just missed it!
01:42 that was me :)

John where is that shirt from? No gatekeeping/playing f6
Old Navy!
What if it was tilted tuesday and you drank a shot every time you took a piece
Great comeback in Game 9!
Does anyone know how to contact John? I can’t find an email anywhere 😏
what is the difference between a mistake and a blunder?

Darm mode is good
33:42 nxe4 playable?
Nf5 will be the answer, hitting e7.
@@JohnBartholomewChess ahh thanks

It's not the best opening since the queen has to move too early. But it's still better than the Modern variation, which I play lol
That's fair. I don't play it exclusively against 1.e4; it's objectively not a top-tier defense.
How tall are you John?
The vid is broken =/ it's not playing =( I wanted to watch it so bad :-((
Climb the ladder danya style? With new acc from 400 elo let's say
36:40 Free Knight?
He was threatening Qxg6+ if Rxd2
John is even tinier in his profile pic
Dark mode much better
Loving the TH-cam content John. 🦾😃
First match, opening done in less than 10 seconds, going up a minute, a new John using that clock as a weapon.
